It's already beautiful without the ability to transform. The only thing that stops me from buying every single one of these is the fact they cost a fortune.
It's amazing to me how ROTF Leader Optimus Prime could replicate so much of the detail seen here in a $2300 statue. It's been said a million times but the designers really went above and beyond with the mold, something that can't be said for the AOE Optimus mold.
I love the amount of detail that's in this! I'm more into figures really though, not statues... It's a shame you have to give up articulation for so much detail and vice versa. (Don't get be wrong SC do succeed with the Iron Man Hot Toys) But just imagine if this guy was articulated, the poses and stances you could do :O
DarkShadowStorm I think you need to look at things in the proper perspective. To create this look and such in the film, it took millions and millions of parts moving. Those details are all there and in order to get him to articulate, you'd need those millions of parts too. It's not realistic to want that sort of stuff. This is infinitely more detailed than anything that Sideshow or Hot Toys makes, but to get articulation in things, a lot of sacrifices in terms of the look have to be made. Hot Toys and SSC kinda cheat in that they can cover their figures in clothing and such too.
DarkShadowStorm I think the Threezero figures might suit your needs for the balance between details and articulation. Not as arty as Prime 1s but sure look great and fully articulate, and of course 1/5 the cost.
Incredible detail and accuracy, hats off to whoever designed this amazing thing. But the price... oh God. Also, love the format, it's kinda better to actually see optibotimus himself talk and show everything when he's on screen rather than seeing just the reviewed item, and there's also some camera work involed here, which is also cool.
Incredible, just incredible.... just bought the Sideshow Maquette (Really cheap) and best time to buy it now a lot of high end collectors are selling it very cheap and want to get this big Guy!
ScotiaTechReviews My wife did it. She does the best she can. I'm usually all over the place talking and she works hard to keep up and keep things in frame as i talk about various aspects
The thing about Megatron's shotgun is because in fact Optimus uses it at the end of The Dark Of The Moon to finish with nothing less than Sentinel Prime, that's why it's among its accessories.
My girlfriend has Starscream on preorder through Sideshow and the delays are killing her. It's understandable you might not get him due to the cost of these things and most people hate his design so it's amazing they even made him at all, but it would have been cool to see you do a review for him, especially since you have Megs and Optimus to do a size comparison with all three of them + you and the cats in the vid really puts it in perspective how massive these works of art are.
Great review as always; I'm so in love with that statue of Optimus Prime, if I would only have the room to display them, I would finance it in a heartbeat. Thank you for sharing such amazing works of art.
After seeing it in the background on your ustream I have been waiting for this. Truly stunning work of art! I think Galvatron would look really cool tho. Thanks for posting early!
I really wish they would do a DotM Megatron. Personally the DotM Megatron looks best and I'd love to see him in a giant glorious statue. Also the amount of details in the DotM Megatron would make it a great peice. Maybe they will if they included his shotgun with the limited version of this Prime. Can't wait to see how amazing the other statues are. Great review as always!
Good. Lord. That looks incredibly in every way. Like I said in the Megatron review. If one can afford something like this, they will love it. Very awesome review on this. I've been waiting for it.
When I noticed that MP-10 in the corner, before he even gets it, I just think the MP-10 is there like "Damn Mocie verse Prime getting all the attention, while I'm here getting old and staying classy". I know I have an imagination too wild, but that made me laugh.
I didn't care a lot about the Ultimetal version, until I got them. Yeah, it is like MP10, but when I hold it, and when I see the mouth plate moving, it is just magical! The hot toys Starscream Optimus is also great a piece, but just not in the same league with these two. The coming threezero Bumblebee and Megatron are impressive as well, but just couldn't justify the purchase when I have the prime 1s (ordered the APU and Chappie from them though, glorious pieces). Looking forward to your Bumblebee review. BTW, love your cats.
Gosh...i agree that this is at a level of an art piece I hate the movie series but this statue is just too beautifully made After seeing your review I just wish I can see it in person and the cat cameos are nice haha~
I really wanna get this Optimus figure. I saw it previewed at Comic-Con last year at the sideshow booth. I fell in love. These things hold their value also. The original movieverse Prime maquette from Sideshow is still selling for $1800 and up on the secondary market. I just received the Prime 1 studios Optimus Prime bust today and it's a beauty and a nice alternative for those that don't have $2300 (even on the payment plan) to blow. I'm about to log onto Sideshow right now to drool. Thanks a bunch *****! LOL. BTW best review ever.
lol... I did with this video review exactly what I did with your Ultra Magnus review. I actually got some popcorn, bought a coke, and watched it in my living room.
Wow awesome looking figure. But you know if you get bee to stand beside prime you'll need starscream to stand beside megs lol. Great review, would love him on my shelf, but add shipping to oz and your looking at over $3500, it's a pitty I love him over megs
beautiful piece but for the price (700-800 us dollars) i would spend 15% of that and get the Wei Jiang m-01. Its like comparing apples and oranges the the Wei Jiang piece is amazing for the price
kairus1 I'm more curious about that than the Ultimetal version. The Hot Toys one seems to be a representation of how G1 Optimus would look if he was in the real world and not a cartoon
Good review as always. The EX accessory is ok,but what would be an fantastic Exclusive accessory would be Megatron's ripped off head with the axe in it.How cool would that be?
Awesome statue. And once again, amazing video. I swear this thing looks EXACTLY like cgi prime in the movies. But I got distracted by your cats for the last half. Lol, they are very entertaining!
***** I like the Starscream one a lot, except i don't care for his pose. These are really large pieces already and with his arms extended out like they are, it takes up even more space
***** i feel the same I think he has a lot of parts that make him overall very nice but the pose is just off to me so I wont be getting him.. I even feel OP pose is a little off but it is OP so he is a most. Megatron has the best pose I feel so far
***** You have to keep in mind, Starscream was a physically deformed character in the movies. Although it looks weird, and may be annoying, you have to keep in mind it is realistic.
Wow. He looked good in the photos but now we get a full look at what 1,000$+ gets us. That's just mind blowing. You'd have to know the inside and outside of Optimus to bring him to life!!!
I got such an appreciation for the work done by the CGI people to make this come to life in the films just by staring at this piece. I've had it for 2 days now and i haven't stopped looking at it and seeing new things
What a beast, lol your cats are funny, im sure burger came up on the table with the prime 1 megatron review lol. Totally worth the dollars all tho i could afford it nor would the wife let me lol. Cheers paul.
the best thing to do is that to make his head lights light up is to open his chest and that's were you put the battery's in kind of like the battery's you put in his chest is like put the matrix into his chest
You're welcome, sir. As a UK resident, I would have to factor in huge postage and import duty, which would make this about the price of a lear jet. Like the Megatron, I prefer this bare handed, although the little base and alternate head are a nice touch. Although the Prime obviously has more detail, the Megs has more presence. They look wonderful side by side.
holy fucking shit this is awesome! I like the 80s style black and white illustrations (idk just reminds me of robot cartoons from that generation for some reason), on top of the obvious figure itself.
Astounding. Absolutely astounding. I don't need "Deus Ex" references to give this statue many compliments. At first I thought that Leader Class Optimus was very detailed, but this statue obviously outclasses that in detail alone. Quite an understatement, huh? This statue might stand head-to-head with Metroplex himself, correct? Paul, did you assemble his right leg correctly? I can't help but think that his right leg wasn't completely locked in place because of the visible leg joint. Has your wife ever asked you to review certain figures? I would like to think that she's becoming a collector herself since she's married to you. If she wants to make a cameo during those reviews, she's free to. Until then, sir. You, your wife, and your cats are fortunate to behold such craftsmanship.
Tony Chang Thank you Tony :) Very kind words. I just didn't push the leg down all the way, it's fine now. As for my wife, she doesn't collect really. She has a few MOTUC figures from She-Ra as that's all she liked. She also has a few limited editioni Garfield collectibles. But beyond that, that's about it.
***** Your wife gets kudos if she has that Adora figure that you reviewed in 2010. Who am I kidding? Your collection is augmented, Mr. Denton. I told you that I'll keep getting you with that one.
Nice review, very nice statue ;) Got almost a heartattack when you essembled the torso at the legs on that wobbly rotationplank, dont do that ever again :)
That's a mighty HUGE box ya got there lol! Glad they added in the glue for ya! dude.. my jaw literally dropped when you said it cost $2300 wowzerz!!! lol you my friend are a true collector if i do say so my self! lol love the details on that figure! absolutely amazing! Good to see your cats wanted to join in the fun! LOL! didn't they get in on your Fort Max review too? if i remember! LOL! Tux's reminds me of that cat from Bugs Bunny & Tweety Show! LMAO! Spectacular review dude! hope to own one of these some day! lol
Wish i could get this, but with $2,000.00, not possible in this lifetime....:( you're so lucky Paul to get things like this. Should cost as much as Metroplex...
you can't even tell that he transforms into a truck, that's what I don't like about the movie transformers, when in Robot mode most of them look like they have metal parts glued all over them ( a pile of junk) and you can't tell who's who, and when they transform there is no fluid motion to the transformation, just random parts moving all over the place and then bam you have a truck.
Impossible Pie I'm not trying to argue with you man but have you poped a hood on a big rig lately there's a lot of parts on them inside them so I mean yeah and the old transformers looked like blocks with heads
Impossible Pie That's what I thought when I first saw the movie, but have you ever gotten one of the action figures that transform? All of them consistently amaze me with how different the robot and vehicle modes look. But when you transform them, all the "random parts" come together very smoothly to make the vehicle. It's really quite impressive when you think about it. The revenge of the fallen leader class optimus prime especially.
David Liu I will say first off I've only seen the first movie ( I didn't like it at all so I didn't watch the rest of them thank goodness) so when I comment I am only commenting on the first movie. Now second the actual transformers are not the worst part of the movie, everything else around them, the acting, directing, the plot, the script, I want to punch Sam and his parents in the face!! LOL so annoying! I didn't like the Transformer designs at first first but I will admit they have actually grown on me, I think from movie to movie the designs have gotten better and better, infact I love the way Grimlock looks in dino mode. of course the toys transform smoothly, they're toys they need to make sense if they are transforming into something. but in the movie (for example) the best way I can explain it is it's like you take a piece of paper and crumple it up into a ball that what it's like watching a transformer transform into their alt. mode. then uncrumple back into a robot. In your opinion what do you think is the best movie Prime figure/toy? if I can find one I like I'll probably pick one up.
I've waited so long for the review of this! Such a good piece and review! Even though i didn't really like the bayformers this is still an astounding collectible!
$2,300...It's a lot of money but I'm having a hard time trying to find some fault in this piece.
Michael Wittmann morning
It costs 2300$. That's a major fault.
@@MovieMan-qe3hr couldn't agree more
Madá o do hullqui
Madá todo homem aranha
The amount of Details on those cats are amazing, when do we get a review video of them ?
just imagine, if they made these kind of models for transformers and they could transform to vehicle mode, now that would be worth buying
ThaNoScoper 458 But it will take a month to transform it
Like the kreo lego big fat optimus prime and sentinel prime
Yeah
Look up “black apple optimus prime” you’re welcome
It's already beautiful without the ability to transform. The only thing that stops me from buying every single one of these is the fact they cost a fortune.
I never really liked the Bay films, but the CGI detail is stunning!

@@Slayer-bk2vk same i would like to have the same looks just different directer
What are your thoughts on Peter Cullen as Optimus? The 2007 movie marked his return to the franchise as Optimus.
It's amazing to me how ROTF Leader Optimus Prime could replicate so much of the detail seen here in a $2300 statue. It's been said a million times but the designers really went above and beyond with the mold, something that can't be said for the AOE Optimus mold.
I love how they added all that detail into optimus prime and Megatron it just awsome how they are it look exactly like the movie
I love the amount of detail that's in this!

At 19:59 did anybody notice mp10 peeking over the table then disappear after burger gets off
Yeah! I saw him looking like "woah. That's me!" XD
Ha lol I gust realised that he grabbed mp10 and put him somewhere else lol
Juble Tyre lol that MP-10 is like peeking overthere jealous
I wouldn't trust that cat for one sec by a 2300$ piece.
They should've done a Sentinel Prime version as well. That would be so amazingly awesome

Incredible, just incredible.... just bought the Sideshow Maquette (Really cheap) and best time to buy it now a lot of high end collectors are selling it very cheap and want to get this big Guy!

Lord Tachanka Optimus Prime be like
Dude... I’m right here... I’m better
MP-10 looks like a legends class compared to this guy.
easter egg -3- maybe he is jealous
I have a cat named TUXI (female). Now we know that the two will be ready for the wedding!
MP-10 was staring from under the table like "holy fucking shit"
Who does the camera work when you do videos like this?
They did an excellent job at tracking and focusing.
ScotiaTechReviews My wife did it. She does the best she can. I'm usually all over the place talking and she works hard to keep up and keep things in frame as i talk about various aspects
I love all the statues they have done with the amount of detail and there size but I wish they would do grind or/blackout because he's just so cool
I love that ion cannon but is mainly used by desepticons heavy forces
"Optibotimus.com proudly presents..." feels like such a majestic title with _arrival to earth_ playing.
I laughed when I saw Tuxs. You were against him coming up then you just gave up... I love the cat!
The thing about Megatron's shotgun is because in fact Optimus uses it at the end of The Dark Of The Moon to finish with nothing less than Sentinel Prime, that's why it's among its accessories.

Good review. Didn't realise it was so huge! I'm gonna make sure we give this review a mention in this week's news :)
Awesome! Thank you!
This is a poll. Which Optimus Prime would you rather own? a) Prime 1 Studio DOM Optimus Prime 2) World of 3A DOM Optimus Prime
I don't really like the movies, but the CGI and music are brilliant. Same goes for this statue.

epic statue and i love the detail. you gotta love pets, so innocent and funny. i love them. adorable cat!

are u passing on the hot toys optimus prime too?

say what you want about the films, but two things were done right, the music and the designs.
