Thanks everyone for your support of my channel. Please watch an ad or two while looking at my videos. It helps and I have great partners!
My wife Holly would pick the XLE Highlander. What would you all choose? Please click SUBSCRIBE to my channel if you like the video....thanks! Jeff
Toyotajeff in Raleigh The xle trim level is no doubt the way to go you have everything the upper levels have just a very few minor options. We got an extremely good deal ours has only 12k miles, I can’t believe how well they hold there resale value.
They really do. I had a customer last month at the end of their Highlander lease. As opposed to them just giving the Highlander back, it worked out better for them to trade it in for another one......they had $500 positive equity in their car! Jeff
I got the 2018 XLE Hybrid loving the fuel economy.
I would choose the SE for the black front grille
reginaalear Awesome one Regina! It looks different and unique and I love that!
I've got the limited and we love it. You explained more in 20 minutes than my dealer ever did.
You might be shocked or not shocked at all to hear that I get that a lot. Product knowledge is seriously lacking with a majority of salespeople across all brands. I've always enjoyed making videos and this channel helps my business tremendously! Thanks again and feel free to suggest any video topics or ideas and I will put it on the list! Jeff
Same I got the limited 4 days ago
@Mark Russell, Dealers never explain us in detail!
Same here! I just bought a 2019 Tacoma and the seller didn't explain not even one word about the truck
Same here. Would've been so helpful making my decision. Ended up with an XLE. love my highlander. Just wish they offered the blue interior console light on more trims
Fantastic information, Jeff....thanks for taking the time to show us all the differences between trim levels. I have watched several Highlander reviews and yours is the only one that managed this feat!
My fiancé just bought the LE, she didn’t want any extras (aside from the red color) and she’s ecstatic about it.
Even without all the bells and whistles it’s a HUGE upgrade from her previous vehicle.
Fantastic video 👍🏽 make more please lol you’re entertaining !
I chose the XLE with bench back seats....love it so far.
Great descriptions on all trim levels... We picked up a 17 Xle yesterday and are excited to get on the road! Love it! Thankyou!!
I have ‘18 Limited Platinum Blizzard Pearl with Saddle leather. Best SUV ever!
The combo armrest/storage is one of the best features. The weather tech mats
are a must here at the beach.
That's awesome Erin! I'll have to do a specific review and features/benefits video just on the Limited Platinum. It's so loaded up! Thanks again for being part of my channel community! jeff
Just bought the XLE and we are loving it! V6 has a lot of power and great off the line. 2018 was a great year.
Just got the Limited AWD. Love it!!! keep my car for 10 years on average. it drives like a dream.
We just got a Highlander but loved watching this after! Great video! Ack ack!
This is the most informative car review I have ever encountered..
High praise! Thanks so much wow!! Jeff
I'd get the XLE cuz I don't think the lesser trim models have heated leather seats
jeff, you need to do more vids. you are the absolute best! no frills or bs. just gets down to the details of the cars.
j burggg thanks I appreciate it J! I try to do 4-5 videos each week for you all...
I have the XLE bench seat and I absolutely love this vehicle! In addition it’s a very solid and great in the snow... well worth the price tag
I live near Cleveland County, not to far from you;however, I really would want the Limited Platinum or the SE. I love Toyota, I had a 1.8 '94 Corolla and it died at 500 hundred thousand miles, and it never broke down. And, i actually met a guy that had an 800 hundred thousand miles Camry, but I'm obsessed with changing my oil and I never let it get dirty, hell, my old oil looks new. You're quite entertaining, keep up the good work, peace!
Hey Alex! Thanks so much for your compliments! It's not as easy as one might think reviewing cars and also being able to keep my personality full throttle haha.....Nope Cleveland County isn't that far at all. Let me know if you ever want pricing on any vehicle. I'm happy to see how I stack up vs your local dealers....jeff
After my 2 back surgery's I'm slated for, as well as, my 2nd reflux surgery; I will definitely be in the market for a better vehicle that's easier to access, as well as, numerous safety features. Very interested in the 2019 Limited Rav4, and Limited Platinum Highlander.
It was worth it to stick around until the end to hear, “goes all the way to the back, just like a mullet.” Great video! This is the most helpful trim level comparison video I’ve seen for any vehicle.
Thanks so much Ben! That's one of my favorite lines ever in my videos hahahahahahahaaaa I didn't know if anyone would get it! I'll try to keep impressing people with my weird pop culture references :) Jeff
That was one the details that I was looking for, thanks so much now I can decide what to pick
Thanks for another great video. Since I don’t fit comfortably in the RAV4 (I’m 6’3”), I will be purchasing the 2019 Highlander XLE next month. The proven reliability of this vehicle sold me.
I love all your videos Jeff! You give a lot of good information with some fun in it.
Hats off to you my friend. Thanks for the comparisons. It helped a great deal. I purchased a burgundy 2017 XLE as a result of your video for my family. Its an amazing vehicle. Thanks again!!!!!!
Probably one of the best reviews, I have the 2018 se with the v6. Happy so far.
Do you find the SE bumpy because of the sport tuned suspension?
My husband and i are going to look at the 2017 xle highlander, thank you for the comparison!
This is a pretty cool and comprehensive video. Thank you so much for making this video
I’m looking into a limited model! Love your videos. They’re so informative but also make me laugh :)
Thank you! This was very informative! Wish I would have had it back when I was shopping around! You missed one though, the Hybrid. There are a few subtle differences. Especially the intelligent AWD and the different driving modes. We went with the Limited Platinum Hybrid and love the few extra features!!
Just picked up my 2019 XLE yesterday - so far, we love it.
How much you got it for?
Great job! Very helpful for determining which model to buy. I was planning to get the Limited but will now purchase the XLE. Ron
Great comparison. One thing overlooked regarding front differences - the SE headlight housing is also painted black inside.
SE also has some things you mentioned start at the XLE level - heated front seats, rear power outlet, rear sun shades, and driver easy speak.
Thanks for the explanation on the trim levels, great job.
Just bought the Limited AWD. Love it!!!!! I keep my cars. so happy with this purchase!
Why did you get that over the XLE?
Wow 😊
well explained .. it shows you love what u doing👍🏻thank you so much!
thanks for taking the time of comparing all trim levels
No problem exit! It DOES take a long time but I've found it's worth it, because nobody else does what I do :) Thanks again and feel free to suggest any video ideas or topics. Jeff
Great video. Very comprehensive (and entertaining) comparison. Toyota and other manufacturers should do the same thing. We just got a 2018 XLE a couple days ago. Seemed like the best balance of features and cost. We got the Blizzard Pearl with Almond interior. It's really nicer than a basic white. It's a great looking vehicle.
Stu Robinson Thanks for the compliment Stu! The XLE is what I’d choose as well. It’s challenging to to a car Review and actually make it entertaining:) jeff
Just picked up a used LE Plus. This video helped me distinguish between that and the LE model. Got it from a Ford dealer who posted it as an LE but it was actually the Plus. I knew because of this helpful video. Love the Journey reference! Wheels in SE keep on turning...lol
Love your comparison videos, keep up the great work!!!
SCWai thanks so much!!!!
Excellent review! I am looking at a 2018 XLE currently
I got XLE and it’s been going awesome for me although it’s 2015. I must say I am looking forward for the limited platinum trim level very soon for my father since he deserves everything. Thanks for the review.
Thank you so much! A very comprehensive review!!
Thank you very much. I purchased today a CPO 2017 Highlander LE Plus according to ads and some docs. But it clearly is a LE. Your comparison shows this clearly.
I will discuss it tomorrow and see where it goes.
Great info!!! Thank you! I'm satisfied with the LE. I don't need/am not interested in the "extras". As long as I get from A to B and back to A safely, I'm good. 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Thanks for explaining in the details! I would love to buy a LE or SE. Right now, I have a 2009 Toyota Corolla LE. It still runs very good than what I would expect.
I just bought my wife a 17 highlander xle last month. She feel in love with it during the test drive has the captain chairs for second row.
The captain chairs are nice, aren't they? jeff.....XLE is a sweet trim level!
Super helpful! Thanks for making this.
Finally breaking away from Dodge. Last 2 crapped out wayyyy too early. My friend recommended this vehicle because I need reliability being a traveling nurse and single mum! Kept trying to figure out specs online but was becoming frustrated. This video helped me out sooo much!! Thank you for these videos! I want the platinum premium!!
good comparison with different models. Thank you!
Had AWD XLE just traded up to Highlander AWD SE Plus. What a shift. Toyota really made it easy for me to move into what I want. Difference....power, drivability, fuel economy, seating, room, design, practicality Remember it for four years. Loved the RAV 4 but found another lover.
Kudos to you, well done, I will pick the limited platinum, the sun roof is quite impresive
Limited is working great for me. Love leather seats as they wipe nice & clean. love the back hatch that opens with a push of a button when you have groceries and such in your hands. Sound system jams. The V-6 engine is one of the top engines. I love all of it. Zoom Zoom lets go Toyota Highlander Limited. Thank you for showing each vehicle.
XLE is the best bang for your buck. Not to say the other models aren't good, because they are, but the XLE seems to be the sweet spot for the most affordable and having the "just right" amount of bells and whistles. Highlanders ROCK, regardless!!! Great vehicle.
I purchased the LE model it drives just like all the others without all bells&whistles with the high sticker price. Im happy with my LE model👍
I agree👍
i bought rav4 LE for the same reason
Same here in Jade metallic Green, purchased today.
I just got the XLE.
All models are beautiful though. 😊
me2
Platinum will be my choice. I like all the bells and whistles, especially on long drives.
This is an awesome video! My eye is on a Toyota Hylander just didn’t know the differences amongst them all. I want all the bells n whistles.
Hi Jeff
I have to admit Your video gave me more information than anything Ive seen on the it definitely helped ne to figure out exactly what I want & need in a Highlander, my only regrets are
1st I live in NY
2nd Im very much comfortable with my current dealer here
To answer your question You sold me on the SLE
And reading all the positive comments about Toyota has only reinforced my decision to buy my first Toyota
Great review I love the xle. The sunroof is awesome!
I like the XLE. Thank you for taking the time to make this video. You explain things better than anyone I've found thus far. One thing you didn't touch on and I wish you would have, was what trim levels come with pearl paint vs. which one's do not. I'm a sucker for the white pearl.
Nicely done comparison. I have a 2018 Limited and love it.
Thanks Greg! Nice choice man! Have a great weekend...jeff
Has it held up well? Been reliable?
We just picked up the LE AWD. Great vehicle. It's our 4th brand new Highlander as the wife likes them so much we get a new one ever couple years.
Just picked up a 2019 Limited Platinum V6 AWD in Blizzard Pearl for 7k off sticker. I feel like I did well. Very nice car, have history with Highlander and looking forward to enjoying it for the next decade plus!
Thanks for info Amy I was wondering how much they came off list.
Just purchased the 2019 Limited "Platinum" Edition Pre dawn Mica Gray.....its Amazing...It has all the Bells & Whistles !!
any issues so far?
Very good comparison I love it
Highlander Limited Premium Hybrid V6 AWD is truly a great machine
I got the SE with nightshade....love it!
AWESOME REVIEW, VERY FUNNY AND WHAT I'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR!
Great review and for emphasizing that you can opt for bench seats on each trims.
Thank you for the awesome explanation. Just what I was looking for and all the other reviews don't tell me.
Absolutely Barry! These trim level comparisons are the most challenging ones, as they take so much time and effort. But for me it's all worth it. I'm glad I can provide a great service. Please stick around my channel and contribute whenever you like. Jeff
God bless you my man! Thank you for making videos, this is will be helpful to pick the right highlander for my wife!
And guess what? Last weekend I end it up purchasing the 2019 EXL pear white for my wife 🤗 course , I have the 2019 Tacoma trd off road manual transmission 🥰 the perfect combination 😇
Excellent video, and Jeff, you're a freaking goober with your jokes. I loved it. Thanks for posting this.
Thank you man ....it’s really a great information I didn’t know 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
We have a Limited Platinum, love it so much it is packed with tech and drives like a Lexus!
We’re going to go for the XLE. Thanks for the comparison!
Good choice Bob and I'm glad I could help you narrow down your options. One of my subscribers gave me an awesome suggestion. He said I should do videos that show how to work all the buttons/controls/music after someone has bought their cars. I might explore that! Jeff
@@Toyotajeff Not a bad idea Jeff. Those dashes looked like something out of a Space Shuttle.
I got a limited 2018. And it’s my first car! 😊😊😊
Thank you so much for a great review!
Has it held up well? Been reliable?
Thank you for the review!
I was hoping to hear something about tow package options.
Informative and clear. Good job.
Thank you very much. I now know the car to choose. I am going for the limited edition and thank you again. 😊😊
Thanks for posting this video. It wass super informative.
I'm late to this thread, but I never buy "new". I just sold my 2004 Limited with every possible after-market upgrade, tailor hitch, Bluetooth, remote start, running boards, roof rack and hookers (love that feature when I'm pimp'n at the club). Jumped into a 2018 XLE. Installed my own after-market remote start (45 minutes of my life I will never get back). The 2004 had 158K miles and was still rolling strong.
The technology in the 2018 XLE is mind-blowing. All I need is the tow hitch. This video taught me about a few things I never knew about. I think it will be 3-6 months before I discover all the toys it has. The fact that this is my second Highlander speaks volumes about these beasts. They earn my highest recommendation
Just picked up a 2019 SE on Monday.
Excellent review bud, that was the most comprehensive different trim UA-cam video I've seen so far. The SE model is the best start off I'd go for. Anyone know if this has a stiff or soft ride or is an adjustable feature?
I got the xle and I love it. I didn't know about the 120 volt outlet, now I do.
thanks you did well, that was a lot of work.
My Fiance' and I will be getting a highlander in 2020, Thanks for this video!
XLE Platinum!! That roof is too dope
I recently purchased a 2018 Highlander XLE and absolutely LOVE IT!!! A solid ride all around...great acceleration, very sturdy suspension and superb design. Highly recommended! Was considering a Honda Pilot, but it is too vanilla and looks like a minivan.
All hondas look like a minivan and the odessey looks like a bus
Has it held up well ?
@@bruthayoshi2111 held up great! Just passed 48k miles with ZERO issues. Paid $37k and KBB value is $34k, so it’s held it’s value exceptionally well!!!
@@ltshores wow! I'm looking at a limited right now for 33k with 60k miles on it. Think I'm gunna go for it
@@bruthayoshi2111 go for it!!! 👍👍
This video help me alot. Thank you you are the best
Beautiful review
You did a great job going through all the trim. I would love the Limited Plat
We have the 2018 limited platinum in Blizzard Pearl with black interior. We are very happy with our Highlander it's great in the snow as we live in NH.
Hey Gary do you have the front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive? I knew in NH and MI where I'm from the AWD is more common. jeff
AWD it's a must
Hey Gary, I just bought a Highlander Hybrid. Do you have to add weight to the back for the snow, or does it do ok without it?
You don't need any weight, but as my wife works at a place that is up a large steep hill and has to be there early in the morning and sometimes roads are not plowed we put full blown snow tires on it and turns into a tank and have never been stuck. She insists on snow tires but i don't think it's needed. But you know the old saying happy wife happy life.
Limited 8 passengers. Thanks Jeff for your nice videos.
We bought a LE Plus - super value model. We love it.
The best review!!
Loved all of your comments!
We have a SE ! Love it so far 😁
You did an amazing job with this video. I now understand what I am buying and you are so valuable. If you get a nice 2016 XLE LIMITED OR PLATINUM I will ride up to North Carolina from Atlanta
Nicely done Vid!!
Great review!
Spectacular review!!!!
I love my xle awd 2015 I been traveling to Mexico with my xle awd over 5 times it’s very smooth to drive!
