This is a great interview and I just gained so much respect for Matt Light. As a Steelers fan growing up I always hated the pats because I was jealous of their success and always beating us but hearing all these stories from former pats has been amazing. What Light said about the nfl being soft and more injuries occurring and the overall play being worse now than before is TOTALLY TRUE. Great pod!

I grew up with Matt. Trust me when I say he hasn’t changed a bit. His pranks and jokes started way before his football career. He has always been hilarious.
I like how near the beginning of the episode Light talks about how he had a kleptomaniac babysitter and was like “I wonder what that’s like” and then proceeded to tell like 4 or 5 different stories about him stealing stuff.
Man Matt’s speech at the end about getting young people in the trades and getting back to what made our country great is so dead on I’m a carpenter who takes great pride in my job and I feel that’s what’s missing in so many fields and with making so many products. Dead on

It's guys like him that build that great team chemistry, and it's no wonder that the Patriots were ultra-successful with him on the team. We all tend to simplify things by saying it was Brady and Belichick, but anyone that's played team sports knows it takes effort by many guys to win consistently. What an amazing culture they had on their teams. And a shout out to Jules for the hits that he took catching balls over the middle - crucial catches that led to touchdowns and wins.
