    I just made this cake!!! It looks like your cake!!!
    The best part is that it is a dense moist cake I used coconut vanilla flavoring lemon juice from real lemon and butter flavoring those flavors mesh together and the cake is delicious it is half gone some of my family members came in and they wanted to take some with them... I will truly make this cake again!!! There were times you just want cake you don't want all the frosting you don't want all the glazes you just want cake and this one nails it for you! Thank you for the recipe!!

      I agree. I'm not big on a lot of frosting. Pound cake is one of my favorites because it doesn't have all the extra stuff. Lol

    • @DanielleLaShawn
      @DanielleLaShawn  8 місяців тому

      Haha! Both are good and there's honestly not much of a difference in the taste. The texture may be slightly different, but not enough to make a drastic difference. The flavor comes from the extracts more than anything else, and these days, I prefer only vanilla extract in my pound cake.

      Lol yeah this recipe makes a lot of batter. The finished cake easily serves 16

    I don't know what I did wrong. The flavor was good, but it didn't have that, dense texture a pound cake has, the texture was like a regular cake

      The only thing I can think of is that maybe you over-whipped the batter?

    You are brave to taste uncooked batter. That is a huge cake.

      I've been eating the batter my whole life. That was always my treat for helping my grandma make the cake. It was the best part.

      Sounds like you didn't bake it long enough. If you try it again drop the temp in your oven so it doesn't brown as fast. I baked the last one I made on 335 and it came out perfect. I'd try that.

    Too much sugar

    • @DanielleLaShawn
      @DanielleLaShawn  8 місяців тому

      You can add less and it will still be delicious! I actually agree that this recipe has more sugar than it needs, as written. I now use 2.5 cups.
