    My 2012 platinum looks the exact same. It was the best third row then. I sat in everything (Escalade/navigator ect). I'm 6'2 275 and it's fine in the back.
    Looking to upgrade in the next 24 months. Wish they would redesign. Love my Toyota.

      DM, A couple of months back Automotive News reported that TMC is in the middle of a complete redesign of their full fleet of body-on-frame trucks/SUVs. It may take another year or two for them to reach market but at least you know your 2012 should still be running strong when the new ones arrive.

      KentB27 yeah they are I recently bought a 07 navigator with 90k miles for 11k. I wanted a lx570 or Land cruiser but they were all 30k+ . My navigator is sitting outside with a leaking radiator. In the 3 months I've owned it I've swapped the whole air suspension to coils(the airbags were leaking, Dealership did it for me for free ). a/c went out with previous owner so they had it replaced and overfilled had to bleed some out(dealership did it again for free) the radiator cap went out 2 weeks ago(easy fix just left me stranded had tow), the other day the heater hose burst right as I was pulling up home. ($80 part) installed it today and started filling up the coolant to realize something happened to the radiator as well and it was leaking horrblly. ($160). This was all in 3 months. I had a Lexus I bought with 200k and it didn't have one issue with for the year I own it. there's a reason they don't loose there value. I really love my navigator but I'm really hoping this is the end of it. If this keeps going I'm gonna have to get rid of it.

      Right Lane Hog They also barely sell any of them. Their sales compared to the competition are absolutely laughable. Ford sells over 5x as many expeditions and GM sells over 10x as many Tahoe’s alone. That’s not even counting the Yukon, Suburban, or Escalade. That figure probably more than doubles when you include those trucks. People aren’t interested in buying an outdated truck that lags behind the competition. If they made the pricing more competitive they’d sell more of them.

    • @rightlanehog3151

    I have this truck. 3 years now. Got it for under $50k. It’s an awesome truck. And I don’t care about the fancy stuff that makes other cars more expensive expensive and less reliable. Sure the new sequoia it’s better looking and fancier. But this one does everything right and I don’t have to worry about anything. Oil changes and that’s it.

  • @Eastwood007x

    Calling it a geriatric is unwarranted. Body - on - frame is the only way to go. I can’t wait to get back into a 4Runner or maybe a sequoia.

  • @meadmaker4525
    @meadmaker4525 6 років тому +1

    I don't dislike the look of the Sequoia's exterior, but the low-rent materials and poor design on the interior mean I'd never consider one, even used. They should have spent their TRD money on a redesigned/improved interior and that would have probably done more to boost sales for that model. Considering the money they're asking for these things, it doesn't even compete with segment competitors. And you'd think Toyota would want a piece of the Suburban/Tahoe/Expedition pie.

    I’ve spent a lot of time in sequoias and land cruisers and the land Crusier is so much better. The inside of the sequoia is beyond cheep. You failed to mention that there is almost no soft touch materials. The entire interior is constructed of cheep leather and hard plastic. My friend has a 2013 tundra platinum and on cold mornings all that hard plastic creeks and cracks over every tiny imperfection in the road. It’s unbelievable. The land Cruiser rides so much better is much quiter, looks and feels so much newer. It will also be way more reliable that a sequoia witch is already a very reliable truck.

    Pretty sure the expedition and navigator have better third row seats. Consumer Reports thinks so, and so does motortrend. The third row in the 03 Expedition I had tons of space and was really high off the ground. And that seems to reflect what other reviewers are saying about the 2018 Expedition.

    • @rangerover06sc
      @rangerover06sc 6 років тому

      TestDriveNow Reviews by Auto Critic Steve Hammes I don't think that's fair to say. It may be better then the Explorer but the expedition has kinda been the third row seat comfort champ since 2003. And the last gen expedition(2015-2017) has more legroom. Plus even just looking at the seats tells the same story. The seats in the expedition are thick and tilted upwards so your thighs are supported, while they seem to be relatively flat and thin in the Sequoia. The Sequoia may be miles ahead of the Tahoe and Suburban that seems to dominate everyone's mindset when they think about full sized SUVs with third row seats, but I just don't think it's fair to say it's better then the Expeditions.

    • @97I30T

      rangerover06sc The Expedition has a good 3rd row because Ford has moved into the 21st century and put independent rear suspension on the Expedition. Mag neto My father was going to buy either one of these or a Tundra and decided against it because of the abysmal gas mileage.

      you will save in the long run due to almost 0 maintenance

      JKIZZLLE Not really though because if you buy a GM or Ford full-size SUV you can easily get $10-15k off of the sticker price. Toyota won’t give discounts like that. You would never recoup that $10-15k more your paid upfront for the Toyota.

      honestly thats pretty fair. It would have been nice to buy one of those fj cruisers though. They have lost nearly none of their original value.

      Most ppl who can TRUELY afford a 60k truck are not worried about an extra 100 bucks a month in gas vs. a more normal SUV. Most people who buy 60k vechicles have household incomes over 250k. Look up the stats.
