We all know that despite a couple playoff births, including the greatest moments of my life when I got to watch the delmon young hit from the first row over the dugout thanks to a great friend, the awesome Sir Steve Geppi, but we all know we haven’t had a World Series team since the 90s. Even in 2014 where I was holding out for an October hot streak and running the table like the 2011 cardinals, but losing Manny, Wieters and Davis really crushed that dream and the baseball Gods rubbed it in our face with game 1 of the ALCS because we all know whoever had their undefeated postseason record broken first was going to lose that series. 1 run and we were World Series bound. ANYWAY, we have waited the better part of 30 years for redemption from Jeffrey Maher, and it has arrived. But we have a manager at the helm that absolutely will destroy this team. We all know we have to add pitching. If this stays the same, no way Burnes signs with us, word will spread, and no one else will sign either because we won’t be able to overpay drastically. Hyde puts Mounty back at 3, insanity, and it pays off immediately when he ends a rally in the 7th. And his 3 hits, two of which were pure luck, will have him right back in there so he can go 0-4 tomorrow against a righty. Should have pinch hit with Kjerstad. Anyway, there’s a lot at stake man. We get swept again in October and a fluke turns into a pattern that the media will blast. WHY IS HAYS HITTING AGAINST A RIGHTY?!?! I CANT TAKE THIS ANYMORE. IMMGONE FK THIS INDONT DESERVE THIS STRESS
I felt like the O’s got unlucky at points against the cubs, bottom line is you can’t win games with walks and errors. Hope they bounce back next two games
Dude. Homicide: Life On The Street was one of the best TV shows ever. And it was set in Baltimore! There is an episode called Bop Gun with Robin Williams, (with a little kid Jake Gyllenhaal playing his son), that is nothing short of excellent!!!!
I... probably... should just let this go, probably shouldn't say anything about this, and just let this go without comment... but.. fact is the Cubs have been my favorite team since I was eight... which was a minute ago, (let's just say Ryne Sandberg was my first favorite player, and there will never come a day when I don't love guys like Mark Grace, Andre Dawson, and Greg Maddux)....and I picked the Orioles to be my American League team A LOT more recently, thanks at least in part to the whole Jackson Holliday brew-ha-ha, (and Jackson and Gunnar and Heston, etc, all became some of my new favorites).. but, even so... I was 1000% rooting for the Cubs in this one. I kept seeing people online talking about how the O's were gonna just go out there and sweep the Cubs on their way to that set against the Stankees... and I just kept thinking to myself... underestimating the Cubs is a GREAT way to set the stage for a butt whooping. I very much wanted to say something in some of those spots.. but the O's were still the O's and I didn't really want to write a check the Cubbies couldn't cash. But I still had this feeling the Cubs were gonna rock and roll at least in this one, and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't happy when they did. Hey, there are 30 teams in Major League Baseball, and I would 100% root for the Orioles against 28 of them. Surely that has to count for something.
I would like to see Gunnar throwing off his correct foot on routine plays. Seems he has developed this bad habit of throwing off balance and off his right(not left) foot on almost every throw.
RYAN OHEARN AND KJERSTAD BENCHED MOUNTCASTLE HITTING THIRD AND HAYS BACKING UP WESTBURG AND WE ARE SURPRISED WE ARE BEING SHUT OUT AND GOING TO GET SWEPT?!?!?! I can’t do it. I really can’t. This is unreal. Almost 30 years waiting for a team in shouting distance of this teams talent and we are going to lose it all. Five years from now when we are listening to Elias in a press conference saying we are entering another rebuild and the remaining talent gets traded, everyone will think about how I tried to blow the whistle on Hyde and it won’t matter at all. I hate that I’m right, I hate it more than anything in the world. I would give both of my legs to be wrong. All we have to do is fire Brandon Hyde right now and put Cal in the dugout as interim. We will be the 1 seed on our way to the fall classic, and likely win it. This loss will make us 6-8 in the last 14, our run differential will have dropped nearly 40 points and we have Povich and Kremer pitching against the Yankees with Grayson likely matching up Gil as Cole and Rodon match up with the rest. We are going to go into the All Star break not only in second place, but if Boston stays hot, we could literally have a 1.5 or even .5 game lead on the wild card. This will be the worst collapse in franchise history. And we are sitting here doing nothing about it. lol he brought Tate out again. This way we definitely have no shot in the 9th when they score another run. YOU DONT LOSE 100 GAMES TWO TIMES(thank god for Covid)AND 19 STRAIGHT BC OF YOUR TEAM!!!! THEYRE STILL PROFESSIONAL BALL PLAYERS!!!!!
Dean Kremer needs to stay ahead of hitters it seems like on his good nights he is not getting behind every hitter. Stop worrying about your strikeout total and throw strikes.

Bring up Mayo-First Base, WestBurg to third base, Connor Norby to second base, Basillo- Backup Catcher, Santander -right field, Cowser -Center field, Kjerstad-left field, Bring up McDermott to Pitch as a starter. I’m tired of these rally killlers striking out, lazy fly outs and pop ups, it’s recurring. Time to move on from these bums
