This can become quite an in-depth discussion haha. To keep it short, It really depends what your budget is and also if you’re buying on ground floor or secondary prices yourself. Historically your average ‘whisky investor’ has done quite well with ‘limited editions’ and discontinued stuff from Macallan, Suntory, and in more recent years Springbank. Examples such as the Editions and to an extent Concept releases from Macallan, almost any limited release or discontinued Yamazaki and Hibiki has jumped.
Depending on the vintage the 18yo sherry should be dearer. If its a newer bottling of the sherry i would say that the rare cask is better. Easy decision. I compared an 18yo sherry Mac vs Glendronach 18 side by side just over 2 years ago and the GD was miles better. If its an older 18yo macallan from 90s vintage you should buy them all as theyre quite good and getting up there in price now. Hope that helps
Je viens d'acheter ici en belgique l'édition 2021 pour 300€. Je vais l'ouvrir le 31 décembre. J'ai hâte de le goûter ! 😊
I hope you enjoy it
I watched this before picking it. Nice one
Thanks for watching. Hope you enjoy your purchase! 🥃
Just went in on a bottle of this. Very excited to try it based off your review.
Hope you enjoy it Matt. Let me know your thoughts once you open it
What's the best whisky to invest in in your opinion for a long term return?

Is it worth buying, sticking it in a cupboard for 20 years and then selling it to someone with more money than sense?
I don’t think it’d be worth your while. The editions would be a better option for that
How do you think it compares with the 18 sherry oak? In my area they are at a similar price point.

Box is huge. Fitting for the whisky though imo. Was a good one 👌
