"I'm not a guitar player." -- Sorry, kid. You can't say that anymore. More intros like that, please. I love watching a newcomer to the instrument find her/his way. This was a complete success. That "blip" thingie in the Black Sabbath tune is a digital encoding artifact. The CPU/HDD probably had a hiccough while encoding the track and noise is the result.

    • @KingFilth
      @KingFilth 3 роки тому +1

I thought another guitar played that “blip”. I hear another guitar playing the same riff but higher in pitch

It was a great Sunday morning & heart warming to see you both making music together.
I'm 66 & wanted to give a side comment on the pioneers of metal. While you covered a lot of good ground on the early days. There was a few bands way before Iron Maiden.
Judas Priest had 5 albums out before Maiden, most notably Sad Wings of Destiny & Stained Class (the song Exciter, would be considered early Thrash in 1978)
Early Scorpions with Uli Roth on guitar was before Maiden or Accept.
(Check out the song Sails of Charon, for some blistering guitar)
UFO's early albums, Force It & No Heavy Petting influenced a bunch of metal guitarists.
Thin Lizzy & Budgie as well .

I loved Iron Maiden back in the 80's, but they seem to have been rehashing "Powerslave" for every record since then. With few exceptions, the songs sound the same (namely, the gallop).
Conversely, Judas Priest (who started as a blues-based rock band, like Black Sabbath) foreshadowed albums like "Ram It Down" and "Painkiller" with songs like "Rapid Fire". Judas Priest are very diverse. The are pioneers, and just when you think they have been left in the dust, they show the young guns how it's done by the masters.

Also, nice seeing to giving some love to Mnemic! My fellow danes were a very big inspiration for me back around their debut album. Such a shame that the band ultimately called it a day. Lots of great danish bands have been shortlived. There was a band called "Vira" that is was super into. They released 2 EP's and a debut album before disbanding. One of the Vira guitarists - Victor - actually played in Mnemic on their last album.
If you do blackgaze on one of your Metal Mornings please remember to include the danes in MØL. They make amazing music :-)

It was the day after Su's (the lead singer) 16th birthday and the other members, Yui and Moa, were 14. If you want some great theater check out the last three songs from that show; Headbanger, Unfinished Akatsuki and Babymetal DEATH which are together known as "The Trilogy of Death".

You could also talk about movements like:
    -New Wave of Thrash
-New wave of Hardcore (Nwoh has been really fresh recently, bands like Jesus Piece and Knocked Loose)
    -New wave of metalcore

Yet another cool video guys! Maybe a cool idea would be to spend 5-10 mins on a specific band, going through their time-line quickly checking out song (for example Bullet For My Valentine)
Either way, I'll still be here for every single video whatever you decide to film :)

From Denmark, try Vola with their song "24 light-years". Just f***ing beautiful! They are proggy, have beautiful melodies and are great musicians.
