Thanks for watching! :)
I've been wanting to make this video for the longest time, and I'm so happy that I was finally able to! I love this longboard brand and think that not enough people are aware of it, so hopefully I can get that to change, starting with this review!

So I'm currently using iMovie on my MacBook to edit these videos, but I'm hoping that over the coming months I can save up enough money to purchase Final Cut Pro X, because editing is really important to me, and I'm somewhat limited with that I can do in a timely fashion in iMovie; so expect the editing to get even better over time, and for now, thanks for your patience.
Leave me feedback in the comments, post suggestions for what you all want to see in the future for videos....should I expand to other sports too? I'm very involved with running and ultimate frisbee along with skateboarding....I may consider adding those genres of videos too.
Make sure to share this video through any means you can if you want to help support me, It would mean a lot, thank you!

Hey guys, I made an updated long-term review on this board that isn't NEARLY as cringe as this dated one lmao. Here's the link ^-^
ua-cam.com/video/mmNIzuFE6IQ/v-deo.html
I’m looking to cop a used tan tien atm and your review just sold me more to it 🤘
Glad I could help! It really is a great board that'll last years
Ogden Sikel I couldn’t afford this board a few years back. Fast forward to 2020. I now can afford to buy it. I just ordered it yesterday from Daddies Board Shop. I got the flex 3. Thanks for the review.
Do you think longboards are better for beginners ? And how do u like your board ?
Great video mate, easy to watch 👍
One thing, I would have liked to have seen more footage of you riding the board around, carving, etc.
Thank you! This was my first review video, and I’ve learned a lot since then, so hopefully future board reviews are much better. More shots of riding and improved audio are two main things I’ll be addressing in future videos! Thanks for the feedback
speed wobble is from unequal weight distribution on the board, where the back trucks turn when the front trucks stay straight. Doesnt matter how big the hill
Thanks for review, man! I gonna build kit based on Tan Tien deck. It will be my first board, i live in Moscow, Russia and i hope it will handle russian roads pretty well :)
Sweet! Let me know how it goes!
@@OgdenSikel well, last part (wheels) arrived yesterday, so i finished board assembly and made a first ride, it rides pretty well and smooth even with my poor riding skills. Everything cool
@@prof.creeper5641 awesome!
@@OgdenSikel btw, i wanted to ask how it deals with some *extreme* conditions like temperature fluctuations, rain, etc. Is there any significant negative impact from that?
@@prof.creeper5641 great question! ive ridden the board in extreme temps. (34 degrees F, 100 degrees F), and have had no issues with the temperature. As for rain, I try to avoid rain at all costs because wood doesn't do well with it. That being said I would guess it would hold up better than many boards due to the fiberglass core of the deck. TLDR; Temp is fine, but avoid rain when possible.
Just bought it!!! So exited 😍😍😍
That thing about longevity is no joke. I’ve had my dervish for like 12 years and it’s still going strong
not sure if my Tan Tien will last THAT long (since I put that thing through so much shit), but I can definitely see loaded boards lasting decades
Yeah, once you start tricking with them boards tend to go pretty fast
Great review, it helped a lot!
Thats actually a really good looking board
Right??
Just bought a used deck for $20, looks like I made the right choice!
wow 20 dollars?! amazing!
Just bought it as good as new for only 160 euro, with orangatang new orange wheels, the dude only used it for 2 months, I got so lucky with this deal
THATS SO GOOD
@@OgdenSikel real nice that u still read the comments! I subbed
Great video! Did the board gain much flex? How much do you weigh?
Thank you!! I haven’t noticed any difference in flex...I’m sure it’s gained a little but nothing noticeable; I weight around 140lbs, or about 63kgs
Great video! Could I use this for going down steep hills at all if I tighten the trucks? I just bought a flex 1 deck, would that help for hills?
Yeah! For very fast downhill it may be ideal to get harder Durometer bushings so you don’t tighten them to oblivion, but it’ll definitely work for downhill
Do you think this board would get wheel bite with 80mm or 85mm wheels?
ive put 73mm on it with a ton of extra room, so I think 80mm would be perfect. 85mm would also probably work but i cannot 100% confirm that.
@@OgdenSikel sweet, thank you. Most likely gonna put some kegels on my tien when it finally gets here lol
hey, why not do a review on the landyachtz battle axe or drop cat?
im looking for a new longboard but don't know if i want the tan tien or dervish sama. i want to be able to do tricks and dancing but also cruising.
The tan tien will be able to do all of those things, but dancing will suffer a little because it is a shorter board. Doesn’t stop me though...the dervish sama is longer and better for dancing, but is harder to do some tricks on. I personally really like my tan tien over the dervish sama because it is a great all around board that can do just about everything above average.
Which flex should I get ? I’m 164 pounds and looking to use it for cruising, free ride, commuting and light down hill
Flex 1 or 2 will both work great for you. If you like super flexy decks (think almost like a trampoline) get the flex 2. Otherwise the flex 2 will still be flexy but will have a little extra rigidity to it!
Thanks a lot for the video! :) I just got myself one and I'm super excited, there's just one thing I'm trying to figure out: which wheels to get for the deck. What durometer are yours? I really wish I could get the Orang 77a Stims (pretty color lmao) but I'm pretty sure those are too soft
I have the orangatang stims in yellow (whatever duro that is)! I’ve also used sharkwheels on it. Both are great, overall it’s one of the best boards ever!
I don’t think u actually did 30 push ups😄, did chu?
Meti Omod I DID I SWEARR
Just gotta wait for a flex 2 to become available
Everything’s sold out );
Is this good for freestyling? I'm a beginner and I don't know what to buy
Yeah! Its what I've been using for freestyle and dancing. The board is on the smaller end though, so if that is all you want to use it for, I'd go for something larger, and potentially top-mounted (think the shape of crownboards). If not, the tan tien is really the ultimate "all around" board because you can do practically anything and everything on it, at or above average.
@@OgdenSikel thank you man
is the bored good for speed not on hills
Great question! I find the board to be great at cruising around, and I've never had problems with feeling too slow. I would recommend putting in some bones reds bearings in...they make the board keep its speed much longer than the stock ones. From my experience with riding fast down hills, I would say anything above 30mph (48kph) will cause speed wobbles and be unsafe. TLDR; Speed is great with bones reds bearings.
@@OgdenSikel cheers mate. Very underrated channel you deserve more subs
@@genemarram9305 Thank you!!! Hopefully I keep growing because the grind never stops ;D
