mate just a side note. make sure the modified 79series air box outlet tube diameter where the MAF is located is exactly the same size as the original 4JJ1 otherwise the air speed would be different and the sensor would report false reading back to the ECU.
Did u open it up at all mate? Carbon clean or valve clearances? Curious coz I have the same year 4j and am toying with throwing some power her way, thanks in advance
awesome series this one, love engine swaps, especially interesting ones
Thanks for tuning in.
No better feeling than that first start up! Well done
Absolutely. Thanks for watching 👍🏼

Cheers lad. It would be within a couple of mm as it fits back into the factory intake pipe.
It has to be identical or you WILL have problems@smarttouringsystems-garage
Nice work on the shroud! Engine drive fan for the win every time.

No we didn’t mate. Sort of didn’t want to fix something that isn’t broken.
What happened to the deep cycle systems logo - it has been dropped off your intro?
why the Isuzu was picked as a donor? just curious about the options... as in my country there are plenty Toyotas and Isuzus
We like the affordability and reliability of the 4j, and also the fact it’s a little different for a 60 series. 👍🏼
Life would’ve been so much better with a custom alloy or stainless air box
Yeah it’s a cost thing and I like they it looks factory as much cheaper as possible.
I like the concept of the newer engine. But with all the sensors and shit in them its a turn off. Its slow, but i like my simple 2h.
Yeah I know what you mean but they are still a fairly simple design.
Isuzu engine is much better than a dirty old 2h
