Luke is AWESOME! I’ve learned and grown so much in my window cleaning business because of this channel! I even started my own UA-cam channel on marketing a service business because of this guy! Thanks Luke!
Very helpful! I don't know how there are thumbs down. Tips on broken glass👍. Tips on pricing (don't let the customer low ball you. I had one try that and not only did I stay firm but I got the job)👍. Tips on dirty windows👍. Thanks guys now you please follow through with a tint removal vid.
Hey guys. Really like your channel. I have learned a lot just by watching you guys at work. A really close and dear older friend of mine, retired yesterday and GAVE me his window washing business, supplies, customers the works. Not having a job rite now because of the pandemic I'm going to dive rite in. I have a lot to learn so please keep the videos coming!!
My supplier sells a brass/bronze wool. Steel wool, I find, rusts easily, and it tends to scratch non-glass surfaces more easily if you're in a hurry. Way more expensive, but definitely lasts longer - you can even buy a bronze wool mop which I use a LOT on windows that haven't been cleaned in a while.
A friend and I just starting a window cleaning business in Australia and the pricing in America seems a little different to here in the land down under. $250 USD is around $340 AUD at the moment. It just seems a little pricey compared to something similar we would do over here. Am I over thinking it, or could prices actually be different here? Thanks a lot, love your videos :)
Just want to say thanks for taking the time to make these vids as i am very new just getting started. Did a popeyes chicken the other day and i wss having a really hard time getting the chicken grease off. Was wondering if you had some tips? Thank you
Hi Luke, just a quick question here, why would you not keep going all the way to the bottom of the window with the extension pole instead of have someone else doing it from the ground? Thanks.
Hello guys! like your videos. For commercial window cleaning every when do you recommend windows be clean and is different than residential properties? Thanks keep the good work and thanks for the videos great support
Luke i applied for a real job today and i got it - a place called Pat and Turner - pat the wheel and turn the corner- ha ha - thats what we do right? - jimmy windows detroit
On your own do you think this job would be around 2hours? I have just started out, had my first few jobs these last two days and massively underestimated how long the jobs would take for what I priced up. Any suggestions? Hourly rate? Charge more? tips on how to speed up the process? Love your videos. Massive help :)
Luke, Reanna, love your vids, how you get the time for editing I don’t know... well done. Question: wire wool, should I, or do you worry about leaving small bits of wire wool on the frame or sill that may sit and rust?
Thank you! I have a very strict schedule for editing. Every 2 weeks I sit down and edit my videos for the channel. Wire wool? Like 0000 steel wool? Should be fine , especially if its wet. Dosent RIP off like you think it would.
Hi Luke & Breanna, I’m thinking of providing this service to my customers and would like to know if you guys would give me a list of tools to get started. I would like to use the belt setup Breanna uses along with the other tools. There may be something already out there that you have but I wasn’t sure where to find it. Thanks so much! I love watching your videos!
Hey I'm trying to start window washing ,and am a little worried about paint, watersports, and other materials that can get stuck to Glass due you have any tips on that
Hey Luke could you make a video on cleaning/recognizing different types of glass such as tempered, tinted, etc? If you don't have a video already. Thanks!
Hey nice window cleaning guys what do you guys used to remove hard water marks on windows or how do you take off hard/calcium water marks on tinted windows I’m in Southwest Florida
The 3m pad holder can be found at lowes or home depot. The carbon pole is a old WFP that I converted into a trad pole. The aluminum pole can be found at window cleaning resource
First clean use hot water makes it a lot easier or wfp outside first then traditionaly clean the outside one pole one trad In the UK average price to clean residential outside windows is only £10.00 maybe double first outside clean £20.00 (8to10 windows) would love toe earn hundreds each clean
Hi there luke! Great video man i was curious of what type of camera you use to record the videos? By the way im also a high rise window cleaner form the bay area and i watch your videos all the time.
Hey how are you brother I’ve been following your channel for sometime now and I admire your job... I own a detailing company myself and I saw the opportunity of including this service to my customers houses I actually did a couple houses and they came out pretty good (I must admit that I learn a lot from you) but last week I face one of my biggest challenges one of my customers house was so bad ...the windows had this thick layer of hard water and I try everything ,vinegar magic eraser and some chemicals I bought specially made for that and nothing happened ...I was wondering if you can give me advice of how to remove really really bad and thick hard water spots thank you so much!!!
@6:10 It should feel like butter, that's what I tell my techs. :) Kinda cool, your steel wool scrub strokes look just like your wetting and squeegeeing strokes. I do the same thing, the brain's circuits are well formed.
Is there a way I could talk to you through email. I’m in the process of starting my window cleaning business and trying to find out a few things as far as registering and LLC, insurance. Please let me know. Thanks
Ok $250 bucks how is that even possible charging for those few windows? Second here in Texas 90% of the first time windows that I clean are about 500% dirtier then those windows outside of the paint over spray. Customers down here only want to pay about $1.00 per Pane for both sides. Fish windows charges about that price and so does a lot of the solo window cleaners. So how exactly are you guys getting customers to pay that price of $250?
Hey buddy! Idk maybe it's just the difference in our markets. But I actually think they are pretty similar from what I understand. I hear all kinds of things...too cheap ...too expensive. We charge what we are comfortable with 😁 Grime and filth never shows up good on camera lol. But o yeah , we have cleaned way way worse then this. It did have a good amount of overspray and adhesive at the tops on the interior. But yeah $275.00 ,2 people ...right at 1 hour and 10 min. Was a nice little job to be squeezed in on our Friday route.
Luke The Window Cleaner Thank you, a lot of customers down here for store front work don’t want to pay more then $1 per Pane. So I’m trying but kinda at a loss.
Wow! Those TX prices would put me out of this business. Although I don't do storefronts, at the moment I do construction clean up only (Turner, Elford, etc.) which does very well here throughout Ohio. They tend to value quality over pricing, got to give them the proper results though for the price. I have removed everything from cement/silicone to paint/factory stickers. I charge properly for an initial clean, first clean and then a final clean on all bids for curtain wall windows (ext/int) and all interior glass.
Way to stick to your prices! Its so frustrating to me hearing how cheap people are willing to discount there services. They are hurting everyone in the industry when they do that. Including themselfs!!
Lol you got me....it really took 8 hours and 45 mins. We called in another company to help. We needed a few booms for the back windows. We then had a crew of 8 hang from the front to clean those windows. We pressure washed the interior glass then subbed out a carpet cleaner to vacuum out the excess water. After that us and the other 16 guys labored inside with wfps to get the inside cleaned.
Didn’t mean to sound negative at all mate ! Sorry if it came across like that, I would have charged $350 for that job but I have to remember I’m from across the pond so prices are very different

Luke what's your opinion on plastic razor blades? I'm starting out soon and worried about scratching glass.
Do you use the steel wool pads for the 3m wall sander? How do you get it to stretch without getting to thin
Good stuff Lukey. What ladders are you using in the video?
Thank you! Those are Werner ladders. Can be found at lowes. Sorry I cant remember the specific name .
Hi Luke, just a quick question here, why would you not keep going all the way to the bottom of the window with the extension pole instead of have someone else doing it from the ground? Thanks.

I usually use a1 from titan labs ...that and 0000 steel wool.
How did you do the quote exactly?
This video helped a lot thanks
Great video. Where do you buy the pole and holder for the steel wool?
The 3m pad holder can be found at lowes or home depot. The carbon pole is a old WFP that I converted into a trad pole. The aluminum pole can be found at window cleaning resource

$137.00 per hour on that job ...not my best but its ok.
