This is so cute!! I also love that you guys were looking for a quiet place and then get blasted with church bells every 15 minutes and every cow has a bell 😂 yall are awesome!
thank you for the video i really enjoy it. been searching for similar videos like this for a while but youtube only pushes the walking tours on their search engine, at least for me. i was pleasantly surprised when this was randomly recommended
@@collinandmeredith Popular areas are the Golden Circle, South Coast and Snaefellness. A hike along Laugavegur Trail would make a great video though only open in the summer. So much to see and explore. Camper van rental would be a great option. Play Airlines or Iceland Air get ya there. Rock on!
Aww yay you'll love it!! They also have the coolest hot springs. You're not allowed to film there so it's not in this, but I'd definitely recommend going there too 😂
why all these cowbells? It's actually quite simple. Cows wear these bells, especially in the Alpine mountains, so that farmers can find their cows and certain predators like bears and wolves stay away from the ringing of the bells. Experienced farmers listen when they're searching for cows to see if one is missing and whether their cow is injured because the ringing of the bells makes it sound different when it's no longer walking normally. If they don't hear any bells ringing from a cow they're looking for, they usually know straight away that the cow is probably no longer alive, i.e. has died from a fall, in most cases in the mountains/Alps....And they immediately go and check the critical, dangerous places where a cow could have fallen, based on the farmers' experience. That's why they have these bells! And these bells are relatively small! There are bells that they hang around cows and bulls at certain times that are 3-4 times bigger than your head!!! Greetings from Central Switzerland (Lucerne) 🇨🇭🤗🤘🏼
Thank you so much for the explanation on the bells! That makes so much sense. Especially that farmers can tell when a cow is injured by the sound of the bell! Thanks for watching and sharing that ❤️🐮
Things I love about this video …hiking songs, hiking cheese, bird recordings, summit beers and of course you two intrepid travelers. ❤
You’re too kind!!! Collin and I are looking forward to signing you more songs this august 😂
Home sweet home ❤
An incredible place! Are you from Leukerbad?

In Austria when they have to rescue tourists from the mountain and they are wearing this kind of footwear they have to pay everything themselves.
Oh that's so interesting! Back in the states they make you pay everything you no matter what you're wearing haha. Good to know!
Adding this to my travel list ✔️

What temperature was it for you? 😊
A perfect 70 F :) we were there in mid September and I'd definitely recommend that time of year if you visit!
