Beneath the Remains and Arise are very special Sepultura thrash albums. ARISE takes the lead by a hair, as it should being the natural follow up with the benefit of progression. Great band. QUADRA is the CD I have waited over 20 years for. Things went down when Max left, but I didnt automatically assume they would be awful without him.
I’ve never been a huge Slayer fan: my big four is Metallica, Megadeth, Anthrax and Testament. All but Metallica are playing a festival near our house in September and I can’t wait!
@@Mr.Smith_777 it's not about who's first. Big 4 was the top selling & popular thrash bands! Testament was close in sales with them . & I'm Not saying the others were bad. Overkill would be my #6!

Love thrash and love Power Trip. I'm a firm believer that one of the most important things that makes good thrash is that old school 80s sounding quality. The minute I heard Power Trip I was instantly in love.

But when that relationship ended, I just stopped caring...It was such a weird but at the same time relieving feeling. I was always working so hard in school and at work to please others that it brought me to the brink of a severe depression. But having that flick of a switch moment really made me realise what's important in life. And for me those things are my closest friends and bandmates and the good times we spend together, since those are the things you will remember with a smile when you are old. Testament is obviously the best thrash metal band in the world, always evolved their music and never dissapointed the funs, also Alex is a phenomenal guitar player and the band has a super line up !!!!
This is one of your best videos, Ola. It’s very very cool to hear your history with music with Louise, and then the question of the day segment was just jam packed with awesome.
Exodus are one of my most absolute favorite bands, the song Last Act of Defiance is a fucking ripper. Anthrax were actually more popular than Slayer and Megadeth at certain points during the 80's and early 90's. If you look at the album chart positions by year, some of their early to mid-career albums were ranked higher than Slayer and Megadeth albums at the time. Their videos were in heavy rotation on MTV and they also had a series of mainstream crossovers like the famous collaboration with Run-DMC on their song "Bring the Noise" and a guest appearance on the episode of "Married With Children", but for some reason since the mid 90s their popularity started declining while the other 3 of the big four were successful at maintaining their relative popularity level throughout the rest of the 90's and early 00's and that's probably why people these days think of them as the 4th of the four, or maybe even undeserving of the spot in the big four. One thing that hit them really hard in the aftermath of 9/11 was the series of terror attacks with letters laced with anthrax that almost caused them to change their name.
@@mykuntstynx9463 Yeah, you're right. I misspoke when I said they almost changed their name. What I meant to say was that they were pressured to change their name because it became toxic after the series of anthrax laced mail terror attacks.
