They don't keep inviting him back because he's bad at comedic acting. He's great in all his comedy roles, it's just he's just even better at dramatic roles and those are what get most of the attention.
I love that it's his 100% serious delivery and absolute dedication that makes this funny. It's such a different take doing comedy that way.

THIS is the sketch that needed to be 6 minutes long. Major props to whoever wrote it. The inner monologue of the baby was just so on point.
"Is he pooping, I don't like the way he's looking at me!?" Adam Driver is the GOAT! His commitment to each sketch is amazing! You wouldn't think such a serious actor would be this funny, but he nails it every time!
I work with babies around that age and this was 100% baby representation at its finest. Such smooth transition between the peek a boo and large poop. The scream after poop is optional, but I liked how Adam D delivered it.

It’s concerning for a person who claims they work with babies to treat a snl satire skit as something 100% realistic to life. Either your lying, purposely exaggerating, or have never had any real experience with a baby besides observing one cry and scream on a public transport.

Whoever wrote this PERFECTLY captured the cognitions of a baby & how they feel in different situations without the capacity to express their thoughts & feelings, except that Adam Driver ALSO expresses them. Brilliant AND hilarious!

@@ABC-sz7rdHe was one of the few good things that came out of that trainwreck of a Disney trilogy. And yes, the shortcomings of the Kylo Ren character (or pretty much all the characters for that matter) shouldn't be blamed on him but the incompetence of the writers and directors of the trilogy.
The fact that Adam magically captures the essence of a young baby in his gestures and inner thinking said out loud is pure genius. He really is a terrific actor 😎👏🏽

The background actors deserve a special shoutout for keeping straight faces throughout the hijinks
I think Lorne threatens to shoot them if they break and the fear of actual death keeps them grounded.
They do have the advantage of not actually seeing the players, especially Adam's great facial variations. But I did notice the white-haired lady in the back nearly jump out of her seat at 1:14 with Chloe's startled "Baby Monster!"

The guy in green on the back row was obviously channeling the last flight that he was on with a baby. The side eye and then back to his phone was perfect.
I love the call back. She said she was scared he was overcooked since she was pregnant for 2 years. Back in Adam’s teacher sketch he was born 7 months early and put into a pizza oven until he was “ripe”. 😂😂😂😂

Adam Driver is one of the few hosts who could have played this part. He gets the balance just right in the screaming and crying and all the rest. You can tell they had a lot of trust in him to give him this type of sketch.

Hard disagree. Thompson so often smiles his way through a scene, wholly inappropriately, ruining any sense of character. His delivery of that line (at 3:19 ), in particular, was an especially unfortunate example. Totally agree. Keenan is a nice guy but all his characters are essentially the same. Rarely does he make me laugh.

It’s like his delivery and professionalism has hardly evolved since he was a kid on that terrible 3rd rate Nickelodeon sketch show “All That”, and that show was childish even for kids. He was fine in that black jeopardy skit but the writing and guest performances carried him.
A character break used to be understandable and relatable when it happened every once in a while, because you knew that things had gotten so silly that even the VERY PROFESSIONAL performer was struggling to keep it together.
Now it seems like they purposefully play into it which ruins the integrity of whatever premise they are presenting, on which (in an intelligently written sketch) the landing of the jokes rely on.
This is like the equivalent of a toddler cracking himself up while saying “knock knock” and then forgetting the punchline. Sure, maybe cute when they do it, but fucking embarrassing in any other context.
If babies can talk like adults. Adam Driver definitely plays a good baby in this skit. 😂❤
Adam Driver rocks every damn sketch that he is in. No matter the role, he will nail it, and he will make it funny. Even when the sketch itself isn't that great. This one was hilarious. I love his dedication to every character no matter who, or what he's playing. As I always say, he is the best host of SNL of all time, and I wish he were a permanent part of the cast. Like Kenan permanent.😉

Most new SNL disappoints me, however I could not stop laughing Adam Driver makes this work!
This is an instant classic, absolute 10 out of 10 SNL performance.
Baby driver having a 40 year old man's scream truly made that for me hilarious sketch of the night 🤣.
Adam's acting ability and the writers for his entire episode, ended up with probably the best overall SNL episode in 20 years.
He did a great job portraying and saying exactly what babies would think. Very funny!!

Adam is one of the best hosts ever, which is for some reason, surprising. One of my favorite sketches ever is him playing the old tycoon.

I just sat on a flight last weekend from Miami to Philadelphia with that baby. If not for that experience this sketch might have gone over my head. I have a whole new respect for Adam Driver. He nailed it!!!

Adam Driver's ability to commit to a role, no matter what, is truly amazing.
I was watching this skit thinking it would be stupid, but midway, I was laughing my A off. The facial expressions, mannerisms of the actors, then the stuffed animal portion was brilliant.
