Davis Instruments FINALLY Gets a Much Needed Update! - WeatherLink Live

- Weather Link Live brings Davis Instruments up to speed with their competitors in terms of technology. Now you can upload directly to the internet without the need for a dedicated computer. In this video, I give a brief overview of the WeatherLink Live. In coming videos, I will show how to set it up and I will give a full review after I use it for a little bit longer. The unit can be purchased on Amazon or directly from Davis Instruments themselves.
I am 41. Got my first weather station when I was 16? Davis- Weather monitor II. I just decided to look at getting a new weather station from them and their console still looks like a calculator. The WLL just came out and buy, Im excited about that. They need a full color console. Why they haven't invested much in basic things is crazy to me. This is good news!
Now there is the WeatherLink Console! Finally!!

What about the ridiculous pricing (on going price, too) you have to pay just to get access to charts/data/historical data? Buy a data logger clone for $50/£50 and you'll get access to everything at any interval for gratis.
The fact that Davis won't allow you to get access to historical data that YOU recorded, without paying for it is criminal.
Model number of such a device? Can it be hooked to a router's USB port? My WRT3200ACM has USB3 and USB2/esata ports.

Awesome video. I just installed a Vantage Pro 2 with fan back on April 25. Had to replace the unit within a week as the fan stopped working. But since then, all is good. I still find that my daily high temps are 2-3° higher than the official reading at ABE (I live in south Allentown). The ISS is installed at a height of 60” above a grassy surface. That aside, I am extremely interested in weatherlink. Now, you’ve piqued my interest. Time to look more into this product. New subscriber here! Glad I found you. Thanks. 🙏
Great video I have 2 pro2 plus stations online with weather link live here in central NY now have added a vantage pro2 and a vantage vue to my online weather stations for a total of 4 that I own.

My Davis Vantage Pro 2 is 14 yeas old. If I replace the outdoor units due to age will my current console still work with the new WeatherLink Live? Do I still need a console or PC to view current weather conditions on the station on my cellphone?
I have -- Weatherlink Live -- How long does it take for the data to appear on the weatherlink live app on your phone or computer --- i have a seperate wind sensor -- with transmitter -- i cant get it-- data to appear on phone or computer help ---- is there more videoes july 8th 2021 10:18pm pac time thanks help
i see some you tubers own websites have this system and they got the code from some were and put it on there website, i am looking at buying the pro one but 2 things i dont find on there website. 1 how do you get you weather from the system onto my web site, 2 i dont see any thing to say how much feet of snow fall. only rain
Okay - so receive up to 8 weather stations at a time? But with the range being about 1000 feet, what's the point of that? Thanks for the content.
Different sensors around your property. Main station, anemometer, pool temp, garden sensors like leaf moisture, ground moisture, the list goes on. It doesn't have to be 8 sensor suites.

I love my Vantage Pro 2, but I think my PC is better than yours. I dont hear it, and I have never lost data with a reboot. It all uploads when the PC comes back on. Now a full power failure might be another issues. I also dont feel I should have to pay Davis for my own data.
To stop that computer issue = Control Panel->Administrative Tools->Services->Windows Update->Disable
Been there, done that. It doesn't work. I even edited the registry file and it still reboots without my permission.
@@MisterTwister55 Well that's 10 for ya. I've retro installed Win 7 on all of my machines. Perhaps a way to go for you? You can still get copies. And that nonsense with it not being support is Microsoft bull to fool people into using 10. 7 Runs like wild on my i7 and i9 cpus. After begin out for 10 years they worked out all the issues with it. It doesn't need anymore fixing, and all the original patches are still available for download. They will be indefinitely.

Have you ever used a modern computer, my computers are not loud , i'll take a desktop or laptop computer over your best tablet or stupid (smart) phone with the tiny screen any day
If you found a way to make windows 10 run forever, please help me out. 3 different computers and it either crashes or updates without my consent.
look in to ubuntu if you want to ditch windows 10
