It never ceases to amaze me that more aircraft, vehicles, and people do not go rolling off the deck--especially with all of the movement involved with each aircraft. Great video!

Awesome video sir! In 1986 I went on a 'tiger cruise' and my uncle showed me what the Navy life was like, I'll never forget seeing that Tomcat launch. Later that evening I was asked when I was going to join the Navy. I said I wasn't, I'm going to the Air Force. I thought I was going to get a beating. Navy aviators have balls of steel.

Brings back many memories. When I served, during the draft, you got used to working as a very well oiled machine. You usually got discharged fom active duty after 2-4 years active service, for me 4 years. Going back to civilian life was 1 of the hardest adjustments I've ever had to do. That was one of the reasons i ended up retiring from a medical career.
So cool! Was an engineer on the Carl V and my brother was the waist cat CPO, I spent a lot of time watching cat shots when I was supposed to be sleeping. Amazingly how they launch and the cues from the flight deck personnel to get you lined up to your catapult.

Wow seems like a very stressful activity but this man makes it so calm and gives so much detail it make me feel like I could launch from a carrier. Great video my man!
Just found your channel a few days ago. These videos are truly superlative. The videography is top notch. The narration is great both from a content perspective as well as just being pleasant to listen to because of the tonal quality of your voice. The fact that you take a moment of relative inactivity to explain other things like you did in the beginning of this video narrating what was happening with the first plane on the catapult and then the explanation about the island is really good. Keep up the good work Sir and thanks for your service.
Your casual play-by-play with a voice sounding like a guy outta high school has me riveted knowing it anything but relaxed depicting your training, discipline, & commitment to service. Thank you, sir

Another awesome Jam with how you explain a lot of what is going on, geez how can you see where to go with all that rain and steam yikes. Thank you Pail for all you put into your Jams...Polly!
Thanks as always for this! Loved the extra commentary about the ship ops/island layout as well!
Well, I'm only an Army grunt but I have mad respect for all you do brother. Was nice knowing you guys were around to watch our ass in OIF 2. Look forward to more. Get us some outside shots of that bird.
Thanks for the battlefield 3 remastered walk through tutorial.
I was stuck on just this part of the mission but you guided me through so thanks.
😏
This is so cool to see, my dad helps design the jamming pods for these Growlers and seeing them in action is awesome!
If you ever get tired of being a Naval aviator you could have a very successful career in film making. That was fantastic film making. Well done sir. Stay safe out there. 🥂
Wow, thanks!
yep buddy, mounting that gopro on a tax payer funded plane so these guys can arse about in the air for no good reason.... it's awesome! it's next level. 🤣🤣
You have the calmest voice. Absolutely love it. Every one of your videos is both super chill and just amazing because there's nothing like a jet taking off, and though I was on Air Force bases, there's still that same exhilaration every time!
Cheers!
It never ceases to amaze me that more aircraft, vehicles, and people do not go rolling off the deck--especially with all of the movement involved with each aircraft. Great video!
Yeah i dont know how i got sleepy all of a sudden in the morning while watching this video but I found out it's his delivery that got me snoozy lol. Nice!
Thank you for your service to our country! I am overwhelmed to see the unity of our men and women in the armed forces working and fighting together! That is what our country is supposed to be about! God bless you! God bless America!
Giggled like a child man, What a neat, neat thing to point out and show off! 10/10 Something I never thought about until I read the title. Thanks for your service and for making the video!
Glad you enjoyed it!
What a thrilling account! So well composed and narrated. The tone of the voice of the pilot conveys the professionalism of these pilots.
Im an old Jaguar guy,,but im amazed at what you water bourne fly boys can do 🏴🇺🇸🙏
56 ? 226? Ex ground crew from Lossie early 80's 😊
Strange, 8 months ago you claimed to be a Tonka pilot…
@@tonyf9076 *54 ;) 56 were Frightning, Phantom and Tonka :) The 80's were good days, you saw the last years of what was once a decent RAF.
@@Ecthaelyon 56 aka Shifty Fix. There was some old guff about Firebirds in there as well.
Huge congratulations on 100k subscribers 🎉
No surprise though, your channel is awesome. You caught me off guard with the early release of this one. Everyone on the deck earning their keep in weather like that. Super stuff, thank you again for taking us with you for the ride... Fly Navy😎💪🏼
Thanks!
A quick jam before I go to work. Hello from Australia
Good Morning!
Cheers!
may we all remain THIS calm under all circumstances 🙌🏻
Your casual play-by-play with a voice sounding like a guy outta high school has me riveted knowing it anything but relaxed depicting your training, discipline, & commitment to service. Thank you, sir
Cheers!
The respect you have for the deck crew is truly humble. They work hard, as I’m sure you know
Former AME1 from VFA-151, here. Thank you, sir! That brings back memories. Great job, shipmate.
TYFYS.
Top gun but in the cockpit, I’m a firefighter/paramedic n watching this I think I picked the wrong profession. What a gift to be able to see things from your point of view, super chill voice, loved every second. I’d sell my soul to be able to ride in one of those bad boys…what a blast! Thank you for your service! ❤
Welcome aboard!
Good to see you as always, Pail! Only you can make an intense takeoff on the rain as relaxing as an ASMR video. Fly Navy 🫡
I was Air Force but damn I would've loved to be launching off that carrier deck and making those short landings like you guys get to do, that adrenaline has to be flowing when you are new to that.
I love this because my dad Was a fighter pilot back then and I want to become one too.
make it happen, dude. Best of luck
@@GilbertdeClare0704 i'll try
@@XVI8. Give it all you've got and you WILL get there ! My dad did in WW2, and I flew MY way (aerobatics and Skydiving). I wish you BLUE skies to get there. Go for it, dude.
I watched this at 00:57 because I couldn’t sleep and it came across my UA-cam feed. What an awesome video, made me feel like a fighter jet pilot, Salute to Growler Jams and those who serve
Glad you enjoyed it!
Sir, as always, a great narration/explanation of the flight deck procedures! Thank you for the added description of the island and different levels/bridges! What I wouldn't give to fly with you, Sir! It would be an honor!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Fascinating. Thanks. Fly Navy!

7:40 when i ask my gf to be gentle
😂
When I asked you about the jam pics a while ago, I never thought, or could never have even imagined, how enormously they'd going to help me. 😃 Especially on one certain day. They've been and still are a big help. I'm using every single day the pics and jams to train.
I'm so grateful to you for your help!!! 😊 💕💕💕 A big, varm THANK YOU a thousand times!!! 💜💜💜
You are protecting us back home in any weather conditions! Thank you, Sir!
Wow‼️ down the UA-cam rabbit hole at 4:45 in the morning I find this gem of a channel. Sir, you have a new subscriber
Welcome aboard!
Thank you for your service-it’s guys like you we support!
This is the greatest UA-cam channel of all time. My pulse doubled when you hit “go time”. Beautiful.
Cheers!
This was pretty cool. I was waist cat crew on the Roosevelt from 04 to the end of 09 with 2 deployments during that period. I really enjoyed it.
I've never actually seen a cat launch from this perspective. I really liked the commentary too.
This really brings back memories. Thank you so much.
TYFYS.
Waist cat here, Reagan 03-07
Very interesting and soothing narration. Thank you and thanks for your service. Fly safe!
I really love this style of communication! So much so that I’ve wondered about becoming an NCO. Regardless, I’m encouraged I’m able to engage with it through you and plenty of others online. I’ve taken that for granted for most of my life.
Air Force veteran here... did family day on the Big "E" in Norfolk, followed by family day on Stennis years later. Props to Navy pilots, the best.
TYFYS.
This is one of the coolest videos I've seen in a while. I loved the explanations of what was going on while you waited to take off. Thank you for your service.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Wow! What a view! Can really see now why Emals is such a leap for carriers! In a battle situation there would be even more steam so a multiplying effect at the worst time. Thank you for sharing sir, stay safe!
I actually struggle to sleep some nights because of trauma i have suffered over a few years. Your voice notes are great for soothing the soul and help me drift off. Same as a Mr Jason Fox audiobooks. Its a compliment. Not to mention the educational side of your videos. You should consider doing voice over work. Safe travels brother. Ex RAF 🇺🇸♥️🇬🇧🎖💂♂️
@Growlerjams Best Outro Ever!!!! 👍💯👍💯👍💯👍💯 Fly Safe dude!
Best voice my man. You sound like Bob Ross but with jets. So calm, but excited to do what you do
Nice video! As a former A-4 Skyhawk maintainer, I feel obliged to mention that the A-4C Skyhawk *did* have a windshield wiper! Later versions had engine bleed air blown over the windscreen as a rain removal method. Hadn't thought about the Hornet not having a similar feature... or at least it's not obvious.
Man, I dig this channel. We’ve seen this perspective before. But the exact narration makes it unique - with a great presentation. For us plane heads - this is gold.
You're Sir are Awesome!! 💥
The same what I thought! Kids would fall asleep so cozy and have beautiful dreams with his soft voice in their ears… 😊
