    It's almost like a Siemens version of what my high school was like. We had a Simplex 4020 system with (severely skipping) 4903-9219's in continuous in the main wing, and TrueAlerts in code 3 (albeit synced) in the new wing. There was even a stray AS.

    I think those are U-MHU’s actually instead of UMMTs...they are commonly confused, the U-MHU is only a continuous or code 3 horn horn strobe sort of like the Wheelock AS. I know because I own one. UMMT’s are more raspy sounding while U-MHU’s are more smooth like the ones in the video.

    I always love all different types of fire alarm systems with remote strobes included, even in rare systems. Love when there’s one big room or wing with mechanical horns, and one different wing with electronic horns.

    • @fireandalarm1234

      I see. Well that makes sense since the U-HN-S17 was around back in the mid-90s if I'm not mistaken (the U-MMT on the hand I think came out in the 2000s maybe. Or possibly the 90s as well).
      Interesting though about the power supply. Never would've thought of that

      @fireandalarm1234 6 років тому

      +Evan Bart 410 Very interesting 🤔
      Sounds like this is usual for Siemens then. Weird, but I guess that's just that 😕. Strange syncing issues lol

    • @fireandalarm1234
      @fireandalarm1234 6 років тому

      +Zachary Fleck That makes sense. Siemens did make Sync alarms in which they worked fairly similar like Simplex SmartSync basically (I thought it had a certain name, but it's slipping past my mind 😕).
      Also, another scenario to why the horn was skipping could've been the horn and the strobe were wired together in conjunction (not on separate NAC circuits). But I don't think this was the cause 🤔. I think the Sync idea might be more compelling in this instance 😉

    • @fireandalarm1234
      @fireandalarm1234 6 років тому

      +Zachary Fleck That's very interesting. Again, that would make sense though 😕. I could definitely see the out-of-sync effect when the U-MMTs were flashing lol. Yet the U-HN-S17s were flashing in sync I'm assuming. So, I can see what you mean by syncing on the same circuit

    Kinda interesting how the part of the building with the U-HN signals (as well as the remote strobes and that one random AS-MC-R) are responding to a sync pulse (watch the vid closely...those strobes are syncing), but the hallway with U-MMTs has no sync. Ah, a school I recognize! Assuming that Zach still reads the comments on this video: did you ever end up testing (and maybe getting any footage of) this district's older middle school and the high school? Those have some interesting systems! I've been wondering what panel the MS has since it has some really old A/Vs and pulls stations on it, like VALS strobes and old-logo FCI MS-2s. The HS has a fully(?)-addressable XLS so the initiating devices are boring, but it does have a healthy mix of Siemens and Wheelock equipment.

    First there was that one school with 9219's and TrueAlerts, then this... What's next? Another school with Gentex GMS's and GXS's on a Fire-Lite or Notifier system with Commander3s in the new wing? (or possibly on an EST system but with Genesis horn/strobes in the new wing?)
    haha jk

    • @TheFirePanel
      @TheFirePanel  4 роки тому +1

      Yeah, when they expanded the system a new power supply was added to accommodate sync requirements. The older parts of the building didn't have to make any changes, so they could continue to do continuous.

      All the alarms are generally set to a continuous power supply and while the U-MMTs have jumpers/dip switches to output temporal code, the U-HNs do not
