Short answer yes it's a lemon. 2nd answer from experience as a tech for over 40 years is they have incompetent techs working on the tractor. There is no excuse for this problem to go on for a year. 3rd answer it is a wiring problem or the ECM itself. Intermittent failures are often ECM related or a bad connection in the wiring harness. Danny you have the patience of Job!! Take care and I hope you get it fixed soon or they replace it..
I’ve already done my research and heard horrible stories about LS, the tractor and terrible service. I passed on the LS and NH. I purchased a Kubota and I appreciate channels like yours for my success!
I was looking at ls but after watching your videos I went and bought a Kabota. I love my Kabota. As far as I am concerned you saved my bacon. Thank you
When life gives you “lemons” make lemonade *pun intended*. I know when my daddy isn’t happy...and this folks is him not happy but I will say that I am proud of the way he is handling it in a very classy manner. I will be praying that LS make this right with whatever decision they decide to make. Love you!!
He has been through enough with this tractor. My Uncle had a car like that.He finally put posterboards with lemons painted on them on the doors and the dealership gave him his money back.I wasn't good advertisement
Thanks for the great video as it has made me more confident in my decision to stick with Yanmar and Kubota for my needs. A wise man once told me "Good things aren't cheap and cheap things aren't good."
I'm sorry you are having this trouble Danny. You are doing the right thing by documenting everything and being patient. I'm afraid your getting close to the point of hiring an attorney. Keep on top of this and demand a resolution, don't let this get pushed to the back burner. I bought a L3830HST Kubota in June of 2006, it currently has 750 hrs and has required no repairs, it even has the original battery. I do all the maintenance on it and take care of my equipment and it has taken care of me. Once again, sorry that you and Wanda have to go through this worry and stress. I hope it's resolved soon.
@Howard Adderly Now I believe it! There's just too many people saying the same thing! The old ones, that are still in decent shape, are getting hard to find as well!
It's not the emissions and computers - it's the "we need to sell parts and service" mentality manufacturers have now. Back in the day, you made a tractors that would entice a customer to buy another later, because the tractor made its keep, the customer would buy another. Failed obsolesense is the business strategy now, with transmissions made of crap steel or worse, bucket, front end, suspension, you name it - made, or engineered really, to fail early. I remember looking at craigslist for a couple of months and seeing all these cheap tractors, with blown trannies, and realizing it's the current game, and dont buy one, make them change their game, or go out of business.
I also have a XR3135 and like you I really like the tractor and it does everything I need it to when it is running.I had the dealer I bought the tractor from go under shortly after I purchased the tractor. When I needed it worked on by the dealer, I had to go north about 75 miles 1way because the dealer in Petersburg will not work on a tractor they didn't sell. Seems like they should work on any tractor, especially if it is still under warranty because they are supposed to be a legitimate dealer. The second time, I was told it had the same problem. By this time I had owned the tractor about 3 years and out of those 4 years it had been broken at least 1 of those years while trying to find someone to work on it and being in the shop. The dealer in Fredericksburg finally took it in to be worked on, and this time, they kept my tractor for a while and did several things to it like they didn't know what to do to fix it so they were trying everything. I got the tractor back and it ran about a month before dieing yet again. By this time the dealer in Fredericksburg had stopped being a dealer and I would have to take it to another state. I am so frustrated at this point I just put the tractor issue to the side and had to take a break from it. At this point, because of inability to find someone to work on it to figuring out how to get it to them to just sitting at the dealers my warranty was up. A new dealer opened 30 or so miles away from me and I had a tractor that was over 5 years old that had less than 100 hours on it because it wouldn't run long enough to cut the grass. I contacted the dealer and set it up to bring it in to be looked at. After seveal months in the shop I get a call that the wiring harness was bad and so was the injection pump. When someone was testing the wiring harness had messed up the plug for the pump. The tractor also had water and dirt in the fuel which I didn't understand because other than being at the dealer I was the only one to fuel it other than the dealer in Fredericksburg. I bought 2 new 5 gallon diesel cans when I got the tractor because I didnt own anything that ran on diesel. As a matter of fact to this day I have both cans and they are clean inside and out. The crude in the fuel had ruined the pump so since so much time had passed trying to get it fixed it was no longer on warranty. After about a $4000 dollar repair bill which would have been more had the dealer not repaired the wiring harness I got my tractor back. The tractor has run like it was supposed to until last week. The suspect is the turbocharger but I can't take it to be looked at because my dealer is a1man show and is on a well deserved vacation. Bottom line is the Tractor is a good machine that has design issues. Don't let anyone work on your equipment unless you are sure they don't just have the jobbut also has the education to back it up. Having a good reputable dealer is very, very important. Use the tractor as much and hard within reason while it is still under warranty. I could have easily bougt a different color tractor for what I will have in this tractor after this next repair
I have been looking at that exact tractor,I very so bad for you and these problems with the tractor!!! Thanks for these information video's,I will not be buying this brand of tractor now!!! I'm on a budget have worked hard for my retirement and will not throw it away on a bad product. I pray your issues will be resolved.
I've been waiting for this update, so sorry you're having to deal with these issues. I'd say yes it's a lemon, they should taken this tractor back an give you a new one.
Looks like a nice Tractor. Too bad its giving you a lot of problems.I was thinking of buying one, but now your giving me second thoughts on it. Thanks for pointing out the problems!!!!!!!
Thank you, I'm so glad I found this. I'm in the market to buy and I know I will not buy this tractor. I'm a single girl and I can't have this many problems. I'm sorry you had all this trouble.
I remember when you filmed the leaking ! Yes it’s a lemon- you love it , but what good is it if it doesn’t work half the time. ? I think they should have replaced it a while back with a new one!!
I did a lot of research before i picked my kubota. Thanks to videos like this i learned about regen ahead of time. Thanks for the heads up. I hate that you had this headache.
Bought a 1972 David Brown 885 with 7000+ hours, 3 years ago for $2000 and not one single problem with it. Technology is a wonderful thing. I hope you can get everything fixed. Best wishes
That sucks you're having difficulties with your LS. I have one that I purchased new in the fall of '17. It's been a great tractor! I work it fairly hard with no issues. I even have a couple videos doing such. Good luck and I hope they make it right with you!
I have not yet watched your subsequent videos, but I will when I have the time. I will tell you that you are infinitely more patient than I. There is nothing more frustrating than having a job to do (with your tractor), and a malfunction continually interrupts your work schedule, particularly when you have done your due diligence in maintenance. If this were an automobile the lemon laws would have required a manufacturer's buyback after they picked it up the third time - and you certainly shouldn't be on the hook for the transportation expense. I look forward to how this plays out, and hopefully the dealer and manufacturer will do right by you.
My brother inlaw purchased an LS Tractor roughly 4 years ago. And at the time I was in the market for purchasing a compact tractor myself. Well after witnessing all the different issues he's had. I decided to go with a Mahindra. I have owned the Mahindra 2555 Almost 3 years and still love it. Its been a pretty darn good piece of machinery.
Thanks danny for beaning so truthful about your tractor I'll keep my 50 year old tractor and just keep tipping oil in it which only costs about $200 dollars a year and it do not stop and no computer
I have a 4 month old (97 HRS) LS XR4140. No problems yet.....fingers crossed! Its been a great tractor so far....2 neighbors with LS tractors....no issues. I done a lot of research on tractor forums before buying LS.
Both the MT1 and XJ are mechanical diesels. No electronics! This is only because they are under 25HP. The electronics systems are due to EPA regulations.
You have more patience than I. This tractor has been and still is a lemon. If they can fix it fine, they can keep it. Time to look for one that's dependable. Sorry you are being treated this way. As a good customer with proven patience you have been mis-treated. Same on them!
You should not have to pay them anything, it's their problem. They are making more money with it breaking down, STOP PAYING when they take it for repairs and get your money back. You didn't break it, it's a LEMON. Love your channel.
Been looking for a new tractor for the last few week and seen an add for this manufacturer on TV. I have never heard of LS Tractors and the price points seemed great, so I figured I'd hop on UA-cam and find out more. From the sound of things from this video, LS has a lot more work to do to produce a reliable tractor... Thank you for video... I'll keep looking at more established brands
About 6 months ago, we bought a Kubota B2650. So far, no problems with it! Hope you can get your issues resolved or return the tractor. Not much is worse than a tool that won't do the job it was designed and intended for.
You are more patient than I would be after that many issues. New tractors ain't cheep in price, but apparently they are cheep in quality. After the 2nd. time I would have said " I'm done" either give me a new tractor or we will have a law suit on our hands. Tractors today have all the bells and whistles but are not user friendly to fix. My tractor may not have all the amenities, but I can at least workout it. I will keep my old Massey Ferguson. Good luck.
Thank you Danny for informing us about this tractor. Sorry y'all are going through this. Maybe if other people would have got the word out about all the problems with these tractors it would have saved y'all a lot of trouble. Just my personal opinion, but all the modern day computers & technology just doesn't mix well with the dust and dirt that you get with farming. I think the older ways & equipment just works better, or at least it's more reliable. We have an old 8N tractor, yes it need a good over haul at the moment. But the older tractors take a beating and keep on going. I could not imagine trying to put up hay with all the dust and grime that comes with it with a computerized piece of equipment. We live in the middle of a 5 mile stretch of gravel road and it reeks havoc with our auto mobiles and they're computers. Paul & I can't wait to see y'all next week.
This falls under the lemon law. 3 repairs in one year is the qualifier for anything with a warranty. That thing is junk or your service center is highly unqualified. Might be a combination of the two. Send it back and get a new one. Good luck buddy.
Sorry you’re still having troubles. We have my husbands grandpas old Deere. It’s like 30+ years old and outside of basic maintenance and replacing the tires once, we haven’t had any problems. We will keep it as long as possible. Nothin runs like a 🦌
sorry for your trouble....its called a lemon. I went back to a 1994 orange tractor and have had it 8yrs and never had a bit of trouble until this yr.....seems the tires are getting old ..lol i mean hey they are only 25 yrs old
Had a ls dealership in my town lasted two year tractors coming back all the time it closed it's doors last year you can get better tractor for your money an service good luck with your problem
I noticed in your video and I thought you might want to know but your Kelly-Jinkson Valve Trigger Lever is dangling off the Taffery & Johnson Linkage. You might want to get that looked at. Also don't forget to check the fluid in your turn signal, especially the left turn signal on this specifice blue model of tractor.
IF IT DOESN'T WORK FOR YOU.. THEN .. IT IS NOT WHAT YOU NEED..BECAUSE YOU NEED ONE THAT WORKS...IT SHOULD BE YELLOW. IF ITS UNDER WARRANTY, TELL THEM YOU WANT A ONE NEW, TO REPLACE IT...I NEVER OWNED A TRACTOR.. BUT IF I HAD ONE LIKE THAT ONE...IT'D BE GOING BACK IN HEARTBEAT...
The problem is the new Tier emission control system with DPF filter-computer system. I had a Kubota L3301 that after a year of "use" with the same problems you are experiencing, I couldn't stand it any longer and got rid of it. Traded it on a Mahindra 1538 which doesn't use that system---problem solved. I now have a tractor I can use with no problems!
Wow, you are a far more patient man than I. I'd have had the CEO of LS or it's parent company, on the phone by now and torn him a new one. Make them replace it with a new one and refund all costs you've incurred.
So far what you have explained , has told me to get a Kubota, I have buddy;s that have them and they are brutes, if I were you I would put that LS back in the dealer where the sun dont shine before the lemon law expires and get a Kubota. good luck and thanks for posting.
We have a 2017 Kubota with no problems whatsoever. He had an older Kubota that was 20 years old that only give a few problems as it got older. Give it back and get a Kubota.
They all have lemons and bad models. My father recently had a kabota that the hydrostatic transmission went out after a few hundred hours. He used other models for years in a landscaping company without major issues.
I had a 2012 3039 that gave me nothing but trouble. It had engine cradle cracking issues and PTO problems. More problems than its worth. I'm back to kabota.
Hi Danny I have seen your videos it’s crazy all the problems your having with your tractor I’m just waiting to see what the problem is that finally fixes the tractor because I am having almost the same problems I only have 50hrs on my XG3135H it’s a 2017 I’m sure main will be in the shop soon I hope your tractor problem is resolved soon
CASE or Ford New Holland. Never heard of that LS brand. I wish you all the luck with getting it right. They play a main part in a lot of farmers / gardeners lives.
Danny got the same tractor same year and around the same time, as with you it is perfect for what i needed. But i have had nothing but problems from the electrical issues, front wheel seals 4 times, 9 exhausts, seat brackets brake (bad welds)all hydraulic seals leak and now high/low shifter stuck in high. And ls's response well its a poor design and you know things just break. Well my 53 8n has never been in the shop and ls mechanic said they arent building them like that anymore. Dont buy an ls period jd said they would put it in their show room as to why not to buy one
One thing I learned the hard way that even when dealing with a major manufacturer it is absolutely necessary to document everything and I mean everything! Never walk out of a dealer repair shop without a very detailed invoice of work done. I had a major auto manufacturer tell me that the warranty wouldn't cover a problem because it had only been reported once. The vehicle had actually been in no less than 6 times and I was told each time it was fixed or there wasn't a problem. My vehicle was in the shop for 23 days for a single issue and that was the 3 rd time for that issue.
They owe your money back. Lemon laws cover tractors too. Ls has a well documented warranty and you should not be charged or pay for anything in repairs or pickup and delivery for at least three years. We service ls and know the warranties.
You've been so patient with that Company. I'd've blown my top way before now and demanded a replacement or a refund! It's been too long now and you'll need small (I know it's a BIG issue) but small claims court in the USA because of your 'Sue-ing' culture probably covers the cost of a Tractor, to get your money back. Thankfully you'll have paperwork to show that despite all they said they did, it didn't fix it & all the downtime those trips ate out of your warranty period. I hate that you're going to need a lawyer to get your money back but I think you will need one. I've been with you through every day since the day you got it, and you were both so excited to have the extra help, bearing in mind this is supposed to do the 'heavy lifting' that you & Wanda will need help with in the next 10 years or so, if it's unreliable since Day 1 you've got NO hope when you're in your 80's. You wouldn't have had this much trouble in a second-Hand 30 year old John Deere or Massey-Ferguson!! Danny get rid!!
Have they check the neutral safety switch under the seat. I had just about the same problem. And once they replaced it the problem went away. And it wasn't that old. And I bought it new and I have 500+ hour now. And I purchased it in 2019 about
cannot believe how patient you are i have kubota lawnmower not a tractor however grass cutting around here requires real tool kubota cut grass in any weather and packs it up like you are going to airport, this is where you find out what you are worth at dealership
Really sorry to hear you have been going through this. Jeez that's friggin horrible :( Hopefully something will come of it after enough noise is made about it.
A tractor is not helping you if it is not dependable. You are not a commercial farm, but it is more important the tractor can be counted on. I bought a LS on you recommendation, this was after your first LS, I got the next size up and have had very little trouble, it looked like I had a oil leak then it stopped. My sincere hope is LS will work for us and that they will do the right thing for you. I really vale CustomerService, I would like to be able to trust in customer relations.
I just bought an LS tractor a month ago and done my homework on who and where they are made,Ls new holland branson kioti and there are others all made by LS because LS is the parent company .and they are all made in south korea LS and new holland are the same tractor the label on back of tractor says made by LS in south korea ,L have been to a bunch of dealers and they all say the same thing ,so good luck finding a tractor made in the USA,everything under 80hp is made overseas..danny i am sorry for the trouble you have had and hope you get results soon ,just saw your post ,sounds like you are a patient man.I would have lost my cool a whole lot sooner good luck..
I was dead set on buying one of these because my wife wanted a blue tractor. I think I will look for an old Ford or New Holland. Glad I found you before tax return
The second time it broke down, I would have said don't bring it back til it's repaired correctly. I guess that's why I bought a JD each of the 2 times I bought a new one. I've had plenty of used ones and with a tractor, you expect a new one not to break down. You went the right way by switching to Kubota. I've had a couple of them and they are tough. Not a cadillac of tractors but get the job done without failures.
I have the exact same tractor, purchased new a couple months earlier than you bought yours. I have the 12x12 transmission, although that should be irrelevant regarding motor problems. I have about 120hrs in my machine. My unit had regened at 40hrs, 80hrs and I am expecting another Regen anytime now. I have had no mechanical issues. I will note that the taillight wiring seemed to cause a little light flickering. I put dielectric grease on the rear electrical sockets and it seemed to have corrected the issue. I tend to not use the foot throttle. I set the throttle at 14-1600 rpms and change speeds with the transmission. My dealer indicated that running the engine below 1400rpm may cause excessive carbon build up in the exhaust. I also run additives for lubrication and cleaner burning. My motor purrs like a kitten. You guys have got to be the most unlucky tractor people I know. You didn't mention it, but I watched your initial problems with your first ls that was leaking oil. Kubota had some major problems with the Regen technology. My one bit of advice, regardless of tractor color, buy from a good dealer. If they treat you poorly while buying it, don't expect service to be any better. Korean tractors are some of the best in the world. I hope your dealer helps you get your tractor to where it should be.
Good morning Danny and Wanda: It sounds to me as though you need a 'lemon law' down there! Here in Virginia we do have a lemon law which I think applies to tractors as well as all automobiles (and motorized vehicles). You certainly have had more than your share of problems. I hope you get satisfaction either in repairs or in a replacement tractor.
You are calm and reasonable beyond any normal expectation. I suggest returning the tractor. If the finance company gives you any grief, use the small claims court then civil court. LS has a good rep. They can give you a new tractor or take back their lemon. Always state the cost of time and loss of labor due to the machine failing to meet minimum operating statements.
Just wow they can't fix it right by now. That baby would be go in back, and they need to give you a new tractor, and upgrade you for all you all's many months of troubles, and all the monies you spent on it going back.Too many times having to send it back.Just crazy and I hope they do right by you this year.Be well you all.♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡..........
I think I could sit down drink coffee all day and listen to this man tell stories
Thanks for knocking LS off the list for possible purchase.

here in canada not many buys ls any more mostully in canada gone with reliable kubotas and case ih

Thanks sweetheart.
A daughters love for her farther is worth more than any asset so even if the tractors a lemon he's a lucky man
Hope it all gets fixed!!!!!!!!
Thanks for the great video as it has made me more confident in my decision to stick with Yanmar and Kubota for my needs. A wise man once told me "Good things aren't cheap and cheap things aren't good."

I like old school tractors, don't like computer's on a tractor!!
My tractor mechanic told me the new tractors were terrible!
@Howard Adderly Now I believe it! There's just too many people saying the same thing! The old ones, that are still in decent shape, are getting hard to find as well!
William Wallace bingo
I don't think anyone likes them, but that's what the government says they have to sell.

Lol that thing looks like a botoxed actress

first of all well done for your patience,if i was you i would return it back,
Bought a used pre-def 2014 r3039. With 500 hours on it. Have had it two years, new battery installed recently otherwise no issues in 300 hours.
Thank you Danny for the information on the tractor
Give that thing back! You’ve been more than patient with them.
Give it back. I am going through different breakdowns with my mahindra. Don't wait to long.
I have a 1948 Ford. I absolutely love it. It starts when nothing else on the farm does.
I have a 44, and love it.
Bought a 1972 David Brown 885 with 7000+ hours, 3 years ago for $2000 and not one single problem with it. Technology is a wonderful thing.
I hope you can get everything fixed.
Best wishes
after wone maybe 2 times i would have dumped it , you sir have the patience of a saint
Thank you for sharing your experience.
Bought a 864 bobcat in 2000, 19 yrs later still going strong, it does more than a tractor, and easier.
If you want to invoke the lemon law you better do it soon. There's probably a 1 year limitation.
Lemon law only protects titled vehicles. Tractors dont have titles.
Over 20 tractors on my farm and never heard of a titled tractor.
Cody Johnson this I know is a fact I asked about it when I paid it off
That sucks you're having difficulties with your LS. I have one that I purchased new in the fall of '17. It's been a great tractor! I work it fairly hard with no issues. I even have a couple videos doing such. Good luck and I hope they make it right with you!

Im sorry you are having this problem Danny.
I can! Be live your patience. Send it back.

Almost 3 years and still love it. Its been a pretty darn good piece of machinery.
I hope you get this resolved ASAP!!!! How frustrating!!! I agree you’ve been patient long enough!
I am fixing to buy the LS! And the Dealership that I am buying it from said that the one I am buying he liked the best because it has no computer!
Both the MT1 and XJ are mechanical diesels. No electronics! This is only because they are under 25HP. The electronics systems are due to EPA regulations.
Can't wait to see future videos 😁
Can't wait to see next vlogs 👍
I have the exact same tractor and nearly 200 hours it's not yet gave me any problems. I hope you get yours fixed.
You just have a lemon. I've had my XR 3135 for a year and half (139 hrs) and I've had ZERO issues.
I've shared this. - and part 2 of your saga - to my FB timeline. Hope it helps.
I went back to a 1994 orange tractor and have had it 8yrs and never had a bit of trouble until this yr.....seems the tires are getting old ..lol i mean hey they are only 25 yrs old
You are a patient man, Danny. I would have set it on fire by now LOL
Thanks this helped my decision on kubota and LS. Buying a new tractor at the end of this month.
Saw these being sold online, was curious, and this is all I'm seeing for real reviews... Won't be going this route for sure
Had a ls dealership in my town lasted two year tractors coming back all the time it closed it's doors last year you can get better tractor for your money an service good luck with your problem
it might be a lemon, but its such a pretty lemon! Good luck going forward Danny
Gravy... 🤦🏻♀️ I know what I WON’T be buying for my future homestead... Looking forward to this nightmare being over for y’all!!
Danny I hope y'all get it worked out
2 words that should never have been frankensteined together computer and tractor!
If the tractor is having constant issues then it isn't meeting the most basic need which is a dependable machine.
If you've got alot of work to be done looks like you can't depend on it. We have a 13 yr old Kabota never had issues.
So sorry you have to deal with this. On the matter of keeping it. Would you keep an employee who wouldn't' work?
I have a 40 yr old Kubota ,been looking at the Ls as a upgrade this is making me rethink that.
So far what you have explained , has told me to get a Kubota, I have buddy;s that have them and they are brutes, if I were you I would put that LS back in the dealer where the sun dont shine before the lemon law expires and get a Kubota. good luck and thanks for posting.
Yes give it back
You’ve become a very good narrator
It would have been gone the second time it went back to the dealer at 20,000 plus for the thing there is no way I would deal with that type of issues.
Sorry your still having trouble with your tractor! I know that is frustrating. We have a Mahindra and haven’t had any trouble with it.
CASE or Ford New Holland. Never heard of that LS brand. I wish you all the luck with getting it right. They play a main part in a lot of farmers / gardeners lives.
LS makes New Hollands in that size.
We had bought a John Deere that had problems and they lemoned it. It’s up to you to make it happen!!!!
My peterbilt did the same thing. Turned out to be a faulty wiring harness. Took them two yrs to figure it out.
Glad I got a 1999 Kubota M4500. No regen crap on mine.
Dpnt want to go along on that journey later.
Really sorry to hear you have been going through this. Jeez that's friggin horrible :( Hopefully something will come of it after enough noise is made about it.
Dam I was just thinking of getting the XR3135 or MT2e to..... Did you ever figure out whats going on ??
A tractor is not helping you if it is not dependable. You are not a commercial farm, but it is more important the tractor can be counted on. I bought a LS on you recommendation, this was after your first LS, I got the next size up and have had very little trouble, it looked like I had a oil leak then it stopped. My sincere hope is LS will work for us and that they will do the right thing for you. I really vale CustomerService, I would like to be able to trust in customer relations.
I can’t even imagine having to put up with that 😳
CHAR M c
Robert Palmer LS and new holland are built by the same company
Why did you get another LS when you had oil leaks and trouble out of the last one ?
I thought I might take a look at LS next time due to pricing of others. This probably cures me!
Good morning Danny and Wanda:
It sounds to me as though you need a 'lemon law' down there!
