Lovely to see you. Pity we couldn’t see any cars as well, it would have added to the interest. Saw in the distance some cars I could have been interested it in the distance,
How sad, could have been really good.
Point taken and thank you for your feedback. We’ve had this comment a few times now so we will try and take this on board.
Appreciate you sending your thoughts so we can get better.
Sorry, hopefully we’ll mail it for next time
I really liked how you promoted everybody's kit cars and clubs. I love the Cobra's and the 7's and I'm rather fond of older Jaguars. Thanks for sharing.
We’re trying to promote the industry as a whole - this is why we’re very different to other manufacturers. We’re enthusiastic individuals as you can probably tell.
Now that is a video. Quality stuff sir, thank you very much 👍
And that, is exactly how a proper gentleman does his business. Great look around the show and intro into the scene - excellent video, thanks.
Thanks buddy, appreciate the feedback.
Ive built 3 Westfields, now refurbing mgb gt but love these kit cars ….the handing and power to weight ratio is mad long live this industry 👍
You sound like you need another one if your life….
@@MKSportscarsofficial I am in The United States and I fell in love with the 1928 Morgan RIP with a GN rear making it a 4 wheeled Special. It is clearly an Aero and Charlie Martin drove? piloted it in 2015 trying to keep it from spinning around and being squirrels most of the times coming out of corners. Because Morgan did their best in '28 to make this little Aero just like the aeroplanes of the time I decided to scratch build one here in the US. I tried my best to keep the pieces as British as possible mating the ONAN opposed twin airplane engine to an MGB 4 speed giving it a reverse gear as a bonus. I made a driveshaft that terminates in an MGB rear differential with working juice brakes (unlike the GN rear on the original car). I am using oak and Ash where needed for the passenger area attached to the sturdy metal frame that is completely hidden by the aircraft fabric sprayed with plastic dope like the old aircraft. In keeping with the aircraft theme I am going to hand make a mahogany dashboard populated with aircraft gauges along with a pump for extra oiling and another for fuel pressure in the reserve tank. For all intents and purposes my replica could fly if wings were attached and a prop was fitted to the pto of the front engine. I am going to video the build and take a plethora of pictures at every car show and contest it enters.
@@Biokemist-o3k Mind blown, blown away, far far away!
Thanks for the tour 👍
Where were you? Make sure you come to the Newark show at the end of July.
@@MKSportscarsofficial never been to a kit car show so might have to add it to the calender 👍
Consider it done - kettle will be on and we’re doing a live event so we can scare the pants off you in our workz race car.
Great insight to the show, it was great to meet you as we did on the Sunday. Your stand looked brilliant and I hope you did well. Keep up the great work producing great Video content and Cars
Thanks Colin, we try
Very good review of the kit car show, much needed to promote these cars. I look forward to seeing you at Newark 23.
Thanks, make sure you come and say hello and we’ll make you a brew👍🏻👍🏻
All the interesting cars flashed by during violent pans, and were not mentioned.
We’ll see if we can try and get this licked for the Newark show in 2 weeks time.
I like kid cars I think they're great shows appreciation real work can really achieve simply outstanding beautiful work
As the owner of a car i built, it makes me a little crazy that he keeps commenting on how nice a paint job is....and then he TOUCHES the car!!!! Please, please, please dont touch other peoples cars!
Heres a hint... we don't need to see this guy and the side of his head. We can hear him .. we need to see the cars !! So frustrating to hear him talking about a brand and NOT see it !! Heck !!
Point taken, will try and do better at Newark in a few weeks time.
Less host...more car. Overall , it seems like the same dozen cars over and over. Not every type of kit car as he states.
Thanks for the feedback, we’ll take this on board and try and do better next time at Newark at the end of July #watchthisspace
Well I enjoyed the walk round, thank you Sean for taking the time and effort to show us an overview of the show. Maybe those who didn't like your video should have visited!
Amen brother 👍🏻
Well, some of us live in other countries but do buy British vehicles. This show tour was 90% Lotus Seven derivatives, a little bit Cobras and Gt40s, Atoms and then the rest. Most of us know about these common kit cars but are more interested in the less well known cars. If the presenters intent was to relay the health and potential for the growth of the British kit car industry, he didn't help it much. Too much of seeing his mug and the camera swinging wildly around left a lot out. I was disappointed and felt watching was almost a complete waste of my time. I look forward to a better presentation next year.
@@philipgrice1026 thank you for the feed back - subscribe to the channel and we will take your comments on board to do better next time.
It’s great to know what you want to see, so we appreciate that.
Our marquee is the lotus 7 derivative so we focused on this as this is what we perceived our subscribers would want to see.
Subscribe and we will try and show more at the Newark show next month 👍🏻
@@philipgrice1026 : I was about to comment on this video, then I read your comment and realised I was going to say exactly the same thing!
@jamesslade554 : UA-cam is a global platform... I would have loved to have visited, but New Zealand is about as far away as it is possible to get.
How about actually showing the cars at a car show. That is a nice car there. What was it? Flapping gums car show.
Point taken, we will try and do better at Newark in a few weeks time
I built a JC Midge back in 1980, great project.
Awesome
With all respect to you doing a great job with the narration, I would suggest that you get the camera operator to concentrate on filming the cars rather than filming you instead of the vehicles. I really wanted to look at them, but sadly…….🙄
Thanks for the feedback - we’ll take that on board.
Instead of showing us the cars the camera operator show us the person talking , what a waist.
We can only blame covid and the wife’s cooking for the waist, however the film seems to have gone down well with many positive reviews.
@@MKSportscarsofficialIKR…I was going to make a smarta55 comment about your belt buckle. 😅😅😅 Ahh, the English language and how frustrating it must be for ESL speaker/writers.
Cheers! 🖖😎👍
Agreed, sh*t camera man
Why would you want to see someone talking about a car, instead of the actual car, at a car show! Numpty….
@@samsonian some of us have our own language, we are not the lap dogs that you are , the message was in your so called world butt licking language, English the language of the cowards of the Anglo Boer war that was fighting woman and children when the British 450 000 highly trained British English speaking soldiers asses got kicked by a mere 46 000 Boers , ordinary farmers, I see it still hurts by your idiotic comments , shame , glad you got the message and understand the comment I made no matter about the spelling .
I owned LBJ 274. Is it still out there? Really enjoyed this video. Well done.
What's the point if going through it so fast can't see anything properly
Sorry. We’re trying
Amazing how total anachronisms (Lotus 7, AC, GT40, Morgan) just refuse to die! Long may they do so.
Because they’re iconic shapes
Camera on the cars please instead of the presenter. We know what he looks like:)
Yep, point taken, thank you for your feedback - we need this to get better 👍🏻
Thanks for the walkaround. Wanted to come but re-building the midas came first :(
Next time!
the camera spends more time on him than on the cars, hey?
We’re at Newark show next weekend so it’s our opportunity to do what you e asked
... Recommended anti-corrosive chassis coatings/paint ?. What's Westfield doing with the GTM Libras ?.
AFAIK Westfield have this project on hold - I’ve not seen anything In Magazine or publications about it. Give them an email, prob worth a try.
We powder coat our chassis 👍🏻
@@MKSportscarsofficial .. Many thanks !
Maybe for other people is a stupid question, but can you register and legally drive this kit cars across Europe? Let’s say Italy or France?
It’s difficult at the moment but we are building a car which will have a COC and will be compliant in Europe….
It’s a 2.0 engine and will be available mid 2024, factory build only
Didn't see any Ford Escorts MK 1, and 2. Wondered if they qualify as kit cars. Given you can buy all the bits to build a new one - though not badged as a Ford Escort. MST company in Wales do them as MST Mk1 , or Mk 2. On new registrations. They can supply ready assembled body shells. But you can do all the rest. And fit BDA / Pinto etc; or modern offerings like Duratec, and Millington.
I’d like to see them - I have a bit of a soft spot for them like the rest of the 40/50 yr olds 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Hopefully it’ll get better next year. There was a lack of manufacturers and suppliers in my opinion. I was the only MK on the outside stand for three hours on the Saturday which was a shame.
We need more people to come to these shows and join the banter. You’ve not just got a car, there’s a community of like minded individuals who want to speak about their hobby and we need more people there. Hopefully bigger numbers at Newark.
Do they still display kit car E-Types at kit car shows?. I'm talking of the JPR Wildcat (there were two replica E-Types, the Challenger and Wildcat). They only made around 150 of them, sadly quite a few of them have ended up being off road and untaxed and sold as resto projects. The Wildcat Club sadly went into decline due to the passing of the club secretary and there wasn't enough input from the club so they stopped producing their club magazine, this was a few years ago now so it could've been revived since then. Although not quite a perfect replica like the Challenger it was more affordable, most of the kits have Ford engines in them, one or two have been modified into lightweight or low drag versions. My dad owned a Wildcat, it originally came with a 2 litre Pinto but the engine was knackered so he put in a 3 litre Essex from a Reliant Scimitar he was scrapping.
We don’t tend to see this marque of vehicle anymore, but sounds like you’ve had quite a journey.
People tend to gravitate to the cobra or GT40 iconic cars.
We have a D type jag replica in the wings… look on our website for the Phoenix.
Neil
@@MKSportscarsofficial Thanks anyway. It's ashame they aren't displayed much at kit car shows, no idea why that is, maybe due to there being not many owners and kits made. I know they used to be shown at Stoneleigh together with the Challenger. The Cobra replica's seem to be the main attraction and appeal, must be hundreds of replica Cobra's. I've never heard of that particular D Type kit before, though I know about the Realm D-Type and Proteus (which are very expensive), I do believe the Cheshire Sportscars in Flint once made a D-Type kit car (the name of it escapes me) but I think they didn't make many of them. Interesting to see Morgan kit cars in that video, I know there were kit cars made of them.
Are any of the self-build kits available for Australia?
We can deliver a kit anywhere on the planet 🌎
I have details of a GCS Hawke part built that was actually for sale in Sydney 3 months ago.
How about less of the presenter and more of the cars. The camera work is terrible.
This seems to be the trend from the comments. Point taken and we will take this on board.
Thank you for providing the feedback - normally people just moan and don’t actually bother to feed back, so we can’t get better at what we do.
Thanks Neil
@@MKSportscarsofficial Get a steady cam device, I got dizzy watching this
Are there any kits cars that don’t look like a 7
GT 40, Cobra, a fair few of them yes
Great show if you wanted a seven replica or cobra.
There really was an eclectic mix of cars in the car park.
AWESOME!
Thank you - make sure to tune in as we have another show in 2 weeks time.
@@MKSportscarsofficial Great! More bits and bobs to delight the senses. What will I see, and could it possibly spark memory? The anticipation will be killing me, til then. TTFN.
@@MKSportscarsofficial I'd like to cheer you Brits spirits up. When it rains, instead of saying it's pissing down, say the sky is crying tears. What you say IS the reality you feel.
@@markjaycox8811 - who knows, you’ll just need to tune in and see what we can do
@@MKSportscarsofficial You know what? The people commenting here gave me a vision I never had before. I was thinking about asking you about the Saab Sonnet, if that was considered a kit car, and being 70, and not wanting to ever try to get into a Sonnet, I thought about man sizing a pedal car, short, tall, easy to get in and out, and powered by a V-Twin in the back seat. You got my juices flowing alright- great crowd great crowd- signed rodney dangerfield
My favourite kit car was the marlin cabrio.
It is a 7 silhouette?
20 minutes of talk and 20 seconds of kit cars.
Oh come on, did you want a film with cheesy music and poor cut always showing cars and not our global mega star leading you round the event?
@@MKSportscarsofficial I got neither.
Ouch - tough crowd
Yep, had to shut it down.
@@MKSportscarsofficialno matter how cocky you are, your video was unwatchable. Absolutely terrible.
My dad owns the scamps club!
Why not show the cars a bit more instead of predominantly the presenter and him talking to people?
We’ve taken your comments on board for the Newark Kit Car Show… How did we do?
ua-cam.com/video/5vQ26b33d2Y/v-deo.html
I would sack the camera operator, they are fixated on the presenter and forgets to show the products. Don't hold your breath for Spielberg calling. 😊
Sorry, we’ve taken these comments on board for the Newark kit car show film. How did we do?
ua-cam.com/video/5vQ26b33d2Y/v-deo.html
I liked the video but pronounce Malvern correctly, thank you.
Sorry, that’s the Essex accent
Is it possible to build and plate these in the USA?
Absolutely yes!
Drop us an email mail@mksportscars.com and we can discuss
They are very nice cars, but I have one point: why didn't all those incredible constructors, in general, develop the aerodynamics of the cars? I hope the aero will have much more attention in the future.
:49 seconds, is that rear wheel drive, if so, what transmission was used?
Yes it’s RWD - the engine is from a Honda CIVIC Type R and the transmission is a Mazda MX-5 / Miata mk2 using an adapter plate and extended flywheel.
230bhp out the box. We are working with a company developing some cams to take it to about 280bhp. It’s a fast car!
Malvern, PA? or?...
Malvern Worcestershire UK
haha I can't beleive he's not aware of VEIL SIDE
How come no one is building a TVR griffith, make a lot of other kind of cars as kit cars ( gt40s,cobras,, caterhams,, etc
Glad i didn't go, just row after row of upholstered tea trolleys!!
Oh that’s a shame. These are peoples pride and joy - you know that right?
one of the mazda rx5s
Maybe next time you could show us the cars
I'm surprised there is no Exocet kit cars on show.
No Knobbly replica??? Why is that?
What’s one of those?
damn i would love build a kit car and drive it. But switzerland doesnt like that...
Investigation needed your end. I’m sure it’s possible….. somehow. Let me know what you find. Neil
Same in France. 😢
Less mug more motors please.
Did you watch our Newark video? Like this?
ua-cam.com/video/5vQ26b33d2Y/v-deo.htmlsi=bWgDvd-k_H6X5rmQ
Is a kit car the British equivalent of a hot rod?
Yes indeed, they’re hand built cars in your garage now from a manufacturer with a boom on how to assemble it.
@@MKSportscarsofficial I wish those Cobra replicas were gassers or even had the Mooneyes treatment.
What do you mean gassers and mooneyes?
Harry Enfield.
Only meeeee
so if you want a 7 or a 40 your ok
How come you missed MEV out ?
They had stopped for a pitstop when we went outside
As a suggestion, and I grew up in London, but even I needed to put on subtitles to get every word. Partly of course the video sound misses bits, but a lot of what you said e.g., the word 'magazines', was completely almost skipped over. International audiences who will enjoy your video are really going to struggle to follow the narration.
Fair point, I’ll try and see if I can turn this on?
I really like this video , but , I want to look at the car , not his head . I don't mean bad , but the car are more interesting .
You should check out the 2024 video
Do they call Malvern MALLvern, UGG.
😂
Please let’s see more cars less your face ! Bit more of a wider angle lens would be nice, again more cars 😃
We’ve just been to the Newark show.
How did we do?
ua-cam.com/video/5vQ26b33d2Y/v-deo.html
Why do we need to see him talk..we want to see cars not old gassers waffling on!
We’ve taken your comments on board - watch our Newark show film ua-cam.com/video/5vQ26b33d2Y/v-deo.html
Where the MR2 Ferrari at.....
I think they were next to Lambo’s.
It’s a shame we missed the beach buggies though
boring. we want to see CARS.
Sorry, we’ll take these comments on board and hopefully do better next time.
What is the piont in all these 7 look alike things easy to make but worthless
This is what we make so figured our audience would prefer to see these types of cars. Evidently not, so we’ll do better at Newark.
Don't care for his style of car.
Ouch 🤕
This a show of a person walking around at a car show... To much of HIM than the actual cars !!!!
We’ve just been to the Malvern kit car show - let us know what you think of this film…..
