you missed one of the greatest bands of the genre , John Browne ( Monuments ) and Acle ( Tesseract ) With the mighty "Fell Silent" , True originators of the genre,
I hasten to add fell silent were pre tesseract and pre periphery releasing their first album in 08 and forming in 03 , ;) thank you @metalmorningthoughts for the info x
My husband and I watch you and Louise every Sunday morning. He’s a guitarist and it’s a fun way for me to get a better understanding of what he’s into. Thanks guys!
This is wholesome. The legendary Patrice O'Neal once asked the question to the women in his audience, 'how would you keep your man if you lost your pussy in a train accident?' Quite the rarity to see this. God bless.
Hi Ola and Louise. I was semi pro musician all my life but had to quit everything some years ago because of my degenerative health. I made rock, punk, and newwave all my life, but always been a metalhead inside. I love your metal mornings cause i can easely thanks to you dig into all these subgenres, which for the most of them i never heard of ever… but most of all, Ola, you gave me the strengh and the motivation to buy me a new guitar (i sold all my gear as soon as i saw i couldn’t make recordings or live anymore….) and to try to play, for myself, just for the pleasure. Your pantera vids are incredible, and i think this is what made me have all this idea from. Sorry for my bad english, i’m French. Keep on the good work, i love you both and thanks for all what you bring to me.
I just wanted to say that your and Louise's marriage is incredibly inspiring. You two seem like you genuinely enjoy each other. It is also very inspiring that you are a team, both in work and in home life. Cheers!
I guess the inspiring thing is that Ola always looks like he's having fun. It's about the guitars, gear and music in a very relaxed un-nerdy way. Not about rehearsing 5 hours a day to be technical perfect or having expensive gear. 👍
Ola. Keeping the vibe the way it is, the content you bring has changed a ton of us. Some musically, some personally and some in unique ways. But no matter what, the fact remains you influence us and we appreciate it. I discovered your content years ago and this content helped me through some of the hardest times. And all I do is sit down with my coffee and just disconnect. Thank you for that. You’re famous to us, no matter what. This community slaps and it’s fantastic here.
Louise: "put what if you dont Djent?" she is so on point, that whole meme about "but dose it Djent?". Loved the episode, I just got into "Djent" this year really and i found a number of new bands to listen to. Thanks
It would be great to email you, but I don't want it to be more work. I believe just leaving it is the best. If you happen to read this, though, just know that y'all are appreciated and make a big difference for me, if nothing else. Three youtubers have really inspired me and got me to actually kick off my career in guitar and recording. You, Rob Chapman and Glenn Fricker. Lots of inspiration in y'alls corner of the internet.
The reason I've been such a loyal member of your channel since finding it (outside of just loving the content itself) is because of the sincerity of you and Louise as well. You're both just down to Earth people and despite any of the successes along the way nothing has gone to your heads. It always shows. Never change!
i don't think djent is a genre it's more of a guitar style like shred you can find djent on prog rock, prog metal, metalcore, and deathcore just like how you can find shred on hard rock, heavy metal, and thrash metal

I think that is the key to your success, that you are doing what you enjoy and not trying to be famous. There is a sincerity in what you do that comes through these screens like we are just sitting here chilling with one of our mates.
I really love these in depth conversations between you and Louise. So enjoyable to hear your thoughts on answering fan emails, or talk about metal genres.
louise is def looking more comfortable. way to go girl! and it's awesome, that when ola starts acting like a goofball, she doesn't just roll her eyes, she's still pretty amused. you guys rock.
Today I received my email stating my Ultimate album package was making its way to me here in the UK, I am so excited! What's even cooler is the fact I can get that guitar tab book and develop my guitar chops on my new Solar guitar! :D Thanks Ola for giving me the boost I needed to get back into learning on the guitar as I have been in such a rut recently, you and Louise have put in so much hard work to send out all these goodies that I am going to enjoy and I appreciate all the effort and will hopefully be participating in some Riff challenges in the near future to show off some of these goodies :)

Great Epsode!! The BEST for you and mighty Louise! I thought, originally, Fredrik meant just chugged powerchords (on three strings at least?) as a 'djent djent' thing, but maybe I'm wrong. YOU have a contact with King Fredrik, and YOU can ask Him! ;) The best wishes from Poland! I'm a fan basically from the beginning of your YT journey :)

I don't know that much about Djent, so thx for this quick introduction. Now I ask myself, was the swedish band Mnemic also an influence for Djent? When they came out early 2000s, they also had a really complex, rhythmical sound and songwriting. Even more than Mudvayne on their first record. Both bands propably don't belong to the Djent-Scene, but they also kind of brought back complexity in "modern" metal (at least back than). And a band wayyyy before their time, also from Sweden, were Psycore. Very unorthodox Songwriting. First time hearing "I go solo" back in late 90s on Music TV, blew my mind. Greetings from Germany

If you're doing an episode of Djent, I'm very much hoping for a Thall episode, especially considering Sweden is like the birthplace of most bigger bands that fall under that, and Thall in general. Let's get some talk about Vildhjarta, Humanity's Last Breath, both Swedish bands, Vildhjarta started thall in general I believe. Meshuggah can fit in there as well, and then Uneven Structure can fit in there most likely too *Edit just got to the part with mention of HLB and Vildhjarta. I’ve always said Djent is a sound, not a genre. It’s the chugging sound a guitar makes when you play that style.
I've always thought of Djent as the Dubstep of metal, it will come and go...
