TROPIC Mission into Hurricane Ian

Capt. Beth Sanabia, a professor at the U.S. Naval Academy, and midshipmen participating in her Training and Research in Oceanic and Atmospheric Processes in Tropical Cyclones (TROPIC) program flew into Hurricane Ian to collect data under the ocean for use in the predictions of future storms.

Yeah great the Navy had, it's own hurricane hunter fleet, but inexplicably it was turned over to the Air Force, and now you thank them for getting a ride.
