BUILDING SIDESTEPS WITH A DIFFERENCE | 60 SERIES LANDCRUISER PART 9
Переглядів 2,4 тис.9 днів тому
One of the last custom parts for Lazarus is the side steps. I had plan for these to be quite different in design and give the appearance of the car being higher of the ground without lifting the suspension, which will allow us to completely fill the gaurds with a 33 inch tire. I love the look of a big tire in a low truck but also didn't want it to look like the belly of the truck was too low! -...
CUSTOM LASER CUT ROOF RACK MOUNT | 60 SERIES LANDCRUISER PART 8
Переглядів 2,3 тис.20 днів тому
For this build its very important that we not only make it look good but it also must be practical as a camping & touring vehicle and when we are talking about a wagon, the roof rack is very important for carrying the swag, firewood, attaching an awning, and whatever else we decide to take with us on coming trips in the 60 series. We couldn't just bolt on some off the shelf racks though and hav...

Time to make the 79 perform the way it should from the factory, the guys at Ultimate diesel tune tuned my last 79 and we had a good run with it so we are back again for round 2. LANDCRUISER FRONT QUARTER CHOP | 60 SERIES LANDCRUISER PART 7
Переглядів 2,9 тис.2 місяці тому
Things really got out of hand in this episode, the day started just wanting to trial fit the winch and ended with fully customising the front bar, including cutting the bottom off the front quarters to allow the bar to sweep back in under and finish at the tire like a modern vehicle does now. After completing the job and standing back and having a good look at it we realised this is how it shou...
UNIQUE ENGINES IN UNLIKELY CARS | JUNKYARD REVIEW 2
Переглядів 2,5 тис.3 місяці тому
This ep of junkyard reviews is full of unique variants of what are very common 4x4's. It seemed every time we turned around there was another cool car with a unique engine under the bonnet. To the outright slow and underpowered dinosaur diesel Toyotas, to modern jeeps with Hemi power, the yard was full of cool stuff. To finish off the ep we stumble across what is an extreme case of neglect and ...

Time for the GVM/GCM upgrade, but this time we do it a bit different and get the work completed after the vehicle is registered. There were a lot of people telling us that it was so much harder and way more expensive to do it this way. Well we were pleasantly surprised how cost effective and easy it is. ULTIMATE STEREO SOLUTION | 79 SERIES LANDCRUISER BUILD PART 4

In this episode, we continue to fix the new 79 series shortcomings on the inside with what I think is the best solution to the lack of a stereo that comes standard, a centre console you can rest your arm on, seat covers to make the seats more comfortable, durable moulded floor mats and of course the mandatory Clear View mirrors to replace the standard manual mirrors. Loving it man. Keep the content coming 🔥
Thanks mate.

👍🏼
I’ve been waiting for a engine swap just like this.
What a great project. Bring out some Velcro patches.
Great idea!
Very interesting choice of motor. Very excited to see what comes next.
Thanks for watching. 👍🏼
Great little episode Adam. Really enjoying this little build.Looking forward to the next episodes.
Thanks for tuning in mate.
Cool Ep and lovely choice guys, but you make me laugh you said you do not like the 4 cylinder auto in the 79. but buy one to fit in the 60 series, haha
Thanks for watching Craig and yes very valid point about not liking the 4 cylinder in the 79, but the 4j is a great budget friendly easy to work on reliable conversion for the STS GARAGE skill set (haha) and we wanted to try something a little different. As always thanks for tuning in.
@@smarttouringsystems-garage No worries I love you channel . I am just back from 4weeks fishing at McGowans island beach in the kimberley and did the tanimi and plenty on the way home before that i had 4 weeks at penny up near weipa fishing i did 17,800ks in the two trips, our old 1HZ 80 with nearly 900,000ks on her did me proud.
Would you consider making to the public?
Thanks for watching. It's something I would like to be able to do, but I currently do not have the time.
Nice job m8. Love people keeping these 60's on the road.
Thanks 👍
4j?
3pm today, all will be revealed. Full episode out very soon.
G’day Adam When you changed front drums to 60 series Disc brakes did you buy the front hub rebuild kit for a 40 series or a 60 series? Doing mine soon 1982 HJ47.
To be honest mate I can’t remember, I doubt there would be to much difference.
Absolutely love the look and design and thinking of doing something similar for my 60. Amy chance you have the measurements you sent off for it to be cut?
Flick me an email mate and I’ll draw it for you. smarttouringsystems@gmail.com
Looks good, but from experience those brackets aren't going to cut it.
Yeah mate fair call. I doubt it will end up being a rock crawler though.
I've just had too many beer but does the new 70 series headlights fit the 60 series ?
😂 na mate totally different.
Nice work.. much respect for doing something different! I think they look great.
Much appreciated
Gday mate, love the video I've ordered the same set. Everyone is telling me I need an amp with it, are you happy with the sound you get or wish you installed a bigger amp? (Im not looking to rattle the windows with music but trying to get it right first time and not have to rewire)
I was very happy with it mate, I have the little amp in behind the stereo
Great work Adam, nice and solid and the effort in the profile/shape is worth it
Thanks a mate.
Good job
Thanks for watching. 👍🏼
Merci pour la video Andre Québec
Great vid. I got the facelift 79 2 door... still no tray, bare bones. Still deciding weather ill do it myslef. Think it would be heaps easier than the 4 door? Cheers mate
Yeah single cab will be much easier mate.
Not looking at a 76, but your video's have been a great learning tool for if and when I get myself a 78 Troopy
Glad to hear it helped.
Thanks bro, keep them coming
about to order one for my Jeep
What 16” alloy wheels are they ?
ROH assault in a neg 12
I know the pain guys, many roofs have bloody curved sills and the prices of A/M parts are simply bullsh1t. The issue I see here with yours is that all the weigfht is held by the screws and those tabs. Many get stuck on the weight of what they put on but forget about the real reason for the limit, hit the anchors hard or have a vehicle impact and that weight up there amplifies and usually keeps going. The "backbones" need to be folded under the sill to grab in the moment of brown-pants stop/hit.
That is a great point and yes we will be careful not to load it up too much .
@@smarttouringsystems-garage I have had urges in the past to drop the head lining and insert a doubler plate behind roof skin and use a heap of RivNuts to propperly secure a low profile rack on hard points like many light to heavy trucks have.
This is a solid video and i really enjoy it. More detail the better for me.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching.👍🏼
45 grand
hey i wanted to ask you where did you buy your led front lights ... they look amazing
Hey mate the lights are std.
Nice video, I’m enjoying the whole build. Thanks.
Doing well
Awesome as mate
Gday mate. Why did you choose Dwiz over others ie Jmacx etc? Thanks in adv
I had just heard good things mate and the price seemed reasonable.
@@smarttouringsystems-garage yeah mate I think the load ratings a couple hundred kgs higher on em too. Cheers
Hi Mate, what sort of winch and backing plate for stock bar
WINCH INSTALL INTO FACTORY BUMBER | 79 SERIES LANDCRUISER BUILD PART 6 ua-cam.com/video/t98hwPnY2rw/v-deo.html
I have one question for you. When you’re going at 100 km an hour or trying to upper hill with your foot flat to the floor we are honestly in fourth gear ? Why did you not change down to third gear? They love a few rev’s and go much better! Honestly I drive mine LC87 at 100 km an hour and third gear a few times each week it’s actually good for the engine. Keep up the great videos anyway
Give her more revs you reckon. 😂👍🏼 thanks for tuning in.
@@smarttouringsystems-garage yes more rev’s is good and too lower revs causes leads engine damage. I am a motorcycle engineer by Trade, but got to do many thousands of kilometres driving preproduction and production coaches around Europe and the engineers at M.A.N said the engine developed to run all the way up to the Red Line. Plus all the large coaches I drive had a green zone And to drive around Netherlands where the speed limit for large coaches was 80 km an hour at the time I was working in Europe this me driving all day long in fifth gear instead of sixth gear. If it changed up to 6th gear it would not be in the green zone which is the meaning the engine is labouring causing engine damage, changing down to 5th gear would keep it in the green zone just on the red line. Was also interesting because one of the coaches I drove had 480 hp (may have been 480 km) anyway driving with a full load of passengers aboard up the Italian Dolomites at 100 km now would cause the engine to start overheating and you would have to change down a gear and let it rev up to cool down a bit of this meant I ended up only doing 85 to 90 km an hour up the mountain. On the two trips I drove with this pre-production vehicle. I informed them that they needed a bigger radiator but they informed me had the maximum size radiator that could be fitted in any coaches. When the production model came out the maximum power rating was 420 and this is why the powers dropped so the engine was more stable and did not overheat with the radiator size. The same engine was also in some trucks and in these vehicles because they could have a much larger radiator the maximum power was over 500. So when people say they are tuning them to get more power, there’s quite reason why the manufactures not back the power from the factory, sometimes it’s for the reason above and sometimes it’s for market requirements, pollution requirements of some countries at sold in.
I’ve got a set Dever HD3’s I had bought for my Raptor I knew they were super stiff , but I tow with my truck , but when we put them on even after broke them in they are still super stiff so, I’m going give this a shot… I haven’t been off road since I put them because stiffness the rear. Great video. Thanks
Thanks for tuning in, hope it helps.
@@smarttouringsystems-garage it did quite a bit . Thanks😀
Bring on the montage
That was the standard head unit that the cruiser comes with yeah?
Yeah mate standard for 2024
Shared in Tindonkeys and Iron Horse 4wd and fishing club
Thanks very much. 👍🏼
Nice one and thanks for sharing. Cheers. ps: Don't waste your money with Renogy panels in future, they're rubbish for the price and there;s better out there from reputable OZ companies unlike the non existant Renogy after sales
Thanks for watching.
Great video guys! I was struggling to find a reverse camera for my face lift 79 but glad to see you were able to use this one and easily install it.
Glad it was helpful!
Great Idea, removal Solar panels. Gives you so many options to use the roof racks. Doesn't matter that you are advertising your own products. It's easy to take a Solar Blanket instead of the panels if necessary. .
For more info and to purchase the solar brackets visit. www.smarttouringsystems.com.au/store/p20/Quick_Fit_Solar_Clip.html
There was definitely some editing during the warranty convo..
Not really mate. That was what he said. 🤔
Its on Superior Engineerings website saying you can now get a GVM/GCM upgrade done and engineered in Qld using the Lovells kit
Yeah nice.
Fully custom is a bit a stretch for Ultimate.
Good install Adam, does what you need it to do 🤙🏻
Thanks 👍
Toyota are legit taking you all for a ride, no reverse camera like WTF. Also that placement is horrible with the black line. But yeah nice looking ride.
Is necessary to say that Toyota should do that 4 time mate? Very feminine! If you decided get the car, do stuff and move on !
@ninjaelvesninjaelves5152 Is it necessary to be a sook and complain about it? Very feminine! Just watch it and move on.
