There's a video on 1320 videos of basically exactly that setup street racing in Texas I think. You should check it out, the thing even beats liter bikes IIRC. Stupid fast
Man, I was all excited when the local motors portion of the video only to be disappointed when u said the project was canceled. Some things are just too good to be true!
This was another great video, it also really makes me want to build one of these! I have really enjoyed Exo cars since i saw the ATOM with the turbo Honda engine!
The 250 hp was pretty unimpressive? It's only unimpressive because 250 hp isn't much by todays standards. Back when it came out, 250 hp in a small coup wasn't something to scoff at. The Cobalt SS was the fastest car in its price range, especially once it was offered with the Turbo. It was actually faster than many cars that cost more. It actually held the record for fastest FWD car around the Nurburgring for several years. Also, the Cobalt SS was one of the first affordable production cars to come standard with a launch control, something that at the time was mainly only seen in much more expensive vehicles.
I love the DF but the Cobalt platform is too old. How many SS doners are actually out there, preferably one with a turbo? I think Chevy sold like 8 of them.
yes but these are almost illegal so the are crappiest one that you can drive on the road caterham ariel and xbow are top of the line in this category so they arent on this list
My problem with these are the price, save for the Goblin. My problem with the Goblin is the motor. Bare bones should equate in price too. I'm not asking much, they are. $50-$60k is too much for a nothing there car.
original motor had 350hp per ton not 350hp. v8 had 400hp and had about 467hp/ton because car weighted under ton with it in the car. so it gained 117 horsepower and weight under 860kg thats still a light car.
Aluminum chevy v8s are pretty light compared to turbo inline 4s. Also the power and torque is far more usable at all times and the prices to maintain are dirt cheap. It makes sense. More than you think
5:30 - The 2.0L from the Cobalt also had a factory warranted (*If installed by GM technicians) upgrade kit that bumped power to 290hp and 340ft/lb.
This channel is VERY underrated !!! 👍🤛💪
Imagine the Goblin with a Turbocharged, Honda, K24 running 600hp! Now THAT'S my kinda power!
yeah right into a ditch.. lolol.. even with the 260 its easy as hell to drift the car

No. Then it's no longer an American Exo.
you had me at, "barely legal"
These are some real Florida Man cars 😅
That's what JOE BIDEN said
If the second one never made it to production why is it in this video?
Views.
Always love the content you're putting out. Another great video 👍
Thanks!

Very good video, fun to watch!
Any idea what windshield they used? I'm sure it's from another OEM car but which one?
Good vid. Well done
Glad you enjoyed it!
U missed the
EXOMIATA
6:17 got me dying 😂

the cobalt ss wasnt just turbo charged.... it has three versions, 2.2 na, 2.0 turbo and a 2.0 supercharged which the 2.0 supercharged is 200hp
Great video
Can any of these be registered in California?
Power to weight ratio has been the name of the game forever.
Ah yes, the engines that happen to come with a car

I watched this because I was waiting to hear about the Exomotive Exocet….
1:59 what kind of plane is that, i never seen that befrore
Are Ariel Atom and KTM Xbow not considered Exo cars?
yes but these are almost illegal so the are crappiest one that you can drive on the road caterham ariel and xbow are top of the line in this category so they arent on this list
can i get the car in the thumbnail?
Those examples seem woefully under powered compared to the Ariel Atom V8, which has over 900 bop per tonne.
Love that shark nose kit car.✌🏻🇮🇹
How did you miss the fact that Local Motors is out of business and was almost a year before this video was uploaded?
Why would you include the Street Fighter if you no one can have one? I mean shit, UFOs are even better. Feature that.
miss my diecast rallyfighter
None of these really compare to the Ariel Atom. Nearly the same power as the Deronda and a LOT more than the Goblin.

Deronda is d best😊😊😊
What's the point in showing cars that never made it to production
Pounds is a unit of currency. Please get into the 21st century and use the metric system
We won two world wars, deal with it
When it came to America the first thing we did was use the American philosophy. Really lightweight chassis big f****** engine😂
lightweight cars.....US guys put a heavy V8 in it with just 50 hp more..seems that they cant understand chapmans philosophy
