Great reaction Ollie. Keep 'em coming.... Fun Fact: Harry's partner, played by Tyne Daly, would later star in another long running cop drama TV series in the 80s (with several reunion TV movies in the 90s) called 'Cagney & Lacey' (she played the part of police as Detective Mary Beth Lacey - with actress Sharon Gless as her partner, detective Christine Cagney).
I was just about to say the same. The show is iconic. I think She won a bunch of Emmys for it too. Her real life husband was George Stanford Brown. He was the Star of another classic Cop tv show "The Rookies".
@@reesebn38 Tyne won 4 Emmy's, joint highest in this category, for Cagney & Lacey only losing out twice to her co-star Sharon Gless. She's also won 2 supporting actress Emmy's and a Tony award for Gypsy. Superb actress.

6:12 I once complimented my little sister on a new outfit she bought to wear for job interviews by saying "It looks great. Very stylish" and she responded by squinting and growling "That's a hell of a price to pay for being stylish!" We love Dirty Harry.
Two years after this movie came out, the actual mayor of San Francisco, George Moscone, was killed in November 1978 by a city councilman, Dan White, who had resigned and then wanted his job back. Moscone refused, so White killed him and another councilman, Harvey Milk.
The Enforcer is the first Dirty Harry movie to use the skyline of San Francisco for the opening title sequence and credits, which would become standard for the next two films in the series.
I love all the Dirty harry movies but this one stands out mainly because of Tyne Daly, I loved her performance, she went on to do cop tv show "Cagney & Lacey".
"You really ARE a dirty bastard, ain't you, Harry?" "The dirtiest." Fun Fact: Theatrical movie debut of Michael Cavanaugh. Blade Enthusiast Fact: The brass knuckle hilt knife that Bobby Maxwell (DeVeren Bookwalter) used to murder Inspector Frank DiGeorgio (John Mitchum) and several others, was a World War I-era Mark 1 trench knife. Cameos Cameos Fact: Clint Eastwood's regular producing partner Fritz Manes appears as a detective. The appearance was one of seven that Manes made in Eastwood's movies. Most don't see or notice it but the actor John Crawford who plays the mayor is also an extra and the first hostage to walk out of the liquor store with a handkerchief over his face to shield himself from the tear-gas. Legendary Director Fact: One of two occasions where a Dirty Harry sequel and a western directed by and starring Clint Eastwood were released the same year. The Outlaw Josey Wales (1976) was released over the summer, with this movie released that winter. Earlier, the Eastwood western High Plains Drifter (1973) was released in the summer, with the Dirty Harry sequel Magnum Force (1973) released that winter.
The actor who looks familiar to you is Albert Popwell. He has been in four Dirty Harry movies, in different roles. In the first part he was the bank robber at the beginning, in the second part he was the pimp, here in the third part he helps Dirty Harry for the first time. And he is in 'Sudden Impact', the fourth Dirty Harry movie.
"Alright I'm standing on the street corner, and Mrs Grey there comes up and propositions me, that if I come home with her for $5 she'll put on an exhibition with a Shetland Pony." A classic Dirty Harry line you skipped over. Tyne Daly is awesome here as she also is in Cagney & Lacey.
Tyne Daly's father was the late James Daly, who was the star of popular TV series in the late 1960s/mid 1970s called "Medical Center". His co-star was the heart throb of the day, Chad Everett. Prior to "Cagney & Lacey", Tyne Daly also starred in a movie called "Telefon", a 1977 spy thriller starring Charles Bronson, Donald Pleasance and Lee Remick. "A Russian officer (Bronson) is sent to the U.S. to try to stop sleeper agents who will mindlessly attack government entities when they hear certain coded words, recited to them by a rogue Russian agent (Pleasance)" The coded words are from a Robert Frost poem, and go, "The woods are lovely, dark and deep, but I have promises to keep, and miles to go before I sleep." This is a good film, long forgotten by some, I suspect. Bronson was, like Eastwood, the American tough guy of that era. He made similar movies to the "Dirty Harry" series called "Death Wish", in which he portrays a vigilante out for justice. There were 5 "Death Wish" movies and 1 remake starring Bruce Willis. Bronson was in the World War II classic, "The Great Escape", the true story with an all-star cast (for its time) about a massive escape from Ally prisoners of war from a prison camp. It also starred Steve McQueen, James Garner, Donald Pleasance, David McCallum, James Coburn, Sir Richard Attenborough, among others. It is a classic, which just celebrated the 60th anniversary of its release on July 4, 1963. It's nearly 3 hours long...but it is well worth the time and a reaction.
The actor you mentioned that looked familiar is Albert Popwell. In "Dirty Harry," he was the wounded bank robber at the receiving end of Eastwood's iconic "Do you feel lucky?" and he also played the pimp in "Magmun Force." When I lived in Hollywood in the early 90s, he rented an apartment in the same building I was in. Great guy to hang out by the pool and talk movie industry stuff.
18:27 A lot of politicians and prominent business people wore suits to baseball games in the 70's. And San Francisco weather is only really hot in the summer. In fact in early spring SF can be downright chilly
Part of me almost cries every time I see those beer bottles explode. That's alcohol abuse! Also, you're right, and honestly, so is Harry. If you can't meet the minimum requirements for the job, male or female, you shouldn't have that job. That doesn't mean those who can't physically handle the rigors of the street can't still serve in the department, they simply should be in a part of the department they are better suited for.
Also, you ain't lived until you've toured a hospital. When I was a teenager, my class went to our local Shock Trauma center in Baltimore. It was an eye opening experience, I can tell ya. We toured the burn unit, critical care, and yes, the morgue. Half of the girls ran from that part. Me, I looked around, opened their refrigerator door, and started laughing. Inside of it, was a foot (literally, a REAL foot!) sitting next to somebody's lunch bag. Brown paper bag, not that sealed plastic stuff people use these days. A good old fashioned lunch bag. We did get to see SOME parts of an autopsy, but too many of my classmates couldn't handle it. Me, I am so morbid, I stayed and watched until they dragged me out. But it was fascinating stuff. You can watch videos of it on UA-cam. You see how the autopsy is done, and you can even watch the embalming process. It happens to us all, unless our body is never found, that is.
Bobby Maxwell was incidental, the real villains of this movie were the captain and Mayor. They only cared about their political career, and took nothing seriously. Harry had to step up and take the matter in his own hands, and his partner died because of it.
This one really showcases San Francisco in all its 70’s glory. You have revolutionary groups, the Black Panthers, and crashing through adult film shoots in North Beach. My favorite is the next one Sudden Impact. Clint directed that one himself, and it was kind of my introduction to the franchise:)
Man, if you thought Harry’s wardrobe was nice in this movie, prepare to have your mind blown at the awesomeness of his Members Only jacket in the next movie 😂
"Why is he walking so coolly--" Clint always had a distinct walk, he's calm here because he's not scared; no reason to be. In the first film it was revealed his wife had been killed by a drunk driver; the people he works for treat him like crap.... At some point confidence comes from not caring anymore 3:50
14:57, yeah Ollie he is recognizable as he was in Dirty Harry, "I gots to know" bank robber in Dirty Harry and the bad pimp in Magnum Force with pipe cleaner and you will see him once more in Sudden Impact as guess who? Sorry, can't tell you.
Albert Popwell, who passed away in 1999 was supposed to have been in the last Dirty Harry movie "The Dead Pool", but couldn't due to scheduling issues.
I did have some difficulty with willing suspension of disbelief--I was trained on two models of Light Anti-tank Weapons (LAW in the Army), the M72 series and the M136. I've seen them both during live fire demonstrations (along with the old M20 Super Bazooka) and familiarized by firing subcaliber training rockets and electronic simulators. The actual munitions are expensive.
12:48 DNA evidence really wasn't a thing at that time. 13:20 Neither was cell phones. 18:52 At that point in time it probably would have been inconspicuous. The custom van was quite popular.
While watching the Clint classics don't forget to come back to the Sergio Leone westerns. 'A Fistfull of Dollars' was good, but those films reach greatness in 'For A Few Dollars More' and 'The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly'.
1.) Dirty Harry 2.) 2-A The Enforcer 2-B Sudden Impact (tie)....Sudden Impact is so different 4.) Magnum Force 5.) Dead Pool, still a pretty good plot.

Very sad news I have to share with you: On Saturday night, my sister's boyfriend, Marvin, passed away at the hospital following a motorcycle accident. He was 29 years old.
