More like “ Suspect seen heading *north* “
lmao you're right.
cane just to say this, nice comment
you beat me to it.
"north", not south xD ?
"All major roads are blocked, wtf is taking so long, you idiots?"
"Uh... yeah, dispatch? I'll refer you to sonic x ep 1 where this fuzzy bastard LITERALLY jumped a road block. Thanks, gfy."
This mod really represents how stressful it is living in San Francisco and having to walk UPHILL to work. Shit gets TIRING.
Plus how can you breathe after living so high up?
Hyperventilate for free oxygen
Sorry u have to go through that
So now its "City Visit"? Huh, sonic wanted to come back since they where okay with him now
He just wanted to destroy more GUN mechs. xD
@@sonicovertime I think sonic is addicted or something :p
Welcome to City Tour ! :)
@@Navi_Silver lol
@@matiosmenta ikr
In this version of the game… an island materializes, Sonic chases the military, and Eggman fixes a hole in the moon.
Don’t forget Sonic finding his new best friend Shadow.
@@NovaeGalaxia RIP tails
and a lizard pulls a underground wooden box out of the earth while the crew of the box are becoming alive
AND eggman put shadow to sleep
G.U.N. Adventure 2
I love how good SA2 mods are nowadays. So many good ones. I had a hard time coming up with the thumbnail for this.
Fun fact: This was the first video since I started UA-cam that I played with a controller without drift. lmao.. yes I'm cheap. Man does it fell good to have a new xbox360 controller though.
Good old 360 pad
_Gotta Go Frugal!_
How the heck did you do P-06 speedruns and epic gamer skills with drift??
recently got a new controller from nacon compatible with ps4 to play on pc. Feel better with this one than using PS4 one.
have fun speedrunning that one
Imagine chasing the truck instead of running away.
Uno reverse card lol
I mean, you can push it back if you abuse invincibility frames so it's not too far fetched.
@@Keisezrgs I see the truck is scared of hedgehog meat
I picture it going in reverse just as aggressively as it goes forward.
Well do I have a glitch for you...
This puts into perspective just how ludicrously pronounced the inclines are.
Honestly though, still not far off from actual San Francisco lol
Yeah but they are fun
@@lucianoocampo96 For real, though. I've only been to San Francisco once, but man, some of the inclines were practically vertical. How these people get around on foot is beyond me.
1:53 never thought I see the day the adventure games get a 2-D section.
It's like someone just wanted to make us 3D fans mad.
Yeah, I was very surprised too. I don't think I've ever seen a 2D platforming section in SA2. Modded or otherwise. Aside from Crazy Gadget hard mode, that is.
There was a Generations themed mod in Adventire 1 with a 2D section. Either way, I cringe every time it happens.
@@5h3i1ah_and_Nik0 Yeah, I forgot about that one. Good point.
What about Green Hill zone?
It honestly shows just how better it is to make Sonic go downhill and not uphill. Good nonetheless
A mix of both is always good. Uphill causes some of it's own unique challenges.
Well no. The original level is supposed to show some level of unlimited speed and in reverse it's just an uphill slog.
Pyramid cave uses both, Sonic's speed isn't constantly interrupted because the slopes are gradual like a roller coaster, you build a lot of momentum.
@@sonicovertime This great level design went a long way though too
@@Lukedub That's your opinion. If you want others to respect yours, then you have to respect theirs as well. Basic human interaction.
I was trying to make a joke like "When you forgot keys" or "More Like Escape In the City" but after watching it - it hurts so much. So painful.
return to the city
When a level is so good it even works in reverse
Are we watching the same thing here? Did you not see the extra shit put in place so you could go backwards. Clearly doesn't work in reverse or there wouldn't be all of the boost pads / bounce pads
@@shadowcitizen545 You’re not wrong xD
@@shadowcitizen545 especially in the section where you’d normally be running down the tall building
@@Traitors.Never.Play.Hangman dude that section got insane with the jumping ahahaha
@@shadowcitizen545 They don't mean it THAT literally, c'mon man 🤓
This is what it would be like if City Escape was in the end of the game. Also, it would be named City Visit (as one other comment suggested)
This isn't City Escape anymore, this is City Comeback
Trust me and we will be back to the city
City Return?
Don't call it comeback! It's been there for (literally) years!
No it's epacse ytiC
City Entrance
That is a lot of object clutter. I think they just wanted to see how much they could fit into the level. lol
But I feel sorry for the poor sucker or suckers that have to clean everything up. :P
no worries, G.U.N. be rich like that. lol
“Mom, can we get modern Sonic Generations?”
“No, we have modern Sonic Generations at home.”
Modern Sonic Generations at home: 1:54
3:38
6:44
The city residents must be wondering what all those floating blocks, ramps and dynamite packs are all about.
It looks fun but awkward at the same time
Was not expecting the 2D sections ala Sonic Colors/Generations/Forces, but they were surprisingly well integrated! The first 2D segment reminded me of Virtual Reality from Sonic Forces.
Also, 1:18 and 5:22 has the stunts sync up with "live and learn"!
Uphill tired me out
Is no one going to talk about the 2D sections?? I wasn't expecting them, but they surprisingly fit pretty well into the stage.
Sonic: We’ve got to escape from the city!
Also Sonic: Nvm Green Hill is too boring I wanna go back
When you've stayed in green hill for so long it becomes boring now:
So sonic wants to get run over by the truck
I was thinking the same thing, this would have been hilarious with the truck.
recently tried the truck glich bydaway, pretty funny.
feels odd to go up hill..but even then..it does works well.
Edit: also comes with 2D segments like Generation...but lacks the Truck chase
Sonic: This city sure has some steep hills.
You could definitely imagine people uncontrollably going downhill and crashing into buildings lol.
@@robot7933 imagine getting tripped
Me when i forget my copy book at home but i'm just at the front of my school
Lol
They call that part of the city "Downtown" for some reason
After watching and playing the original level so many times, my brain was having a difficult time processing this version of the level. It's really well done none the less
Sonic adventure 2 director’s cut looks good
"There are people everywhere!"
"City Escape is a lot more like City Tour right now"
The 2D sections are a super cool addition. This feels like one of those challenge acts from Generations.
Also I find it funny that some people legit get upset over seeing 2D sections in a modded Adventure 2 level
What I love most about your videos is the god tier gameplay, you nail every Sonic game!
Thanks, that's how I like to add my own style to these mod videos. I'm glad you enjoy. :p
Damn, never realised there were so many downward sloped in city escape
They should've played the music in reverse too.
This is so well done but at the same time, it's cursed.
Ikr it feels so strange seeing sections from the outside.
The monstrosity that this is, makes me appreciate how much creativity went into the programmers original level. This is good but the original from ground up is a legendary masterpiece.
Your opinion, m8. I’d say it’s good, but not quite masterpiece materials
I'd love a mod where every level was reversed like this, this is a p cool concept
Agreed. If I ever make a game using linear level design, I would add a Backtrack mode, as if the player finally goes home after all they had done. Adds a new experience to the level as well as more content to the game in question.
@@ge789 bruh thats swag af
this level becomes a complete drag if you go backwards, it's a literal uphill battle
He's a little confused, but he's got the spirit.
Watching this in reverse makes you realise what a nightmare this city would be to live in lol
This level design is so jank....
I love it.
As someone who lives in San Francisco, and has had to walk up some very steep hills, I find this to be very accurate
Did SA2 just turn into a 2D platformer briefly?
it did.. lol
radio lady should’ve been like “wait, he’s coming back”
@Nana Darkwah Reply to cringe comment
@Nana Darkwah Woah. Are we in a cringe war?
*Leave me be*
*Imprison me*
*Doubt me and we will*
*Break into the city!*
this hurts my head
So this is how sonic goes back to the top when he repeats a stage
Probably
Great showcase! Man, it makes my soul so happy to see new stuff for my favorite game of all time. And this level design is pretty awesome! Sooo glad the modding community not only figured out how to mod this game, but have done such amazing mods. Thanks to the many talented and skilled fans, the replay value of this game has gone from 100 to 900 for me. I love it. Once again, great showcase!
Hey look, 2D sections in an Adventure game.
If only that was shown in P-06, because that's the pinnacle of the Adventure formula.
What if this stage was reversed? How crazy would it be to go down those inclines instead of up them, somebody should put that in a Sonic game.
I'm truly glad that this popped up in my recommendations.
Wow, amazing job! You actually managed to make the reverse version playable and fun experience as well, gonna try it myself
Really cool concept with mixed execution. The 2D sections feel a little out of place, especially the one at 6:40 where Sonic could've simply hopped off at any moment where it not 2D.
good video sonic overtime
With this mod, we can deduce that now the goal is the beginning, and the beginning is the goal: p
And it's kind of fun to start everything the other way around
6:46
let's play TETRIS
XDXDXD
City Escape but Sonic forgot his wallet
Tony Hawk's Uphill Jam
yooo, I remember almost 100% downhill jam as a kid. good times, that game was actually really hard.
“suspect seen headed south”
sure
So you just goes backwards okay then it's cool I'll like it
Wooooowwww my heads spinning, “what a wild ride”
"Shut the *bonk* up tails we are nearly at the top"
If you dont get the reference it's right here ua-cam.com/video/ezOFFVVRUgM/v-deo.html
It should be near the end of the video
I was kinda hoping there would be a big spring that launches him up to the helicopter and trigger a cutscene where Sonic turns himself in to GUN
I read "Sonic turns himself into a GUN".
Now i can't unimagine a Sonic Glock XD
Just 3 rings away from 500
Interesting mod, it is possible to view unfinished or strange scenarios and textures, because the angle of the game camera was not designed for this angle, cool video 👍
Sonic’s on his way to turn himself in for his crimes
that bit near the end (beginning?) where you have to smash the boxes in a little maze is such a cool idea that im mad they didnt include some version of it in the actual game
This just looks like how Sonic would normally leave a city.
Also, those are some _steep_ hills!
You don't really notice it until you go through the stage backwards.
living here would be a chore, i could feel how dreadful those inclines are, so much for city escape, this is gymnastics escape, my goodness
This is really amazing and creative, you’ve done a wonderful job with this! I think this can get a lot better, as well, though, so keep up the awesome work! (:
I remember trying to do this concept with SRB2 levels back in 2.1, but it was nothing like this! There some really neat level design in this mod here.
Station Square More Like Backwards Square
you know..i dont think i ever realized how well Verticle this stage is till now.
funny how a mod can make you see things like this
More like *City Exploration* x D
But seriously - I like the idea - my only suggestions would be on the rails, the snowboard, and what would be the truck chase sections, to be less steep or inclined to keep that fast pace going. Being so uphill, it seemed to slow down a bit. Other than that - I like it.
Dang. Central City has a lot of downhills
The level is even more modern now with the 2d sections
I've had nightmares about driving on slopes like this. Now I know where it comes from.
Me: Mom, can we get Sonic Generations?
Mom: No, we have Sonic Generations at home.
Sonic Generations at home:
This is actually so fucking awesome. Best SA2 mod yet. Hope they do more backward levels!
This is proof that running up hill is way much harder than running down one.
If Sega makes a Sonic Adventure 2 remake, this needs to be a level.
I was expecting to see a cutscene of the GUN truck driver putting the truck in reverse but this is just as good 👍
I'd like to imagine that City Escape was under construction with all that platforming added on.
This is incredible! I honestly would not mind at all playing every level in reverse. Well, I’m not sure to the extent of “Mad Space” kind of reverse. Thank you for the video!
Edit: Thank you so much for loving my comment! You're too kind!
Something feels so wrong about a constant uphill Sonic stage. It makes me feel frustration just seeing this. It just reminds me of all the times I didn't have enough momentum in a classic game and how slow Sonic is when there is a slope.
There is something inside of me just screaming: "just go down!"
it's hella fuckin cluttered but really creative, i liked that. the 2d sections made me chuckle, those were pretty clever
its nice they added 2D sections in the stage
Physics: aight, Imma head out.
Camera angle: I'm right behind you...
I guess Sonic was LIVIN IN THE CITY!
1:53-What, is it just an unspoken rule now that every 3D Sonic level mod is obligated to have an Unleashed style 2D section?
I kinda feel like some of the 2d platforming is unnecesarry
Agreed. The flow of the level would be a lot better without them lol
Going up all those upwards hills is what it’s like walking in SF
Nice how they changed a lot of the layout to make it more interestin- did they just implement a 2D section into Sonic Adventure 2?!
Half expecting Sonic to be on his hands and knees trying to catch his breath after this.
0:42 what’s the point of that crusher? It can’t crush you!
ikr I was thinking that.
I now realise how long the road during the gun truck segment actually is
aw man, it has 2d sections now :/
"Suspect Is Heading South"
Sonic Going North Instead: *Well Yes But Actually Yes*
Looks like this is the very first adventure 2 mod with basicly 2D sections (or atleast from as far as i know)
A literal interpretation of the term "uphill battle"
How would anyone even be able to get to places without:
-tiring themselves
-wasting alot of gas
-stumbling downhill
-uncontrollably driving into a building
Downhill?
Pretty interesting.
3:58 This reminded me of Crazy Taxi, for some reason.
its like the video game equivalent to having to ride a bike up a hill
