  • Why did I choose LS over John Deere, Kubota, Mahindra, Kioti, New Holland, and Rural King tractors? This week I go over what I like about my LS XR 4040 tractor after 2 years and 100 hours. I use this compact tractor for all kinds of things around our 50 acre farm in eastern Ohio.
    Join us as we restore our 100 year old farmhouse in south eastern Ohio.Watch as we cut firewood, run my LS tractor, plant food plots and gardens,hunt,(and hopefully soon) raise our own livestock!!

    I own my LS xj2025h tractor for 3 years going on 4. I have had no complaints on this rig,and I am here to tell you,I work this Lil machine hard, it's has done everything I have asked from it and more. I love this little guy. I would definitely recommend this tractor for the home owner. When the time comes, I would buy another ls tractor in a heartbeat!!!

    My LS 55hp HST tractor with cab, backup camera, 3 point snowblower, front bucket with added grapple and quick connect bale spear comes to my House Monday, I am so stoked, I told the wife already if she can't get a hold of me after Monday just look for the tractor because weather you like it or not we are going to be polyamorous and the tractor is my Poly!

    I made a similar video about my XR4145C. You only really hear the negative about the lemons. It's always nice to see real owners talk about the things they love about the LS line of tractors. It really does hold up to the more mainstream lines. My dealer has been hit or miss, but mostly hit. No complaints about them whatsoever. Good Video! Love it. Two thumbs up!

    Just want to say thank you. After seeing some of those other videos, I was staying away from LS. The things you said about the other's problems made sense and the fact you still love yours after 2yrs made me rethink it. I ended up getting the LS 3035HC mostly because it's a lot more tractor for less money than the JDs I was looking at. I've only had it a few months, but I love it so far and have no regrets. I found an amazing dealer who came out to my house and fixed a bone-head mistake I made and even gave me a discount. I'm glad your video was here to help me make that decision.

    I am sure glad for you that your dealer is taking care of you. I made the mistake of buying from Wright Tractor in Oklahoma City. We haven't had any major issues with our LS XU6158C. But they have flat out lied to us a couple times so far on just providing what they said they would provide in our deal with them. We live in New Mexico. They offered a great deal on a demo. That was the only good part. The delivery guy tried to get more money. Then, We couldn't put delivery in the deal because Cecil from Wright Tractor said he forgot to put it in the financing. That was cash out of pocket we had to pay, and being retired, that hurt. Then, the Cecilsaid he would give us our first filters. He said he sent them, we never got them. Then, a wiper fluid tank rotted away. He said he would replace it, no problem. Never got it. Now he doesn't answer any emails. We are hugely worried that if we ever need warranty work done, they will do the same. I want to sell it now, just because of the crappy lying from our dealer. The tractor has been a life savor due to our snow issues. We just pray it doesn't break.

    good honest review . My boomer 41 LS Newholland is almost same tractor other than the loader . The regen is great too . Very quiet clean tractor and never goes into limp mode . Just keep working it while regen is on . This tractor just keeps amazing me what it can lift and traction also in worst conditions . Potential tractor purchasers should take the time too test drive one and check out the features for the dollar . They will be pleasantly surprised 👍

    I have owned a XG3025 for 2 yrs now. I bought the tractor new after Hurricane Michael in 2018, at Masters Farm Supply in Altha, FL. The tractor has been amazing and is capable of lifting more than it is rated for. I currently have 320+ hours on it with no problems. I use a grapple, bucket, box blade, landscape rake, hay spear, and a 9" auger. I only wish I had bought the grapple earlier, that thing is amazing. My dealer is great and always treats me well. They delivered my tractor to the house free of charge, about an hour away. I would most definitely purchase another LS tractor. Mine does not have the regen, or DEF, which was one of the reasons I went with the 25 hp. It is plenty strong for my use, I have 8 acres, 1 acre is wooded and I am working on clearing it myself with the LS tractor.

    Good video, thanks for sharing. I have a 2018 LS xg3025 thats been awesome. Had a small bx kobota for 20 years and it was a good machine. Needed bigger and LS was about $4000 less than an equivalent kobota. Running a 7' snow plow up front with a 7' rear grader blade. Would absolutely buy LS again.

Deere came with two rear remotes, course i had to pay extra. You got alot of bells and whistles that came standard. Thats a lot of value. If i ever trade up i would definitely consider a LS tractor. I've had my LS for a year now and have almost 200 hours on it with no issues. From many of the vids I've seen, I've been fortunate to have excellent dealer support. I was a little nervous about buying an LS because of a few negative vids. But most of those were 2 or 3 years old and my dealers explained what LS had done to correct those issues. As for the tractor, I'd wanted a New Holland Boomer for several years, then discovered LS makes that line for New Holland. There are some minor cosmetic differences but LS's price tag was over $8000 cheaper, without sacrificing quality. I've had no issues and no regrets about chosing LS.

      From my experience, LS is well worth your consideration. I found them to be heavier built, with more standard features that other brands listed as options. Mine has been unbelievably tough and amazingly comfortable for a more reasonable price. But do make sure you have good dealer support with whatever brand you choose. It is well worth the peace of mind. I've heard LS is good about backing their brand even when a dealer falls short. But I've not had to test that myself.

  • @chrism2042

    I had a New Holland for many years, never an issue and I used it hard. A Couple years ago I wanted a new cab tractor and was looking at Kubota, until I got a price! I got a LS XR4145 cab, hydro trans, backhoe, 3rd function with 4-in-1 bucket and grapple. Not including the grapple cost, the same size Kubota cab, hydro trans, backhoe with added 3rd function and same 4-1 bucket was $22k higher than the LS. To make it worse, attaching/detaching the backhoe on the Kubota is ridiculous having to remove the 3-point parts, the LS takes minutes. I can attach the backhoe in approx 5 minutes and detach in 3 minutes alone.
    Not a lot of reviews on the LS when I was getting mine a couple years ago but I figured with LS building the compact tractors for New Holland, I would take the chance. Plus the dealer I purchased my commercial zero turn from is a LS dealer, they are one of the few businesses around that value their customers. The local Kubota dealer acted like they just wanted me to leave when I asked questions about the tractor options and add-ons, that helped turn me away from Kubota with that being the local dealer and feeling like their customer service would suck. I use the LS for some brush cutting but mostly tree work, I use it hard and push it to it's limits with the loader. Mine just hit 100 hrs last weekend, has been flawless. Only done a regen 2 times, every 50 hours. I run on-road fuel with Diesel Kleen with every fill-up. I wouldn't hesitate buying another LS tractor.
    FYI - With you thinking about getting a backhoe, I leave mine on when doing loader work. It is a great counter weight and prevents keeping weight to the 3-point.

      I own a 60" Brush Hog, and a 60" Woods finish mower. Both are top of the line mowers but after I got the flail mower (this spring 2019) I didn't have any need for the others, It will mow grass beautifully, then head over to the 6' sorgum and mulch that right down. A disc isn't needed. The flail mower that I have is a 78" Woodmaxx but there a million of the out there, I can only speak for the one I have. Thinking about a MT5. Had a JD and loved it, but it was small even for the small acreage I had at the time. I looked pretty hard at the LS when I bought the JD, but the clearance was pretty bad and I wanted to drive over the rocks rather than flip and pull them out. Which is pretty much all I had, I lived on a hill in extraordinarily rocky terrain. Moving to 20 times the acres and with actual dirt on the ground! With all my research it's looking like my choices are (for new tractors) Kubota for 70-80k or an LS for 50-60k That's not much of a choice.
    But it's all about the customer service. Dealers seem to be either ridiculously good or laughably bad. Feel like I should need to vet my dealership which feels bad.

      Absolutely do your research on your dealer. A good dealer will make or break you. I don't know where you're located but dealer is great! Mendenhall Farm in Dennison, Ohio

      @Mallard 5 Farmhouse Yeah, I checked with the dealer local to my move. They seem really customer oriented and friendly, but they're an incredibly small operation and appear to be focused on lawnmowers, subcompacts, and chainsaws.
      Not sure if they'll be able to handle serious service work or the big aftermarket parts I want, though I'm willing to give them a shot if they vet out ok. The last dealer I had was pretty good when I needed them, but also kind of dropped me off 2 tons of heavy machinery and told me good luck when I'd never even drove a ride on lawn mower before.
      Here's hoping it all goes well.

    • @Mallard5plus1Farmhouse
      @Mallard5plus1Farmhouse  2 роки тому +1

      Yes my dealer has had to focus more on chainsaws and lawnmowers as well. It's because of the supply and demand issue. These small dealers for the past couple years haven't been able to get enough LS Tractors in to them. My dealer has at least 5 tractors that are ordered and paid for but he's still waiting for them to show up. So to make up for the lost tractor sales, these small dealers are looking for other equipment to sell just to stay in business. I'd say you have a hard working honest dealer just like mine.

    The problem i've noticed propping up on the cheaper tractors, especially the chines ones is that they have trouble starting especially in cold weather. I own a Jinma tractor myself and it's a right pain to start even with preheating it. Whereas my Massey Ferguson 65 starts every damn time without preheating, no matter how cold it is.
    So i guess my question is, how does it start? do you have to preheat always or more or less never?

    • @Mallard5plus1Farmhouse

      Hey Jesper thanks for the comment! I can honestly say I have never had any trouble starting up in the cold. Not this winter but last winter was super cold here in Ohio and I was really impressed with how easy it started up. Keep in mind I store it in my garage (not heated). Thanks for watching man!

    • @Mallard5plus1Farmhouse
      @Mallard5plus1Farmhouse  3 роки тому

      No that's not a dumb question at all.. but it is a very hard one to answer lol..the thing with these new tractors with the dpf filter on them, the dealers tell you to run them wide open as much as you can. Therefore you are using more fuel. So I can't give you exact numbers right now but it does depend on what you're doing and how hard you're running it. I know when I've been brush hogging I haven't been impressed with how much fuel I've used. I hope this helps man
