Just to be clear for everyone taking this very seriously… this is intended as a light hearted poke at traffic AI, which I LOVE. These little things are elements we should all laugh over as it’s quirks like these that give games personality, for me anyway.
Bruh for me it looks similar to the previous release. This game is worth playing. And after watching this video, it made this game worth pirating lmao.

pirating is still handy, one, you get to try before you buy and two, people who cannot afford it get to play it before there wage packet goes in and then buy it ,@@TeamCloud. we are living in hard times now and people need to use whatever resources avaible to be wiser with there cash

my biggest gripe (this is when its running without glitches) is how sharp the cars turn into other lanes ect seems unrealistic to me. comes across as lunatic joy riders

I am impressed by the fact the garbage truck did a maneuver to correct its location in the lane. In CS1, the vehicules almost just do 180 to fix their trajectories.
Impressed, nearly caused two vehicle accidents in the space of three seconds. 🤣
Man does a 3 point maneuver after realizing he fucked up!
Others would just go from the straight lane and cut all across the crossing!
In CS1 the vehicles stick all to the same lane even if all the others are clear just to correct 0.001m before the turn
yes I do like that they can reverse to correct themselves, makes traffic a bit smoother instead of in cs1 where they’d just sit there with room to fix their position..

You can edit the entire lane to be a left turn instead of just at the junction. If you look further up its set for straight only. Edit it for the right turn to get rid of this issue
How? I have to rebuild the road without nodes to achieve this

Idk why they are coded to make last second turns and merging. They should have it setup to where traffic will chose the earliest safe point to vhange lanes with maybe slight randomness to have whats seen here happen.
nonono if they all get in the one lane early, then that just leads to really long single files where you have a 4 lane highway and only one lane in use.
It could decide a node or two earlier though or just move the node back a bit

I think this is pretty real, because people usually do this in real life, where they cut people off, and switch lanes at the last second.

It's not, but this is just a road designed to be bad for the video. Easy to fix it ingame
I don't understand why the developers don't make the cars change lanes way before the intersections.
Notice how the road said it was a straightaway further back then it quickly swapped to being a turn lane. A lot of people in real life get confused by those types of lanes too. I haven't played the game yet but I am guessing this is user-error and there's a way to tell the cars ahead of time that there is going to be a turn.
I guess the game updates the traffic logic not that often and than stuff like this happens because it can't calculate the whole path for each car beforehand but has to do it on the fly because you can add or delete roads and there are also random events happening.
CS 1 traffic is like a Roomba driving into a bedpost a dozen times and still unable to get the message. CS 2 is like a badly behaved Tesla that randomly decides to plow into a row of parked cars and burst into fire.
They're just simulating the typical Michigan driver.

As a fan of the game I find these little things to be hilarious and is what makes playing the game more fun. It gives the game it own unique feel
Yes exactly this!!! 🙌 I am actually going to miss things like the donut vans flying around too! Those fun little quirks are definitely needed for the enjoyment of a game, so I’m very glad traffic still does some questionable things like this!
Yet when u have 230000 citizens this bug fcks up the traffic, annoyingly creating congestions where all the lanes try to merge in 1 lane leaving other 3 empty
I assume the AI does not care about lane change until the very last segment before the intersection comes up. A "dont change lane" upgrade tool would have been a really nice thing tbh 😢
or rather they should've coded the traffic AI to change lane at around or before the halfway point of the street. Use the information about what lane the agent wants to take long before the final segment of the lane.
Seems pretty realistic to me. Siri likes to say “turn left in 50 feet” when the lane is already full
It gets even MUCH worse. Like if you use the tool to prohibit certain turns on intersections, the traffic just will ignore your changes.

In my city there are traffic jams because even on 6 lane highways every vehicle waits until the very last second to change lanes, they'll be driving sideways as they shoot over 5 lanes and if they can't get over they just stop and cause traffic to pile up

I’ve found some of the prebuilt intersections cause traffic to behave very oddly and create jams in places where it usually would flow fine.

Those pedestrians are super realistic. I pretty routinely see people walking along the edges of highways far enough from any building that I wonder where they even started from.

Always a problem I've noticed, the cars can only change lanes when they are in a "node" and they typically try to use the last one possible

As a cyclist I can't tell you how accurate this is for the motorists who don't value human life. I've been cutoff so many times by motorists who want to beat me to the intersection only to cause an accident in the process.
TBF, I have walked on the shoulder of a highway before, multiple times.
It’s probably a simulation of a good day in New Delhi traffic. Just needs 100x more cars and scooters, people turning 2 lanes in 4, and people driving on the wrong side of the road.
I have the same problem in Transport Fever 1/2. It is very bad when there is a traffic jam, then only one lane is occupied, although both should actually be occupied.
That's some Euro Truck Simulator 2 multiplayer aah shiiz. We can also agree that it happens in reality too. xD
