Hi Chloe! I applied ED and got in this week! Thank you for always uploading, I love your videos and always get me excited and happy! Hope to see you soon!!!
YAY SHE'S BACK!!! Also... Chloe, Your channel was one of the reasons I EDed to Chicago. Thank you for sharing your experience and application process with UA-cam (as a prospective student it was incredibly helpful to get a realistic view of student life). Last week I found out I got in and am so excited to attend!!!
Hey! I got accepted Friday on ED II, your videos really helped me decide that UChicago was the best place for me and I can't wait seven months to be there! Thank you thank you thank you!!!
I notice a lot of food shots in Chloe videos, I'm wondering if we could get a recipe vid - maybe call it "How to prevent the freshman 15"?(Based on crude observation)
Hi Chloe, Your videos inspired me to apply ED to UChicago, and were really helpful throughout the process! I was just accepted earlier this week, and can't wait to attend! - btw, do you think you could make a video introducing us to eg. the different residence halls on campus? Ty!
Jenny L I'm so glad that my videos helped in any way!!! super happy that you got accepted and welcome to uchicago :) - and yes I think a non-2 minute introduction to the different dorms is critical; do you think it should be one long video or multiple shorter ones/ features?
@@asynchloe Hi Chloe! Thanks for your reply :) It would be helpful if all the dorms are introduced in one video, as one could more quickly/directly compare the different dorms to each other, but having them all under one folder as short videos would be great as well - especially if some would then release sooner. (I've already looked through reddit etc. but I do feel like getting to see the people/dorms themselves would be really helpful.) Thanks so much!
Hey Chloe! Been watching your vids for like a year and I finally got in ED1! I go to an IB school in Hong Kong but i have to take Chinese A haha :) hopefully I’ll see you on campus sometime!!!!!
Please could you tell me whether you received any financial aid? I was thinking of applying ED II for financial aid. If you didn't, do you feel the degree is worth the full tuition? Thanks :)
Tony Shorrocks Thanks for commenting!! This is a massive issue (I think) when it comes to deciding on UChicago or not - I did not apply for financial aid and so am paying full tuition for the school. To be entirely honest, I think it does depend on what you intend to study and what other schools you have to choose from - If you want a more liberal arts degree and are choosing between multiple liberal arts schools that are similar level, uchicago is absurdly expensive. I think the degree is most worth it and valuable when you want a mixture of something liberal arts but also with a more chill and less intense pre-professional attention to your career! UChicago is good for that (and its in a city). I.e. if you can go to Columbia on a scholarship vs. Full tuition at uchicago, I would say go the former as they’re both in cities, both have a mix of two, and the tuition gap is quite significant - hope this was helpful!!
@@asynchloe I thought I read somewhere recently where someone donated to UChicago to enable any student with a demonstrated family income below $125K to not have to pay tuition? I know the Ivy's wave tuition on students from families that show family income under $75k and wave room and board for families under $65. Most of the other top schools have had to follow suit in order to compete with them. Traditionally, US schools did not give aid to international students, but now they are able. MIT says it meets the need of all it's students. It's a major criticism that elite US (private) colleges's student bodies feature too many students from the top (donor)class and lower class - out of guilt they seek them out(for example, Dartmouth's original mission was to educate Native Americans and they realized they haven't been doing that - but very few middle class students. The low income students are usually at a disadvantage in that the schools they attended did not offer the opportunities that the prep school students had. The top students from the middle class wind up at state universities. I wonder if Chloe has had any discussions on campus about this issue, as it's a very large issue.
Is their any dorms? (Didn't watch full video yet sorry I don't know) Because i'm 27 minutes away from their. And wish I can choose to stay at home instead of a dorm life. (Talking about coming home each evening. Instead living in a dorm.)
I'm 15 and I got a letter from colleges and one of which was the university of chicago. I told my mom bout it and she said what any mom would say bout Chicago (hell no Jason) she's afraid bout the crime, but I beg to differ with her and showed her dis video.
Hey! I grew up in Chicago my entire life and I can tell you that the Hyde Park area that UChicago resides in is pretty safe (Obama lived there at one point). The best way to find trouble in Chicago is to go looking for it which goes to stay its easy to stay out of it!
congratulations!! And yes NOW it is that every student must stay on campus for 2 years... I was the last year where only 1 year was required, so I moved out early :)
Benjy Molina Indeed! I went to AMUN my first year (it was a VERY spicy and weirdly informative experience) - it was my first conference in college and I think served great as a basis for the future ones!
I was pretty bad in school! Had an Abi of 3,4! I always believed the others when they said they don’t learn. So I also didn’t learn. But then i wondered why their grades were so good. Oh well.
Gosh. I commented a few hours ago in one of your videos thinking you were in Shanghai. After watching a few I’ve realised that you taught high schoolers FROM Shanghai and you were actually in Chicago. I’m such a dumbass XD
You are very attractive. Is your school easy or hard? I'm likely traveling into Oxford, after settling in London for vacation---hopefully---July 4th week. I'm sure Oxford is more difficult than Chicago. Hopefully, this damn virus idiocy ends that I might travel.
I just found out I got accepted! See you next fall 🥳
Namu’s Dimples YAY Congratulations!! :>

@@chilastica yep!
I’m touring there in 4 days! So excited :)
Olivia Only 2 more days left! Though a quick heads up now it looks a bit desolate and in general just.... cold
@@asynchloe haha I'm from the northeast so I'm used to the chilly weather, I'm sure the campus is beautiful any time of year!
Hell yes I’m in this video
Is the music playing during the library bit from "Spirited Away" by Hayao Miyazaki?
I think so! :) I know it's ghibli somehow
This is my dream college❤️
I have played basketball with your math teacher before. Very nice guy, aggressive in the paint
姚奕捷 Thanks Jerry, you must be so good at basketball, see you on the flip side!
