Funeral Flight To Georgia

- Jaime and I depart Chicago Aurora Airport (ARR) VFR and pick up our IFR flight plan in the air from Chicago Approach and head down to Rome, Georgia (RMG) for my Grandmothers funeral. My Grandmother was able to live more than 90 good years and will be missed. RIP Grandma...Love you.

I am so sorry to hear what happened to your grandma
It feels strange when your last grand parent leaves. When you're young they're just solid fixtures in your life and you can't imagine what life is without them. Then the first one goes, then the next and you know it's not going to stop...just enjoy them while you can, keep them alive in memories and talk about them often at holidays. We always show the home movies on reel to reel on Thanksgiving and Christmas. It also lets your kids keep them in mind.

So sorry Kevin ang Jamie. My Grandfather passed 2 years ago at 101 years old. He too lived through the depression and had stories to tell. During WWll he was a B17 gunner instructor in Las Vegas. He did not see combat but he taught a lot of young soldiers. He took me flying with his PPL in his C170 when I was around 3 years old (1970). I got my PPL in 2002 and was so grateful that I got to take him flying and let him manipulate the controls. What a full circle moment. Be well. Thanks for the Vlog.
I'm sorry for your loss. Your videos make me a little jealous though. I'd love to learn to fly, I'm 64 and still have that dream of learning before, well you know. LOL
I'm 52, and I am still holding out hope. Two things, it has become so expensive to learn, and I have some eye issues that may stop or slow me down.

It always hurts to lose someone. It sounds like she had a great life on earth.
The Greatest Generation won’t be around for long to confirm first hand our history books... my mentor passed away in July of 2019 at 97 and was with the 6th Bomb Group and involved with the Enola Gay. I miss him dreadfully.... It’s astonishing how those of late think removing our books will actually change our true history... Dumb Asses... sorry for your loss.☹️

I lost my mother in January, she was 94. We went back to Toccoa for the funeral. We are praying for you and your family during this time. All my best! JTF

Sorry for your loss. Our aunt passed away last year. She was over 100 and it was fascinating to talk to her about how different life was when she was growing up. I'm glad you were able to share those experiences with your grandmother.

My deepest condolences for the loss of your grandmother. I thought it was so nice to mention the "snow cream" she made. The great Texas Valentine Blizzard of 2021 gave me the opportunity to make a bowl using my grandmother's recipe. Those little things really stick in a child/adults loving memory. By the way, the tail camera is awesome!

Snow Ice Cream is not bad, BUT substituting fresh fluffy snow for ice in a frozen margarita IS THE BOMB DIGGITY SMOOTH!! Highly recommended. Kudos to Grandma for being one the greatest generation in the history of the planet. We need more of that generation, not less. Sorry for your loss.
RE: Flying cars in the 2070s - Wouldn't 2 ATCs be the first to tell the public that there's NO WAY flying cars are logistically realistic. Technologically doable but societally not. A few thousand highly trained people flying now is difficult enough for the "system" but what would happen with tens (hundreds?) of millions of aircraft in the sky and how would the all be handled / controlled. Sorry for being Buzzkill Bobby over here.
