The new Sid has longer upper tubes to increase bushing overlap and reduce the chance of having play develop in the stanchions... I think the weight difference comes mainly from that.
i bought this suspension last month, i have 4 diffent mtb, i have fox factory 32, dt swiss f232 one and this. i would say this is the best of the best. very efficient shock absorbing plus the lightest weight. it's very expensive but it's definitely worth paying that much. highly recommendable.
Thanks for the video. You are may be the only one who actually test the SL version of the Sid, everybody just use the 35mm Sid. Even you have chosen the bigger Sid on your Supercaliber gen 2 rather than SL. Seems like SL version is now considered old school. You can still find it on the top racing versions of some bikes (Supercalibes XX SL, Sworks Epic WC, Canyon Lux WC) but I guess in the next version there won´t be the SL version. As SL can be found cheaper than regular 35mm SID I wonder how these 2 compare for you when you had a chance to ride both. From the video it seems SL is sufficient enough:)
Have just fitted the Rockshox Ultimate Twistloc to a Scott Spark RC 2022 to replace the three lever Twinlock. I used rubbing alcohol with no personal problems lol. It fits really well with the Shimano XTR 9100 I-SPEC EV spec brake lever with the Twistloc cable outlet under the lever. I used the Shimano SL-MT800-IL drop out lever. Better ergonomics altogether than using the Twinloc and the grips, as you say, are excellent and better than lock-ons. Thanks for the video to show how you set this up on a really smart bike. Scott have been using a custom suspension system with a pedal mode for a long time.
Thanks for your cool video. What size tire did you mount on the front. According to RockShox recommendations, the maximum for the SID ultimate SL is 29 x 2.35 mm. Is this correct? Because the 2.40 mm might rub on the fork. Thanks
I wish you could do a quick tutorial or short on how to adjust the cable tension for the three position lockout when you don’t have a barrel adjuster without destroying the top cap. Kind of a “know how”video.
Interesting video👍 I'm looking to upgrade my bike soon, may be a Nukeproof Scout, is it easy to fit a remote front fork lockout or is it better for a bike shop to do it for me? Thanks👍
I love love to do this upgrade. I have a 2023 Epic Evo LTD with 2 pos. Sid Ultimate. Can I do that with the upgrade, kit or is new fork/shock needed? My rear shock also has the machined shoulder. Guessing it is the new one? What about the forks spec'd on that bike?
Itching to build a new bike with this new Rockshox/sram stuff, but think im going to hold off a bit and see when the flight attendant stuff comes out. Only sad thing is it probably wont come speced on any 2024 bikes, might have to hold off for more than another year until the 2025 bikes come speced with it. Great vid tho, those trails seem fun!
You aren't the only one I've very recently seen changing their travel for Marji. Some of that RAMBA and Harlow stuff makes my 120/115 Blur TR feel under gunned. Are you doing the 50 or the 100?
Really enjoying the videos lately. Not much content out there about BC40s. Awesome looking bike! What is your specs on the handlebar and stem setup? CHeers!

Yea the SL is great. I have it on my WC currently. I think it’s more dependent on the bike for me what fork I’d want. The 35 sid is also amazing

Recent subscriber. Your videos are rad! Nice balance of mechanic work and riding.

2.4 fits
Really enjoy the videos!
Thanks! More coming
I read that the middle setting mode at the front is barely noticeable, but at the back it does the job, is it true
You have so many options to choose, not only togs are innerbarends, pick up anorher like sqlab 411 R or 411 2.0
Nice install walkthrough.
Thanks!

Wheels manufacturing PF92 has been a great. Press fit over threaded for sure
Check out bb infinite
Curious on your fork setup what psi and rebound clicks from slow you landed on. I have been struggling with mine since so many clicks of rebound.
Interesting video👍

What is that tool that you use to camphor the fork after cutting the steerer?

El peso esta en el rodamiento que quitaste de una y colocaste a la otra
Where can I buy Sid SL Ultimate 100mm 3p 2024 with remote lockout?
How did the togs for twistlock work out?
They don’t really. I just had it off to the side of the lock

What is the max width tire can be used with Rockshock SId SL Ultimate? Example can an Maxxis Ardent 29X2.4 work?
I was running 2.4 no problem in the fork
Thanks@@bicyclestation

100, I’m gonna build an epic evo with a 120 fork and Cush core for it. I wanna keep the bc40 110 until flight attendant launches
Ótimo vídeo! Entre fox 120mm vou rock Shox 110mm ! Me esclarece bem o seu vídeo 👍
I accidentally ordered the one with remote. I don’t want the remote. Can you remove the remote assembly on the fork?
Yes but it’s a 150$ part and would require knowing how to tear down and rebuild a fork
@@bicyclestationdamn, costly mistake. Need to sort that out asap.
Are you ever gonna lock it out? You could just ignore it
@@bicyclestation I don’t like how it looks either. The crown looks so much cleaner.
