I really enjoyed your analysis of modern Goldeneye, thank you. I wonder if things could get easier now that MS owns ActiBlizzard; seems that the rights might have simplified?
I love CRTs, especially for retro games so that roast was hilarious. I have a pretty average Dell E770S monitor for PC and a Sony PVM-14M2U for console/DVD. For those I use a VGA/HDMI adapter and RGB or component respectively. The 14M2U has no S-video sadly so no high-quality N64 video but PS1/PS2/Xbox look pretty great on it.
Great video! This might be a hot take, but personally, if it came down to GoldenEye existing in the nebulously grey abandonware status, or re-releasing like this, I'd rather the game stayed "dead". At least then, there's the vague justification that the game isn't for sale anymore, so commercial interests aren't being harmed (which semi-legitimises unofficial distribution). Now they're pushing you onto yet another digital purchase they can yank away at any moment. Yet another nail in the game ownership coffin...
The video in a nutshell, tbh. If they're going to sell it, either do it right or don't bother. Even I wanted to take the optimistic route, but reality didn't pan out that way. It's 2023/current year, I'm sick and tired of half-assed port jobs just to cash in and sell their shitty digital services (that everyone's gonna forget in a year when this gets delisted AGAIN for licensing reasons and the wow factor's worn out). Thank you for coming to my TEDx Talk.
Remember when this was supposed to be a "quick" project? Well... SURPRISE.
Thanks to all for the patience. You lot rock.
Don't worry about the DVI roast. The only display that has a HDMI in my house is the tv, I have 2 square office monitors that bot use VGA cables lol.
its criminal that you arent getting more views, keep it up tho im sure it will come with your quality
Bro, you are the best editor, hopefully the algorithm gods give you the boost.
