Cycling Art to the max. This frame is absolutely stunning. It deserves Campagnolo Record.
Thank you 👍🏼
About to cry here! This is pure cycling art! I raced in mexico for 4 years with a Benotto 3000 and my memories just came out strong seeing this one!!! Amazing work.
Thank you 🙏🏼 They sure are beautiful bikes 👍🏼 This was the first Benotto I’ve restored and I was very impressed with the build quality of the frame 👌🏼
Excellent Job! Well done Sir!
Thank you Todd, I appreciate the feedback 👍🏼
The wood bike support at the end is interesting. A video on the construction would be appreciated I'm sure.
your a man of wonderful integrity
Thank you 🙏🏼
Absolutely wonderful end result. Thanks for the video.
Pleasure and thank you, glad you enjoyed it 👍🏼
I'm sure the folks who built this frameset would be very pleased with your efforts. Perhaps the best compliment of all. Congratulations.
Thanks for the kind words, much appreciated 👍🏼
Fantastic job mate! I’m sure that it’s better than when it was new! Credit to your attention to detail 👌

Your attention to detail is amazing. Love your channel!
Thank you so much! 👍🏼
Just now completing my restoration of identical frame size 52.5 cm Has Italian record transfer 1970 to 1977. The precise linage you have achieved at the chevron top and down tubes i have not been able to replicate ,also at the chain stay chrome. The chrome here is a work in progress as severely affected on chain side. The paint finish is original which i have nurtured to remove light scratches and used auto wax wash to restore the glow which i now intend to polish. Campag 980 deraileur plus Chorus group set, Chinelli bar and stem to complete. Thanks for your video. The bike will be deployed around S W London and Surrey Hills plus Giro Cafe !
Sounds like you’ve put a lot of time and care into your restoration project, well done 🙌🏼
Watching this as I do up a Fondriest Alur bike. Lovely job Buffy.
Thanks fella, good luck with the Fondriest project, what groupset you running on it?
@@BuffsVintageBikes Shimano nine speed a mixture of 105 and dura ace, contemporary with the age of the frame.
Good job end amazing bicycle
Thank you 🙏🏼
Maybe my favourite video so far! You're doing such amazing work! Thank you for putting yourself out there for our entertainment and inspiration. -Mike's Bikes Work
Thanks for the feedback Mike, glad you enjoyed it. The finished bike turned out beautifully as well 👍🏼
Beautifully done😊
Excellent work, new subscriber
Thanks and welcome
Professional job there mate!
Stunning!
An absolute stunner 😲😲😲 Huge respect on a fantastic restoration 👏👏👏👏🤝🏆🥇
Thanks Darryl, appreciated 👊🏼👍🏼
Truly excellent. Very inspiring, and insightful. Preparing some lug paint detailing on an 80s Dancelli SL frame, so will try your method.
Thank you 🙏🏼 Give that fluid writer a try, you may just need to thin the paint a little to get it to flow better but it delivers some great results 👍🏼
Brilliant job sir! Your patience and application are amazing. Well done.
Thank you, I appreciate the feedback 🙏🏼👍🏼
Muy hermoso cuadro Benotto, yo tengo un modelo 1500 y un modelo 3000...buena restauración...
Bret, you becoming a master of the art! Love your work bro. #legend
Thanks Gerrit, appreciate the kind words. Trying to improve with each project, it’s a learning curve but loving it 👊🏼👍🏼
WOW.. And WOW again.. fair goes mate you have really done a top job on this. I do the same kind of stuff here in England and you have shown me a fair few tips on spraying. Love the Vids. Might even get intouch for advice. Please keep it up... Steel is real 👍👍👍
Thank you, much appreciated 👊🏼
Perfect🚲‼️
Exelente trabajo maestro
Thank you 🙏🏼
Excellent job sir love the channel
Thank you, glad to hear you’re enjoying it 👍🏼
Impecable. Buen trabajo.
Thank you 🙏🏼
Preciosa bicicleta y gran trabajo
Love it!
Thanks for the trust and believing in my skills Gerard, it’s help me push my own boundaries 🙏🏼👍🏼
absolutely stunning mate :-) next level attention to detail. that fine-line pen looks really satisfying to use, but a steady hand needed for sure.
one last point, I tried the "fingernail" method for removing overpaint once, but it played havoc with my nail polish!!!
Thank you 👍🏼 🤣 just make sure you do it just before changing to your new nail varnish colour 😉😝
Legend
Thanks bud 👊🏼
Filling an engraved name on metal, I can help there.
I do it by putting the paint, wait till is almost dried and then with a piece of cloth damp with finger nail remover just wipe it off.
Thanks for that tip Mario, I’ll be sure to give it a try 🙏🏼👍🏼
Very nice restoration, the Columbus decal does not go in that position, it goes on the seat tube about 5 inches.
Thank 👍🏼 Not on this bike it doesn’t, I matched it to the original, I mention that in the video.
Nice 👍🇲🇦
Amazing job. Congratulations! Even if the position of that Columbus decal may be authentic, my OCD would not allow me to place it there 🤣 Have you considered using ceramic coatings instead of polish as the last step? They're very popular in the car detailing world. I have just applied such a coating to my newly resprayed Colnago Master - hopefully will help protect it 🤞 Keep up the good work 👍
Thanks 🙏🏼 Yeah, that decal worried me as well, I even did some research to make sure the original was correct before applying it 😁 I’ll look into the ceramic coatings, thanks for the heads up 👍🏼
@trevekneebone369 really curious about how the ceramic coating has worked on your Master ? Have it on a car for 15 yrs definitely preserves the paint finish (still as good as the day it was put on). I’m thinking the application process on the tubes of a bike may require a lot more finesse than the flatter panels of a car. Any tips or lessons ? And also may I ask where did you source it please ? All help much appreciated 😁. Finally hope you’re enjoying the Master, awesome bike. Cheers.
Me gustó como kedo
Very nice sir. For the chrome, use aluminium foil, good to clean and fills the chips in the chrome
Thank you 👍🏼 Yes, aluminum foil works great and I actually used it on this chrome but unfortunately some of the chrome was chipped off altogether. Luckily not so much that it needed rechroming.
Mooi 🎉
Dankie 👍🏼
What do you recommend to remove rust from the front forks..I have the exact same bike? Your bike looks just like mine did in the late 80's..Well done!
If the rust isn’t entirely through the chrome and pieces of chrome peeling off then you can use scrunched up tin foil or non-scratch steel wool using WD40 as a lubricant to rub the rust off the chrome.
I need to purchase a chrome front fork for my Benotto. Do you know the rake and steer tube length...Thanks in advance, Dennis
I don’t know the exact specs, sorry.
I wasnt aware that there were SA produced steel bikes, what brands?
There are many actually, some built under license to the European brands. We had Peugeot, Lejeuene, Peter Allan, Hansom, Du Toit, De Lange and Alpina just to name a few.
Can you advise the source of the Benotto decals?
These were custom made by a local graphic designer in SA but try www.bicyclestickers.co.uk, I source many of my decals through them.
Top..
