I absolutly love these. I'm 138lbs and have put 800 miles on 2 pair. I have never ran over 500 miles in a pair of running shoes but these are still soft and spongy at 800 miles. I just ran out of rubber, lol.
If they work for you, I bet they are a fantastic shoe. I’m just sad they don’t work for me. I’ve managed to get a new pair of Invincible V1s so I am hoping they’ll last me a while until a newer iteration and hopefully one that is more suited to me comes out.
Yup.. same issue. Bought the Invincible 3 a month back and had to return them due to blisters and persistent heel slippage. These were the most expensive shoes I ever bought and was very disappointed. Got them exchanged for the Streakfly and my feet are so much happier in them!
Good to know others have had similar issues. I don’t think the Streakfly would be for me, I think I need way more support than it looks like it offers. I’d be keen to try it but at about £150 I don’t think I can take a punt on it. I recently got a new pair of V1 invincibles so I am hoping they keep me going for a while.
I only tried on mine and the heel slippage was horrible. Tried it with runners knot as well, from what I've read som said it would get better over time as the shoe forms to your foot, but personally I just couldn't see it working so I returned them just after walking around in them in my house for a few hours. That's after putting 800km in the Invincible 1's which I loved
It’s such a shame. The 1s are categorically the best running shoes I’ve ever had. Every time I went out in the 3s I just hoped the issues would be gone, but they weren’t. The heel slippage wasn’t the deal breaker for me, it was the complete lack of support on the foot arch that did it for me.
After 1000 km WALKING with version 2 i immediately noticed v3 was not the same anymore so it was a skip for me. I don't run, i need shoes for 8 hours standing and walking 10km on a daily base. V2 was probably the most comfortable shoes I've ever walked in but i needed some replacement. This might sound strange but the Asics cumulus 25 went on a very good direction with their latest model. Other then fast paced runs it beats the Nimbus in every other way which is strange but you'll have to try it. Cumulus 25 definitely is not as max cushioned but what makes them stand out and possibly even better then the nike IR or nimbus is the midsole/frontfoot cushioning. They did something fenomenal.
Interesting! I tried the Nimbus 25 when I was out in Gothenburg and they were very comfortable. I have the Kayano 30 but they are too firm for me really. I found a new pair of Invincible 1s that is going to keep me going for a bit. I think I’ll be looking towards a different brand (Asics, New Balance, Hoka) if Nike don’t get their act together with the v4s, which I am almost certain they won’t.
Took three runs (about 45k) for them to properly come right for me, and I'm glad I persisted as they are a fantastic shoe. My seventh Invincible after 6 across version one and two.
That’s good to hear. Unfortunately I just didn’t get any sense that the medial issues were going to improve for me. I’m really hoping this isn’t the end of the road w Invincibles for me, I still have life left in my 2 pairs of 1s, so fingers crossed that tides me over until a newer and hopefully improved model comes along.
@@RunSDJ Yeah, I hear you - your issue was certainly different than something like the heel slip for this shoe that does ease out. Roll on version 4...
You should try either the Asics Gel-Nimbus 25 or the Mizuno Wave Sky 7 ( just launched in my country). Both are excellent high cushioning shoes and very stable( I overpronate a bit) but the Sky 7 is a bit more stable because of a wave plate in the middlesole. The Gel-Nimbus would be the most cushioning ever made but it is not versatile at all, the Nike shoes would be better on this regard. While the Sky 7 is much more stable and with a great bounce from the heel area with a firmer forefoot. This should be more nimble, but I have to test it first with a few runs. Great video ! The reason I ended not choosing the Invincible 3 is also because it 35 % to near 50% more expensive then the japoneses running shoes.
Thanks for the tip, I’ve got a pair of Asics Gel Kayano 30 on order. They have had a bit of an overhaul and looking forward to trying them out. I’ll take a look at the Nimbus and Wave Sky too.
@@RunSDJ good luck with the Gel-Kayano 30 ! I heard that 4D cushioning piece helps the arch of the foot go back to its original format faster ! Kinda neat and new for stability shoes !
@@RunSDJ I tell ya man I got all kinds I have the New Balance more v 4s love them also the super comp trainer the fuelcell in this shoe to me is the best of all shoes out there for running I do love the nike IR2 and v3 but for me the new balance are the best but not all feet are the same
Agreed, though I haven't tried the V2 but given how identical they look to the V1, I would imagine they are the same. I've never had any issues with the 1s. I hope the 4s make some changes to get it back to being an amazing shoe, but I imagine we'll only see a minor update to the 3 rather than a large overhaul.
I just bought them 2 days ago because i got a good deal for 95€ and i have to say they are very comfortable BUT they are not very stable and have bad heel slippage!
Yep. Agree with both those points. I wondered if going down a size would have helped w the heel slippage, but the main deal breaker for me was the loss in stability and hot spots compared to the v1
I had the same problem with my arches. It was spilling over too much, not like the V1 or V2. And my ankle and heels didn’t feel secure. So I returned them and bought the ultraboost light. Maybe ill try the new infinity react run 4. Looks more supportive than the invincible.
I've just bought a new old stock pair of Invincible 1's in my size (UK13) which have been very hard to get hold of. I anticipate they'll be my debut marathon running shoe in September. The white pair of Invincible 1s in the video are my backups. They are a UK14, so slightly big, they are comfy and seem to be okay on the few runs i've done in them, but i've been after a pair of UK13 v1 or v2 for a while as my current pair have covered a lot of KMs now and probably aren't in optimal condition.
@@RunSDJ yes, in my calves and got it pretty bad also so I limit my time in the invincible run 2, but the shoe is very cumffy but my calves had to work hard to keep me balanced in such a squishy shoe.
Good insight. Thanks David. I’m having good experience currently in the Asics Gel Kayano 30. Certainly not as cushioned as the Invincible but very stable and comfortable.

I’ve got a couple of other reviews coming in the next couple of weeks. The Nike Pegasus Trail 4 GTX and the ASICS Kayano 30, hoping they’ll be as good, if not better.
I hope Nike takes notice (spoiler they won’t) but so many people who liked the 1s and 2s don’t get on w the 3s. I imagine the 4s were already fully designed before the 3s were released, but hopefully the 5s might see some changes that address these issues.
I just bought the V3. Ran a first 10k in them feeling fantastic. Came here wondering they can go long to 36-38km for my long-run tomorrow? Anyone can share?
If they feel good for you and you aren’t experiencing any of the issues I mention in the video, I think they’d be fine for your long run shoe. I run in V1 Invincible’s for my long runs with no issues.
Initially I was just going to sell them on, but I messaged Nike first and was completely honest with them and told them my issues with the shoe, contrasting this with my experience in the Invincible 1 and asked if I could return them which they said I could. Only time I’ve ever returned trainers (except if size was an issue). So disappointing given my positive experience with the v1 Invincible.
I was really disappointed with the shoe. The heel counter they extended to the arch area gave me pain. Less cushion. Less breathable. Heel pain. Heel movement. Heavier?
