I used to go see The Fox do this alllll night long at the Fox Inn on Wilshire, two doors east of 26th, in Santa Monica. Went out for a beer and pizza at a local. Beer was better, but not the entertainment. "Oh, I know a girl whose name is Jill. Hey lawdy, lawdy lo. If she won't -uck me, her sister will. I think everyone wasn't acting as The Fox just cleaned out that mug of beer that quickly. They were genuinely shocked at the fact that The Fox drank that so quickly

@@Doggeslife IDK where you grew up, or how old you are, but anyone going to UCLA or Santa Monica City College, in 1970 or so, or who lived on the Westside, knew this guy and his Rathskeller and kept the place jammed. Always. I'm damned lucky to have lived there at that time.
"Taxi" first aired in 1978. Laugh tracks originated in the 1950s. "I Love Lucy" had one. The first live audience sitcom I can recall is Happy Days in the mid-1970s. I finally got around to bingewatching Taxi a couple years ago. As soon as that beer disappeared, I knew that was The Fox

I dated a girl from NYC who grew up near Tony Danzi. She told me he never acted in any of the TV shows he was on, he was just being himself.
