The song… there is an old pagan bonding chant, many pagan chants are based on an idea of three being holy. The holy trinity, etc. but the bonding chant to a familiar soul is something like “I am YOU. and you ARE me, and together WE are WE. I BELONG to you. You BELONG TO me. Two bodies - ONE SOUL. By the power of the three” it’s similar to the marriage chant of the wildlings, which fits it well to the world
There's a theory floating about the internet that Daemon's song has nothing to do with Aegon the conquer and his sister-wives but is an ancient Valyrian song about how the dragon bond was first made.
The line about the "price has been paid with blood magic..." and, "two heads - to a third sing," sounds more like allusions to ancient sorcery. It fits the depiction in the new opening of two people, making a blood offering/sacrifice to a dragon with a human head.
It would be appropriate for Daemon to sing to Vermithor of making the ancient dragonbond to prepare the dragon for taking a new rider.

The concept of dragon/dragonriding "experience" is an interesting one. In terms of actual dragon vs. dragon combat prior to the Dance, there's only ever been one instance in Westeros - Maegor and Balerion vs. Aegon the Uncrowned and Quicksilver. Everyone from that combat is long dead by this point, so technically no one has any actual experience fighting with a dragon against another dragon (or as a dragon against another dragon). However, I think the concept of experience still applies, with older dragons and more experienced riders still holding an edge. I think of it as pilots with different numbers of flight hours - even if their previous experience is all in unarmed planes, a pilot with 2000 total flight hours will still have a big advantage over one with only 200 hours if they both suddenly got tossed into fighters and told to go after each other. Even with no direct aerial combat experience, a more experienced dragon rider will still have a better idea of what the capabilities of a dragon (and especially their own dragon) are in flight. We see this with Rhaenys, who is the only one of the three riders at Rook's Rest who uses aerial maneuvers to gain the advantage over both of her opponents, whereas Aegon and Aemond both mostly just fly straight at her and spam dracarys. The "civilian plane to fighter plane" transition especially applies when you remember that the "fighter" in this case is a living intelligent entity who knows perfectly well how to use its own weapon systems, so that extra responsibility isn't so much on the rider.
I was wondering if Aemond was seeing the prophecy on the dagger in that scene. It would certainly give him a lot to think about. It is certainly time to Daemon to get out of Harrenhal and back into the thick of things.
It would be SO DUMB of them not to have seized that *brilliant* opportunity for him to just happen upon the prophesy!
So glad I’m not the only one that thinks so. He had to have seen the glyphs in the dagger lying there surrounded by fire…. And blood.

@@Gigipretty64 He is referring to how they don't let the younger dragons fly yet, they keep them in or near the dragon pit. After a certain age think of it like the dragon will listen to commands better from the rider. That is when they fly.

Charlie, actually i've seen some say that the song is about the creation of the dragons... fire breather and winged leader are the two monsters from valyria( forgot the names ) and blood magic was used to create. some theories say that the third aspect are human element
The song also mixes in a lot of mythology and history about the creation of the dragons too.
The most popular theory about It says that the three heads are: the one from the rider, the second from the dragon and the third Is the soul sacrificed to make the. blood magic ritual.
@@LuMoRo34 I'm fully onboard with the wyrm + wyvern + human interpretation. I'm sure plenty of souls were sacrificed along the way, but why would you want to bind the sacrificed soul to yourself and the dragon? I feel like that would just get in the way of your own soul bonding with the dragon.

@@michaelhenry3234 Cause sacrifice and ofc blood Is needed in every blood magic ritual, it's not as if the currrent generation of Targs are bonding with dragons through sacrifices, It was a ritual already done long time ago when the first valyrian did it(or dragon rider). The Song said The Price has been already paid with blood, the currency was the life and soul of the sacrificed, the most hardcore theorists even dare to say It was the soul of Nissa Nissa/The Amethyst Empress.
The wyrm+wyvern was more likely to create the creature not the bond between valyrians and their dragons. Daenerys also needed to pay with her child's , Mirri Maaz Duur's and Khal Drogo's lives to bring them back cause they were extinct so she had to do It all over again just as the first dragon rider did it.
Besides, in the opening credits you can see a scene/picture of a man stabbing the back of another one while creating the fused mind of dragon and man.

Vermithor > Vhagar.Vhaegar is bigger but much slower and old. Hopefully Hugh Hammer gets to showcase Vermithor's genuine power and doesn't do next to nothing really big like in the books.
The smaller/medium sized dragons are faster than the older/larger ones. But it would stand to reason, that vermithor is a little quicker than vhagar, because he's younger.

Rhaena claiming Sheepstealer would be an awesome alternative to the Daemon/Nettles rumors. It gets combined with the Alys Rivers rumors over time. But it’s really his daughter he lets escape and he does exactly what Addam does and goes out proving his true loyalty.
We have seen exactly one scene with his children with Rhaenyra. But he never holds or interacts with them. It’s when they are presented to Viserys before he dies.
Proof that the Targaryens do have some fire immunity otherwise they would literally have been charred skeletons attached to saddles after Vhagar and Meleys untangled.

The big thing about Ceraxes, the Blood Wurm, is that he's INCREDIBLY vicious of a dragon. He's very poor tempered, also. Ceraxes is probably the most dangerous dragon in Westeros during the Dance, even with Vhagar and Vermithor lurking around, imo. Plus, the sync between rider and dragon is something they've been showing as very important. Love the break down, Charlie!

That betrothal probably still stands at the moment, unless they break it in the future.
Something I’ve never thought of before. But since Dragonstone was the original home of the Targaryens and therefore has tons of original texts and history books. The whole “Prince (Princess) of Dragonstone” thing may be tied to that once they learn of the prophecy the heir is expected to learn more in the library at Dragonstone. The royal line seems to want to keep it close to the chest so perhaps they didn’t include it in any writings present at Kings Landing.

Don’t forget Baela rode moondancer almost every free second she had. She was seen in the sky more than on the ground. So even though her dragon is younger and she hasn’t ridden as long as some other riders, she is pretty experienced just because of the sheer amount of practice and riding time she has with moondancer

Well, size matters, too. Rhaenys and Meleys got the first good hit on Vhagar similar to how they did on Sunfyre, but Vhagar was able to shrug off that hit because she's so much larger and stronger. Meleys might possibly have been able to wear Vhagar down over a few repeated clashes if she could keep using that superior experience and speed, but it would have taken a while. Whereas, as we saw, Vhagar just needed one good hit, and it was over.
@@Wolfeson28 honestly speaking, it wasn’t about the size of the dragon. It was the strategy I personally would not have flew over the castle like that, but that’s just me. I’m all about strategy and she supposed to be the second best fighter. She should’ve known not to fly over that castle like that, knowing that you did not see him anywhere. When they were fighting instead of just using fire like everyone else, her dragon used claws as well which showed that she knew how to use her dragon in battle not just one fighting tactic. That could have been avoided, but I’m not the author.
@@RDC-ug1zj Ya, no question that flying over the castle toward a blind spot was a blunder. But the point I was trying to make was that Vhagar's superior size meant that just one mistake like that was enough to end it, whereas Meleys wasn't strong enough to immediately take down Vhagar at once if she'd gotten a similarly favorable clash. If they hadn't gotten ambushed, Rhaenys and Meleys could have tried to keep breaking clear and then coming back in to try and get another favorable clash like the first one (where Meleys injured Vhagar's belly). But it would have taken multiple successful clashes to do enough damage to take Vhagar down, whereas if Vhagar gets in one good hit or gets one solid grab on Meleys during any of those clashes, it's over right there.

There is an episode when Daemon is with his and rhaenyra's kids but it's just the 2 of them while she was still pregnant with baby #5. So technically he was with all 3😅.... even though that baby died .
When they went back to kings landing in Viserys last day. She introduces Viserys to baby Aegon and baby Viserys and Daemon in standing by the bed with one of the baby's in his arms while Rhaenyra sat on the bed with the other baby

@@millsrobinson2804 in that case also as dragons are magical creatures with boiling hot blood firing power eating them should give Sone extra power or something, also we can add many ideas with cannibal ,like we all know balerian returns with severe wounds from Valeria and no one knows what happened how about we make it he and cannibal got into a clash ?? I think it's pretty good right ? A dragon bigger than balarion older, without any rider his whole life with his cannibal natural and in the wild .Badass I would say.
