The Bruins should definitely be fine as the season goes on, I’m definitely on the fence with Monty here. I think he has the capability to be a great great coach, but with that whole ordeal of Marchand stating he doesn’t want to play on a line with rookies and he wants to play alongside Morgan Geekie (even though to me Geekie isn’t worth much), it does affect my view of Monty negatively because he is supposed to be the head coach, and the head coach needs to know when to step in and overrule his players saying “no, we are not doing that, you need young talent around you” Swayman I agree will be fine, I know he’s let in 3-4 goals in the 7 games he has played so far, but that’s not gonna stay like that. He is far too talented to continue a spiral like that and you will see him go back to his 2 GA average 100% They do need to cool it with the penalties though. Especially Pasta, WAYYYY too many penalties given out and if you can’t play like a top PK team, then stop taking so many of them. It’s unnecessary and will only hurt you more I’ve definitely been watching the Bruins more closely this year, and the few holes they have can be fixed but I do think they need a new coach that will take charge and lead the players instead of the player(s) leading him. Overall, Bruins are gonna be a mean team come playoff time. Midway through the season, I think you’ll find that their scoring has improved, the defense around the net will get tighter, and the young talent will find a big deal of confidence that can be lethal driving the puck to the net. My biggest hope is that Boston and Florida don’t meet in the first round because as far as the Atlantic division goes, I’m not completely sold on Tampa right now, Toronto is just… well Toronto 😂. Boston and Florida make a great 2nd round match up, I wish they could meet in the ECF but unfortunately that’s not possible 🤷🏻♂️ oh well.
I have been shamelessly quoting @TrueMr.Quinn1 throughout the week after such an intelligent comment! The amount of penalties this team gives up while being so incapable of killing a power play seems like such a fatal flaw! People are definitely starting to clamor about Swayman’s performance so far this season now that he’s had a few rough games. Bruins fans are now split on the coach and the goalie it seems. WINNING CURES ALL THOUGH! If this team can find a way to start winning, all will be forgiven, but so far it’s been a rough start for the Bruins this year.
Hey guys! So I wanted to just comment on the game last night. While it was disappointing to lose in OT the way we did, I was BEYOND impressed that the Celtics were able to smash through the adversity and make the game competitive. Even though it seemed like so much was not going right for us all game, I’m more impressed by the ability to make such an epic comeback and force OT. Despite the loss, this team showed heart and unbelievable talent.
JeffUnknown, I wanted them to finish that game with a win SO bad, with Tatum nailing the game tying three and dominating in overtime to force the National Talk shows to talk about him, but unfortunately Tatum's shot disappeared in O.T. but yes, nice, gritty comeback, but man, I thought they weren't putting themselves in these positions anymore. Not playing defense for 3 quarters and going TOO far with the threes despite them not falling. Guess there's still some lessons to learn for this team.
@@jeffunknown9927 my only gripe with that Pacers game is who the shot went to, and that’s splitting hairs. You had to take what the pacers gave you, because they were immediately going to foul at the end of OT and make it 2 shots. I wish it went to White who hadn’t missed all night from 3. Horford and Jrue played limited minutes too in the loss. I am curious what tonight looks like against this odd Charlotte team.
TrueMr.Quinn! Another insightful comment ... like ALWAYS! In fairness to Montgomery, I believe he has the best record of any coach in history in their first two seasons with a new team. But this salty old man also doesn't forget: #1 Constantly giving up goals in the last minute of a period and close game. #2 Scoring has gotten worse even with adding Elias Lindholm. (It would be REALLY bad if our 4th line wasn't riding this insane hot streak. Wait until they cool down and see how bad our scoring is.) #3 One of Montgomery's strengths was supposed to be him bringing out the best in young players. THAT has definitely not happened because he barely gives them a chance and buried them after every mistake. #4 The amount of too many men on the ice penalties in last years playoffs were unforgivable, and is 1,000,000% on coaching. They literally set a record. #5 He never does anything to manage the older players minutes, and they're always out of gas come playoff time. He's the coach, it's his job to make tough decisions and tell veterans they're taking certain games off. Montgomery has done nothing to remedy any of these, and I feel like his record is due to us having elite goaltending, and playing regular season games as if they were playoffs games. (Which is noble, but the quest for a Cup is a grind like no other, and you need to be rested going into it.) As far as the rest of your comment. I mean, I couldn't agree more, my friend!
@@stevenviner1623 Old Bull, I was really hoping you weren’t right about the offense and scoring of these Bruins… but tonight I have to defer to you and admit you were right. Wow… just wow, I did the math, in that third period, it took them 16 minutes and 37 seconds just to get TWO shots on goal. Those fans had absolutely every right to boo them during that power play in the third because that was atrocious. 3 shots on net in the third period, when you are down by 1 and you had a power play along with pulling the goalie is unacceptable. There was something that wasn’t right about the team I saw tonight and idk if it’s starts with coaching or the players themselves.
TrueMr.Quinn, it's just so painful at the moment. When a team with as much decent talent as the Bruins have plays like this, they are begging for the coach to be fired. And that doesn't make the players right. It's unprofessional that they aren't giving the team and it's fans 100%, but something needs to be done. Fire Montgomery AND trade a major player or two.
