Have always enjoyed watching your videos and work.....lovely pieces. As a righty, I'd like to encourage you to consider using a reversible flex shaft with some sort of dust collection for your chasing operations. Getting that dust flowing away from you and ideally into some capture device is really important. Ive seen too many old timers paying the price for dirty work habits. I've just finished mine and theres a vid on the channel if you're curious. The aesthetic of the intakes leaves something to be desired but watching the dusts get sucked into the tube is so satisfying.
Hi Eric! Thank you SO much for this comment I am 100% gonna check that out! I’ve been worrying about that for quite some time now. Every time I leave my bench, my face is covered in debris from polishing. I wear a respirator mask but if I could have the debris go in the opposite direction or even better get sucked up right away by some dust collector that would be ideal!🙌🏻 Thank you so so much again!
After you do the initial bezel, when you are adding that twisted border, are you adding more solder underneath or is the solder from the first bezel bleeding into the twisted one?
I’m new to the art of jewelry making and I was wondering what the pickling pot was for? I’ve seen it in a few other people’s videos too, but nobody really explains what it is or what it does.
i have been binging your videos and LOVING the work you do! i want to get into silver smithing but don’t know where to start! would you have any recommendations? 💗
Yes I have done that a few times. You have to be extremely careful when twisting! I try to go as slow as possible constantly checking to make sure not too much pressure is being applied to one section of the post. I usually use medium or easy solder for earring posts!
Hello Beautiful! i wanna ask you something, i think the -3M Radial Bristle Discs in various grits its soldout. do you have any other recommendation link for the same work?¿
Is there different reasons to use different types of flux ? I see That there is the tub that you recommended and Amazon but also you are spraying a yellow substance? Your videos are so helpful
The one on Amazon works perfectly for general purpose and smaller pieces. However the spray bottle one helps prevent fire scale when a lot of heat is required for bigger soldering operations!
Hi I love how your videos are so detailed and to the point! You do such a great job with your videos!! Question: what type of turquoise are the cabochons you are using for this video?
@@SpiritMountainSilver thank you! I see they have a few options, which one is it specifically? I’m sorry for all the questions! But I appreciate the help
I personally have never used liver of sulfur but Midas black max doesn’t have that nasty smell! And it doesn’t require any heat or anything. Superrr easy to use!
Thank you for all the helpful information! Your videos are great!! Your pieces are beautiful!! I definitely will be purchasing something from your website. I am trying to get into jewelry making for family and friends, there are so many websites to find stones and I just am not sure what type of stones or quality best works for this. Do you have any recommendations for trust worth places to find good stones?
It may melt but I don't use too much of it and I control the heat of the piece ands focus it mostly on the backplate. The flame never directly touches the previous solder joints, only the one I am working on (sweat soldering).
hello, which solder did you use for soldering the twisted wire to the bezel? i didn't catch it, thank you!! ps i guess it's easy solder, right? kissesssssss

Hello friends ❤️
You are a fabulous teacher!
Thank you! 😃
Love your videos, so informative and helpful! Question: why do you twist the earring post with the pliers at 08:40?
It helps to work harden the ear posts so they don't bend!
I have confidence in those settings! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thank you!❤️
Great job, beautiful set of earrings.
Thank you! 😊

After you do the initial bezel, when you are adding that twisted border, are you adding more solder underneath or is the solder from the first bezel bleeding into the twisted one?
I usually use the overflow solder from the bezel but sometimes if it doesn't all catch I will add a small solder chip!
I’m new to the art of jewelry making and I was wondering what the pickling pot was for? I’ve seen it in a few other people’s videos too, but nobody really explains what it is or what it does.

Yes I have done that a few times. You have to be extremely careful when twisting! I try to go as slow as possible constantly checking to make sure not too much pressure is being applied to one section of the post. I usually use medium or easy solder for earring posts!

It may melt but I don't use too much of it and I control the heat of the piece ands focus it mostly on the backplate. The flame never directly touches the previous solder joints, only the one I am working on (sweat soldering).
