Home Netwerks Bluetooth speaker fan light installed. I’ll show you the exact steps and problems you might encounter. An exclusive product from home depot. I will demonstrate all features and of the speaker, light, and fan.
I am really impressed with your ability to explain everything. Your attention to detail was excellent and you said exactly what you needed to without extra words. Well done!
I appreciate that! It's a nice bathroom upgrade but does time time, tools and patience to get it done right. Thanks for the comment, like, and subscribe.
Haha 😂Yeehaw you got me so confident to install mine now and I bought this exact same Bluetooth fan and I'm stoked now! Thank you sooo much for this video
now i can cry and listen to marvins room😭
mosesshiferaw12 why was I thinking the same thing
@@yourfavoritedrosefan was yo epic?
I have the same fan. I work in electronics. My fan is wired correctly. My fan worked for about 7 months. No storms in area. The bluetooth was syncing to my wife's iphone and working. I flipped the home netwerks power off one time to try to get it to stop connecting to the iphone and connect my Android. It has works before but this time after turning the switch part off and on again the bluetooth sound would not sound. After two days of checking wiring for loose connections I took the home netwerks switch off all wiring and opened it. Inside are a board with a transformer, 2 capacitors, a diode pack (diamond config pack) to convert to DC. And a single transistor/ regulator. Inside the thin switch housing (nightlight, light, fan, music) is SMD parts. It has a bluetooth sync circuit and small SM antenna. All parts (small fuse, caps resistors) were good. It seems the bluetooth SMD chip may be working but the music switching is not. The FAN and Lights work but the bluetooth parts are blown. The items are so small you can't fix it. The only fix was replacing the fan and switch for a new one. If the second one only lasts 7 months them the design of the switch mounting on the wall is crap. Home netwerks should have a class action on them!!
I’m in that situation... I’m ready to replace it with something else now
Did you try removing the speaker and light cover from the base and disconnecting the speaker wire for 30 seconds while the switch is still powered on?
Best how to video on the install of this fan! The company needs to hire you to do how to videos on all there products!
Well, thank you, good sir. I'm really glad it helped you and others.
Awesome job explaining this process, was nervous to try it myself but now I'm confident. Thank you.
LOl enjoyed this video. Just bought one for my Girlfriend's home and boom no door for the attic. lmao her parents had sealed it up while adding a room to the house. Back to square one I guess. lmao
Did you make a ceiling access? It needs one anyway
just installed it. little tricky because my ceiling is pitched but overcame that. speaker works great. not a bose by no means but decent. fan is quiet.
Awesome video man, I didn’t just learn what to do but I enjoyed watching the video also!
I just bought the same brand fan. Can’t wait to install it. It looks nice 👍🏽
Is it still working and problems?
saw this at Lowe's and was shook!! thanks for the great video, it'll help us install it in my bathroom :)
Excellent excellent video my man. How did I know you were going to play country music. Lol. Thanks again
I was going crazy to install this fan because including the fan switch there is 2 other switches..giving me 3 switches total (3 gang) wall switch. I had to pigtail the white wire from the other white wires so that the fan switch was isolated to get it to work. Of course the Homewerks would not give out this tip.
Like your idea to keep it flush against the ceiling
Great job. Damn I was hoping to see your exhaust work. But over all great job.
We are having trouble connecting to the Bluetooth. Any recommendations?
I'm wiring my unit this morning. I'll have issues with the switch given the odd wiring configuration. Thanks for this video.
Good luck and thanks for commenting. I understand from other comments that the newer model may have a different switch wiring configuration. Explore other comments for insight.
@@tailgatetalk Well everything works except trying to do what you do at 7:08--I cannot get the simple clip brackets to work to save my life. They are too long and the unit is away from the ceiling by 1 to 2" no matter how hard I try to push it to the ceiling. Any thoughts on what I've done wrong? Or work arounds?
How is this fan/speaker combo holding up after a year?
About 3 years in and it's still great. No problems, no rust. The remote that came with the unit though is junk. The remote apparently is not water-resistant although the design implies that it is. It rusted and quit working. Do not put the remote in the shower.
3.5 yrs in ours has an obviously rusty grill and BT functionality is limited to none. Fan performance is adequate and light is flawless but grill assembly with speakers is the weak point... and ours is in a bathroom with a small dehumidifier running 24/7 for the past 5 years. If trying to connect to devices using newer BT standards will not pair. If using an older device it will pair but within 10 mins audio gets choppy and the device disconnects. Doesn't appear to be device brand specific but newer devices seem to perform worse. I would expect to replace a exhaust fan every 8-10 years at the soonest. Less than 5 years of complete functionality makes this a poor buy IMO.... unless replacement parts and warranty service were superb.. and I can say thus far that is NOT the case.
If i can add a pointer, use a romex NM clamp to attach the electrical cable to the Fan housing, those cables are supposed to go inside the fan not outside and wrapped with black tape.
Awesome video-would love to see more of these.
Hi, I had this installed about a year ago now and love having the music while showering or getting ready in the mornings for work! One day though the Bluetooth stopped working and could not get it to restart. About a week later we had a power outage and when the power came back, the Bluetooth was working again. But unfortunately, it then it stopped working again. I turned off/on the electrical panel that controls the bathroom, but that did not get the Bluetooth started again. Not sure how to reset/restart to get it to start working again.
Unfortunately, because the fan takes the showers' moist air and puts it in the Attic instead of outside, it causes mold and rust, which could have caused the Bluetooth chip to stop working correctly.
Absolutely amazing video. Thank your for the step by step with minimal random info.
Very informative video. Thank you.
What if you can't access the exhaust fan through the attic.
How can I change the color of the lights?
Mine has a white cable and not sure how to connect that to which cable! :(
It's nice but I see a problem that could happen with this.
1. The ventilation output is in your attic instead of outside which may cause mold, rot and condensation for your insulation and roof.
2. The speakers eventually going to stop working because of all of the build up from the fan being on.
Nice work. Hope you also replaced the there 2 yellow old light switches.
This is awesome! We just bought this today and look forward to installing it.
Why did my unit come with 2 green wires, 2 white and 2 black, and the switch was not included?
How high are your ceilings? Can it be installed in a shower with an 8 ft ceiling?
Thanks for the video.
Did you installed GFCI protection as it’s needed for over the shower exhaust
The big drawback is that the ventilation fan does not have an automatic shut off. If you need to shower and leave for the day you either leave the fan on all day or turn it off and leave the humidity in the room. I suggested to the company that they remake their switch to default to shutting off automatically after 30 minutes. A simple fix (says the non-electrical engineer here). That one fix would make this a great fan.
That's a great idea. Also making the screen so it easily comes off for washing once lint, fuzz, and hair get built up on it. My fan is still working today although the remote was a total piece of junk. It rusted and I could not get a replacement. The company would not respond to my inquiries to buy a replacement remote. Thanks for the like and subscribe.
@@tailgatetalk My fan did not come with a remote unit. My fan does not work with their smart phone app. I just installed the fan recently so will need to keep the grill clean. My other issue with this fan is keeping it flush to the ceiling--the springs to hold it don't work quite as they hope it would.
The new models have automatic humidity control. Looking at installing ours right now 😊
@@getliquified Do you happen to know if there is a retrofit for those of us who don't have the humid control? Or is the fan unit itself needing to be replaced? I was hoping only the wall switch unit could be re-engineered for a fan automatic shut off time (say, 30 minutes).
How load is it?
What happens when the Led light runs out? How do you replace the light and is it replaceable where you can put a new Led bulb in it?
If your installing this and run into the issue with alignment put a 2x4 on the wall your mounting it too in order to make it flush like they recommend
I try to put same fan and Bluetooth speakers included, so my control have four wires , green, wire black and red, so green wire is ground, wire is neutral and black is power and red is for fan so , these red wire where is conect so label say not conected at other device, first time connected red wire at other black wire and work , Bluetooth, fan and light, se them not work anymore, just light fan and Bluetooth, so no change light
Hi good vid. Thanks for posting. Question: if you want to pull down the housing cover of the fan assembly, from below, how would you do that? I.e. as if you needed to reconfigure/reconnect some wiring.
I was hoping your video showed you actually installing the cover. I had someone install this same fan for me while I was not home.
I don't know that you could. The housing MUST be attached to the framing in the ceiling. My only suggestion would be to instead of using the mounting bracket above, just screw the box itself to a ceiling joist from inside and below. You would still need to frame in a box for the fan housing. Otherwise, you would only be able to attach the fan housing on one side. Sorry, I don't know if that was helpful or not. Best of luck and thanks for the like and subscribe.
Is there a chiming sound that comes on when you turn the lights? If so is it loud enough to wake people up in a small apartment? Can it be shut off? Thanks
Thanks. Exactly what I was looking for. Going to install my now
Nice. Rock on and enjoy. Thanks for the like and subscribe.
Very cool fan! I didn’t know that they made them with speakers now too! Also, what song did you play? I really like it!
I have this but not function the bluetooth ??? And already pair the fan and lights
What about the yellow wires on other side of the vent housing?
I have no attic access. Has anyone found a way to install this without it?
Up in the attic my house has red, black, white and ground. I did everything else you said but what do I do about that red wire? Can anyone help
I have the new version switch with four wires. Power, ground, fan and neutral. (Switch is labeled as such)I have an old house with no neutral hooked up in any of my outlets. How can I get around not using a neutral from the switch? Please help
I ran into the same problem what did you do if I may ask?
Great vid, just purchased this item for my weekend project install.
Only half my lights come on but when I push or mess with the fixture the other half flicker and comes on for a sec. What's wrong or how do I fix it? Was installed by professionals..
That's awesome thanks for the Video
Thanks for the video. Good info for my upcoming install. Here's my one issue, we just remodeled master bath and added a stand-up shower, but there is no lighting above the area I want to mount this. Trying to cut costs...how do I run the necessary power lines to the location I need it?
Is the fan strong enough to prevent further mold/moisture in your bathroom?
Nope
Does the switch come with it?
Yes, mine came with the switch. Thanks for the comment, like, and subscribe.
what happens if your house is old and the old light switch only has the black and white wire (pos/neg) and no ground. if so; what do you do with the fan's ground wire, where do you attach that to?
1 dont swet it
2 make a ground
Thank you. Helpful and enjoyed the video.
Cool, now hit the showers (with music)!
What did you hook the black wires up to? My instructions show a four-wire switch but I only have a three-wire switch. I see you have a three-wire switch what did you hook it up to?
I'm installing mine right now and line also has red/blk/wht and ground... I dunno what to do... u figure it out???
Kinglion Taylor facing the same dilema lol did ya figure it out?
whats the name of the tile you have in the bathroom?
Never vent the moist air into the attic. Condensation will form and cause mold and rot issues. You must vent to the outside so that the moisture ruining your popcorn ceiling doesn't ruin your more expensive roof sheathing and insulation.
Muhammad Goldstein exactly what I was thinking first part of the video!,
Best video on this fan that I e seen. And I've seen them all.
Thank you so much! I struggled with getting and keeping the box flush to mount it. Great idea!
Hi, Thanks for the great video! Can you tell me what is the size of the square hole? About 8''x8'' inch. ?? Thanks!
tape measure showed about 9.5 when he measured it
mine has 2 yellow wire. what about those
I saw yours had 3 wires on the switch. Mine has 4 it’s got a red wire. In addition to the power and neutral.
Pillsburydunboy that means its a 3 way switch meaning it turns on a light at 2 different switches
So connect black black and red together
I tried the black to red and black and the light started changing... led, night light, led, night light... can u help???
Can you tell me how to connect it to Alexa ?
The current light/fan I have works with 2 switches. Was anyone able to hook it up to 2 switches?
Anyone?
Good vid but a little dark at times. Our old fan went out and I was debating on just getting another cheapo or this one, This feels like it weighs significantly more and I have no attic access. The old fan vents directly out to the roof. Don't want to have to open the box at HD to see if that's doable. What do you think? Another guy thought the wiring was wonky and had a hard time but you seemed to have breezed through that. Thanks man!
Mark Tylka no attic just roof how or what do I do.
Does your remote still work?
Looks great! Thanks for posting. Very useful information. I'm gonna give it a go!👩🔧
Dont mean to to be that guy but, you need to put all wire connections inside the metal box on the fan. They sell a romex clamp for that opening to that box. It just snaps in. Make it safe it is not worth the risk.
Is this a stand alone product, or do I need anything. Can I just pair it with my phone and that's it.
Yeah it's pretty much just basic Bluetooth
So we just installed this light yesterday and the night light won't stay on when we switch it off. It's been flickering all night and day. Did we install something wrong? I reset all the settings.
Mine has a separate button for the nite lite. From other comments, it sounds like the newer models have a different wiring harness all together. If you are certain you wired everything correctly, I would wager it is a defective light or switch. I believe there is a number on the instructions to call for help versus returning it to the store. Best of luck and thanks for watching.
Thanks for sharing a great video
Where did you run your vent duck to?
loved it. You have a great sense of humor.
Gonna put this in for a friend thanks
What kind wier did u use 3/14 or 2 /14
Sorry, I don't recall since it's been almost 3 years ago. Thanks for watching though. I hope it was useful information otherwise.
YEEHAW!! Love it
What switch conover did you use?
Woohoo awesome job in showing how to install this baby! You made it look so easy!!
Cool video
What’s the name of that switch you bought for your wall? I got this fan and can’t find a switch that works!
The switch came with the fan. Not sure you can buy it separately. Maybe you can. Contact the manufacturer help line. Good luck. The wall plate to covers the switches came from Lowe’s.
my vanity light and fan are connected on same switch , can i still use this fan switch for both vanity light and fan or its a bad bad idea?
You need a extra switch bro ... that switch its only for bath fan. It's a wireless switch.
Mike, I am confused about the wiring. At the fan box, I have three wires: white, green, and black. White is neutral; green is ground; and black is marked as "switch connection." Do I wire my power to the black switch connection? The diagram that came with the fan has the power attaching at the switch, which is opposite of what is on this video. If you can give me guidance, I'd appreciate it.
@@mateo1726 I will check it out.
Thank you!!!
Where did you get this switch ?
My swith is totally different. It's digital and there are 4 wires. Black, Red, White and the ground.
Where can I get a wall switch like that one? I called the company unfortunately no answer.
I got it at Lowe’s. Good luck and thanks for the comment, like and subscribe.
Great video man, thinking about buying one. I like the way the ring lights up. Very cool
I am having trouble pairing the switch any advice?
arian820 me too
Me too, did either of you figure out the issue?
Great detailed video but you need to install an GFCI since it's within 6' of water. Also, I hope you didn't just leave the ducting straight to the attic. If you did that because you didn't want to go through the roof then just go through an even All-in all a great video though.
Lights nice, but when you hooked up
The wires, aren’t they supposed to be terminated in the junction box on the fan and use a connector for the 14/2 nmd wire into the fan j-box and then connect to the fan wire harness? I’m sure it’s illegal to make an open air splice with tape or not and just throw the insulation over it. That’s why there a little screw on one side of the little door that covers the area that your supposed to terminate the wires in. This is the second video of this exact fan that has been hooked up in the attic outside of the fan box. Unless both guys just show what wire goes where and throws them into the fan jbox and didn’t show it on the video and if that’s the case then great but it would be nice to show people exactly how it’s done so it’s safe that’s 120vac if it’s open air spliced like on this video I would say redo it properly.
I have to get this in my remodel!
Is it possible to burn the switch ?
Has anyone installed two of these? It seems that the wall swicht has only one frequency, theyre acting like a three way switch
I bought one but my fan has not just 1 black 1 white an then green it has 2 blacks 2 whites 1 green wires
They may have changed the wiring in the newer models. Always consult an electrician first but my guess would be they now have separate power wires for the fan. So you would twist to combine the black with black and white with white to create one wire to the switch. Green is still the ground wire.
Great video thanks for the information👍🏿
I would like to know where you got this fan from?
Home Depot
Great video thank you for sharing. Do you still like it and has it had any Problems since being installed?
Sometimes there's a slight rumble in the fan that can be heard if you're not playing music. So I may go back in the attic and make sure everything is tight with the brackets. Thinking about it though, it's a fan running at high speed in a thin metal box. It may just be something to live with. Otherwise, it's been a great value for the money with load of enjoyment. The amount of bass you get out of the speakers will probably be determined by the size of your shower and how it's enclosed. Ours is fairly large so the speaker sound trends more towards treble than bass if I'm looking for something to criticize about it.
What kind of batteries does it take? The gentleman who installed ours must have tossed them in the trash and we cannot find anything online or in the manual regarding the batteries for the remote.
CR2032
So this is rated to be installed in a shower
I don't know the answer to that but ours has been installed for about 3 years and is holding up just fine. No rust, no issues. That said, the remote that came with the unit is crap. It did rust although it appeared to be a water-resistant design.
This is a great video. I am buying the same exact fan. I just have one question. How did you vent the fan? Did you run the line through the attic and cut a hole in the outside wall, or did you just vent it to the attic?
DO NOT Vent it to just the attic! You will rot your attic out. That moisture has to go somewhere. Different states vary from what you're allowed to do due to local codes; Having said we run it through the roof.
Just had mine installed. The switch wont pair.😭. I attempted several times.
Make sure someone else in the house didn’t pair to it automatically. We have this problem sometimes my wife and I. I’ll want to use the speaker but her phone is paired to it and the speaker won’t release her Bluetooth and pick up mine. Even after turning off the speaker and back on, it wants to pair to her phone even though I’m a foot away from the speaker.
I can’t get the blue light to stay on. Anyone????
La verdad no entiendo como conectarlo a la corriente
Detailed and awesome!!
