We need more such type of tournaments where the nearly there get a chance to prove what they are made up of. CA had this vision of holding tournaments alongwith stronger countries by fielding their A side as well as their main squad.

Ten summers earlier Sri Lanka were the minnows of test cricket, and playing both Australia and the WI in the WSC that season, but then maybe the fourth team wasn't needed to artificially compensate for their "weakness" against the stronger teams.
I remember that there was a little bit of controversy having Australia AND Australia A playing in the B&HWSC. I presume England complained because it never happened again.

I think if we had an Australia A side now the bowling attack would be stronger than the batting.
