- Hey guys, a new video up. So the idea of making this video is asked by my friends. They went over for the Thanks giving dinner last week, and they have check out my two new toys.
So they have asked a lot of which one to pick. It is kinda hard to explain well in a few centences. Also, there are so many people were ask about those few printers, which one should they go for. I hope this video will be helpful.
To me they are both good printers, it is hard to make a comparison with one sub $400 printer to an mid $700 dollars one. They are both worth the money, and it really depends on what you looking for and your budget. AAAAAAnd WIFE'S permission.
Anyhow, if want to check out my review video for both printers, there are more detial there:

The Bambu printers support local LAN mode which bypasses their cloud and sends the gcode file directly to the printer. The one thing you will give up using LAN mode is auto updates and the Bambu Handy app.
It sends encrypted log files back to their servers no matter what you do unless you air gap the whole thing which means you can't get updates. 3d musketeers talks about it a lot on his channel
@@rodiculous9464 No, No it does not. 3dmusk was called on on his BS and independent testing proved him wrong. He even nuked a stream when he was called out on his BS.
The drama on reddit was epic with his reputation in tatters.
Amazing comparison, thank you for putting all of the time into this! Thank you!
Thank you for this very insightful video. Your detailed description of both printers finally helped me make up my mind for my next purchase. I have been looking at the P1S and K1 both. I will be going with the P1S. I airbrush my models so the AMS isn't really something I need, so I will be getting the printer alone.
Ya kinda what I'm thinking, but more carbon fiber 😊
Recently picked up a k1 from microcenter, the extruder and hot end issues have been fixed. It worked great out of the box. I only have about 40 hours of printing on it but no issues so far. For the price I think it’s awesome
I ordered a p1s over Black Friday, after playing around with an ender 3 for about 6 years I thought it was the best value I had seen so far, so it gets here Friday. Great comparison video, just facts and allowing the viewer to draw their own conclusions.
I bought my second P1S on black friday, lol. Have fun!
It’s been 4 months, how has it been!
@@timapologun6995 Great. Very reliable and has just worked since I got it. I did end up getting an AMS in early February and if you ever think you will use it I suggest getting it as it’s $100 cheaper with the printer and the printer comes with more filament.
Good video all information needed is in the video ! great job thx
Thank you for the thoughtful break down. I got the K1 from microcenter and it was in teh perfect rpice range for me. I bought ti to print ABS but I havent done it yet.
it prints really well for ABS, confirm you extruder and hot end is new gen one. If you have old extruder and have issue with the extrusion you need to contact creality support to send you new extruder. I have detailed instruction on k1 review video for different extruder. on test print segment.
I rather pay extra for the premium P1S and get something that works than to buy the cheapest(K1) and get a machine that will give me endless headaches and breakdowns.
I have a k1, and yep the tinkering to get better quality is a bit frustrating, but reliability wise I think it's on par with p1s, quality I think is mostly down to slicer profiles
@@pellcorp I like plug and play lol. I'm a fake engineer!
@@1stHalf I think there are a lot of k1 users out there who just plug in and print without issues
I cheaped out and bought the k1. Terrible mistake. I have a p1s on the way now and the k1 is getting returned after saying to myself I knew better l
🤷🏼♀️ I have 2 k1s and a k1 max now and we haven't had any issues.
Amazing video ! thank you for that , one question .. Can i print any model that i want on P1 or Should stick with their models ?
Good video and thorough review. Very enjoyable to watch. The k1 had inferior prints for sure with the ringing and artifacts
super comparatif et superbe images , bonne continuation , merci.....
Nice video! Just bought the K1. Som tinkering to get it good. Would be really nice to se you continue tinkering with the K1 and see if you can get the same quality as with the P1S. In my experience it seems like you need to use the Hyper PLA to get the best out of the K1. The cat model thats comes with the K1, printed with Hyper PLA looks fantastic. Try that model on both K1 and P1S. Feels like they spent a lot of time to make that model print perfect on K1.
Thanks! I will.
Thank you for your straight to the point review. It has been extremely helpful. I’m a very small channel with limited financial resources to create and start my product line. My current Frankensteined CR10 is kaput, it has served me well but its time on the repair bench is now too frequent. I can’t afford to make a mistake at this crucial point. The price point and availability locally of the K1 and K1C is incredibly appealing but like I said, down time and constant repairs is of the essence. I’ll be going for the P1S. Just need to be patient to get.
You get it?
@@user-hu7rf1hr5r I ended up getting an X1C, and it’s a life changer. While a prototype is printing I work on my next one, when it’s done, the next prototype is printing while I tweak things if needed. So there has been no down time and no holding back proof of concept. No need to worry about is the printer will fail to print.
Great review, thanks
Love my K1! No problems and beautiful fast prints everytime.
Glad to hear that!
Same here!
Sureeeeeeeeeee 😂
Oh and the k1 and the ghosting issue is mailly due to the fact creality used the numbers for imput shaper twice for some reason. Instead of using the x and y they used the same one twice. I found that once the printer is rooted and stock klipper is added, it improved quite a bit. I had to change the imput shaper info in my printer.cfg and made sure it was set to x and y. Now there is still some ghosting but it has improved a lot. This is probably due to the fact the creality motuon system is heavier and not as refined. But for half the price it is hard to compare. And now i also use orca slicer. It also was a way better experience
So yeah, just like you said, I saw a post somewhere, a folk have reach out the their enginner, so they actually did not do the input shaping for x axis. They did it only Y axis and copy that number to x axis. Beacuse the bearing and linear rod they use on k1 cause unrelaible result. Or they couldn't find a good number to apply to all the machines.
Great review! I have the k1 Max, so far it has been great! What needs much more work is there slicer! I use both creality slicer and Orca, I'm still working with both but Orca is far better but I hate transferring files w a usb stick, in that respect the Creality Print Slicer works great.
I think root the firmware might help you experience. Orca will able to send print file just like Creality print slicer did.
curious if they are planning to release a new version. Seeing as it is a couple years old yet the prices are not coming down
No need to transfer files with usb when using Orca! First you slice the model --> then on the Preview you choose Save Gcode (instead of Print) --> then you go to the Device tab and choose upload file. Once you do that, you go to your K1 screen and choose the file icon. Your model is already uploaded. You choose it and you select print.
Great presentation
I've upgraded from my Ender 2 to a K1 and i am very happy about it. I realize that Bambu might be better, but i can say that my K1 also rocks with my own 3d designs.
Amazing
hi, 挺好的讲解,想问一下视频里用的背景音乐是什么名字,很好听,想冥想的时候用~
越来越好了👍
😬
I've heared a lot of negatives with the K1, especially with the first batches. Did they fix most of the problems, e.g. with extruder, hotend?
Is the Speedy the same as the normal K1, just the fixed version? 🤔
It is the same printer. They just name it K1 SPEEDY, but speedy sounds weird i guess, so nobody say it when they talk about k1. lol
They are still shipping the k1 with all the bad parts ask me how I know lol
Inventory machine.. go reaching their online cs, and they will replace extruder for you of you having extrusion issues due to the gen1 extruder setup.
The ringing and ghosting issues of the K1 would drive me nuts.
I recently picked up a k1 as they finally unlocked klipper. As tried it stock and i must say i was not impressed. I then unlocked it and instaled stock klipper and this printer is amazing. It is night and day. I have quite a few printers and most are running klipper now. And the k1 is now my favorite printer. I also picked up a camera, newer hot end andnnewer extruder as well and will keep them as spares. I just find the bambus too expensive and i like to tinker and upgrade so the k1 was more for me.
What upgrades did you do specifically? Also any link on how to unlock and add kipper?
The Bambu during Black Friday sale is crazy cheap.
Gotta link to the klipper install?
I have a K1 and a K1 MAX the measure of bed it's amazing. I belive colors in Bambu Lab it's fine but the true is plastic and if you print parts or what ever you print look profesional you need POST PROCESING.
My guy smoked a good one before this haha I love you my guy thanks for the video I appreciate the information
hahhaha I had the same impression
😆 recorded video at midnight
Hey thank you for the video. I was wondering, which printer would you get now a days if you had $1k?
P1S with AMS. I got myself second unit p1s.
@@SvgLau ty for the reply
Bought a k1 for only 399 so for this price difference I'm ok to root this and make some Improvements, which helps the printer a lot
Question did you upgrade the Firmware of the K1 before the tests. Just asking I don;t own a K1 just P1S
The latest firmware known has some issues. (1.3.28). So I'm putting hold on that. I will go for rooting route when I have time later. So far, it works great with Orca slicer via USB.
@@SvgLauyou have a video on rooting and klipper for K1?
@@dnafpv working on it, should have it out next week or the week following.
Awesome I look forward to it
Hello, I have a problem between these two and I don't know which one to buy. The quality of the print is more important to me. Thank you for your help.
If you have enough budget, go for p1s, a lot better experience.
@@SvgLau I think that the price of p1s doesn't change that much with x1, as I saw that x1 is better in terms of price, but I have a question for you, x1 or p1s? And thank you for giving me your time
If you can handle some tinkering and k1 is around 350 to 400 dollars. K1 is good. If k1 is over $450 ish. Go for p1s.
Huge price difference here in my country. Wanted the Bambu but Creality is more available and costs half of the price.
I would suggest you buy a 3d printer tuning book and then do comparisons cause most of the 'downsides' of the K1 i c in your vid are due to bad tuning. And sure bambu is better out of the box and creality app sucks but if you root the K1 and get the full klipper experience and you can tune it right... K1 is atleast equal to the P1S when it comes to printquality. Also K1 is opensource and can be upgraded easily what you cant say of the bambus. Also it doesnt help that you get a benchy where K1 clearly wins and then you do a second with your own profiles and all the sudden bambu wins cause K1 starts printing bad compared to first one. That makes it look assif you want the bambu to win. Besides all that video and audio quality are sufficient for these type of vids.
Thank you for the feed back!! That's why I have concluded the k1 as a great machine for tinkers. If I get everything dia-in behind behind the scenes and maybe made my own upgrades before comparsion, it will lose the meaning of comparsion of "right out of box condition."
Indeed K1 is great machine, probably the best one in terms of price, value, and potential. I want to show the print comparison with most variables that I can control, like same filament, both default setting from slicer, same room temp, and comparesion them in same light condition and oberserv condition.
Also, I think K1 win both 17m benchy and own sliced benchy, calidragon is close call. P1S win the cube. I did not mentioned it on the video just because I don't want to influences auduices with my personal opinion. Since there are clear image that could judge by themselves.
So the Creality is better because you literally have to fix the issues creality created... Wut?
So creality is great once you tune, upgrade, repair and tweak it to heck and back...sounds like Creality [C]uality
A device being open source is one of the lowest effort reasons to pick a product. Your car, TV, microwave, fridge, cellphone, and damn near everything else in life isnt open source. The 3d printer being your line in the sand is laughable.
Where can buy this printer por USD 370 ?????
it was a lot of sales going on last Nov and Dec, currently there is a deal on amazon around $397usd.
P1s prints seems to be much better than k1 for what I can see in the video.
You're supposed to measure dB levels at 1m, not right next to the motors - for next time 😄
Hey NOOOoo! The hat!! Send him the hat…I’m bald hat is crucial! Trust me!
@4:25 ARE YOU COMPARING THE NOISE LEVEL WITH THE BAMBU DOOR OPEN COMPARED TO THE K1 DOOR CLOSED? LOL WELL THAT KILLED YOUR VIDEO FOR ME. AND P1S PRINT QUALITY WAS NOTICABLY BETTER. +
K1 has bad input shaping, vertical artifacts and even pressure advance doesn't look as nice as the P1P.
I saw somewhere people asked Creality engineer, k1 input shaping only done for y axis. That would totally explain why it happened
@@SvgLau Yeah, Creality managed to fuck up something that came good for the repo, now you get ringing and bad surface artifacts.
They even recommend that you should not print below 400mm/s in order to prevent artifacts... That's a full bag of stupid.
@@eaman11 Pure marketing thing. Engineer never get chance to stand in front and speak what it real is.
If you root to klipper you can fix this issue. Sure you don't have to on bambu, but for someone who enjoys tinkering and saving money, it still seems like a good piece of hardware
@@Holodragon870 I'm afraid you can't solve VFA by root or firmware.
