Ronny for me you remain number 1 on UA-cam. I've been watching you for many years and no matter what car you drive, you remain the travel king! Best regards from Germany!
Although it was heavy, i loved the look of the full canopy of Stage II. I fondly remember the days with you in the Stage II 79, your Dad in his Jeep, Torbin in Little Bear and Wayne in his truck cruising WA. So good, Always felt like I was riding along with you boys. thanks
You will regret it! For a few dollars now, 20yrs from now your gunna want the vehicle that brought you so many memories and put your channel on the map…

This legendary 79 got me into watching build vidoes and ultimately following Ronny's channel since 2019 and every other Aussie 4 wheel drive channel. Sad to see the old boy go. Thanks for the memorable 79 memories.
I am so glad you kept the Troopy! It is your family vehicle and memories with family are very precious. The 79 on the other hand is your signature vehicle, it has been a part of you that has inspired ordinary folks to get our there in their 4bys and have a go. It is such an iconic beacon and l am sure others like me would love to be given opportunities to make our own memories in it, to add to the history and story of this vehicles amazing life.
@Ronny Dahl Very disappointed you have associated yourself with a mob like this. With the opportunity to win your 79, I went straight to the link you provide to buy a ticket. Being the cynical old fart that I am I checked a few things like terms and conditions, then ABN & ASIC search. I will NOT buy a ticket now and would suggest no one does until they fully understand what they are getting into and who they're supporting. Otherwise love your channel and enjoy every episode.
@@DasGav Das to start with they want your data and then it's aimed at getting you to subscribe to an ongoing gambling commitment. Run like a charity lottery but there is no charity its a private company.

Damn.. Started watching your channel in 2014, still love your old videos doing muddy Brunswick. Absolutely an incredible vehicle that has taken you to some spectacular places over the years, looking forward to watching your future adventures. Long live the V8 79 👍
You just killed your UA-cam first child. I will always remember your early days coming out from this car with a big smile. Yes the car is old but its been your loyal servant bring you back home every trip. Its a sad day for long time follower like me.
Going from enclosed vehicles like the Suburban to a Pick up, I can say I am not surprised you let the tray back 79 go. There are a ton of benefits in having an enclosed cabin.
I still remember getting very confused by seeing a giant poster of it outside a 4x4 shop in Bogota, Colombia. They'd just ripped it off to use as marketing because it was such a great looking vehicle.
Never thought this day would come! Mind I say, your truck is what inspired me to get a 79 in the first place! Will miss it on the channel. Good luck mate!
Can't believe it!!! Have watched since the start. For me it's stage 2 simple "cheap" canopy with plenty of space and practical. For me I have a 105 for the hard stuff... The 76s are just so small in the back...
Time to say goodbye…that’s a song!!! Life changes…the world turns. Sometimes the most rewarding experiences are those that are the hardest to make a decision for. Good on you!
I get it! But your going to have big regrets over this. You always remember your first, and you’ll always love and miss this car. And so will the fans! Your best content was filmed in the 79, those long form raw videos that were in 3-6 parts, traveling across large stretches of country with Torban and Wayne. The glory days!!
For me my favourite vids have always been the ones you've done on the south coast - setup doesn't matter! In particular, the stuff around Bremer Bay. Stunning locations, amazing drives, paradise-like camping.
Favorite version? The heaviest over-laden era with 'The Lot'...powering through everything irrespective of the weight like a metal god. Best vehicle ever. Thanks for the memories...
The 79 what a beauty , any Aussie will be lucky to win 👍 the troopy is definitely a family 4x4 great stuff Ronny fantastic to pass on the fun to the new owner 🎉
Sad to see the 79 go, it was such an icon not just for the channel but also as a 4WD in general. Stage IV was the most iconic look for me, it was also the time I started modifying my own rig, but Project Black is definitely the sexiest look and I've used that as an inspiration for my personal setup.
I thought the troops was going for sure. A very hard decision for you no doubt. The best rear set-up on the 79 is the one that is on it now. Light, well thought out and looks good.
I have loved that 79 for so many years, watching all the different configurations. But the trips and adventures, second to none. A truly superior channel, and a superior host and a damn fine bloke. Now done to business, if I win it, I'll pay for the shipping to Vancouver, Canada!
Good decision Ronny and one you shouldn’t have to justify - your a mature fellah now with a young family having more practical needs - I’d love a new Troopy auto for a 2 person traveller being much nicer to drive than messing around with a clutch pedal while stalling on steep tracks inclines and using extra fuel - I enjoy my automatic Hilux/Aluminium canopy (lift off) setup for farm/touring duties but would definitely choose the new auto Troopcarrier for dedicated touring duties around Australia and I expect to see a lot more of them as folk dump their manual V8s for something more practical and much nicer to drive.
Good luck to you guy's!!! I'm in America and cant enter sadly. I started watching Ronny many years ago while searching off road instructional content and fell in love with the 79. I would consider moving there if I could win actually would love to live there period. Best wishes to you all.
Congratulations Ronny, you have done soooo much and shared it warts and all with us , we have learnt lessons by the dozen, we have chosen mods in a special personal way irrespective of the base vehicles we own ! Never stop, we value your input too much !
This is your signature vehicle. The 79 is the child of your UA-cam channel. I cannot phantom your emotions selling it. I thought you’d sell the Troopie. But as the father I know you are I understand why you’re selling the 79. My favorite of your 79’s? The current one.

Good Day from Alabama, USA. I've been watching from the beginning. The 79 has been a beast, and I've love the ride from the beginning. I know the content is just as great without it. It was a tool of your desire, and that drive will remain the same. Keep up the great work. Cheers

You’re off ya head but if you didn’t sell 1 you’d have a small car yard in your driveway! But I would go the new tray with the project black canopy then the wheels on the back with the little hidy hole 👌
Sad to see the 79 go, but you've made the correct choice Ronny. You've always looked to develop things and try something new. Sleipnir is developed as far as you can take it and anything more would be just re-treading old ground. The 78 is a different style of travelling that you are yet to fully explore on your channel. And the 76 is obviously where Toyota are heading in the next few years. (Goodbye 4.5L V8 😢). And the PCOR tray stage was my favourite.
The end of an era! At least the V8 will live on in the Troopy. My favourite set up is still Project Black. To me it was the best of both worlds by having both a canopy and a tray.
