What a lovely old boy!!!! I had to rewind to hear if I’d heard 27 right! I recognize that TB Bounce, that’s for sure! I had a 17H TB gelding who came off the track. He Did everything except drive, he was wonderful. And as a Hunt Seat mount I won many Equitation and Pleasure classes on him…as long as the sitting trot was not called for. He had a trot that would jar your teeth loose, but his canter was like a rocking chair! Once again, you have a lovely mount!
I wish more people would do sidesaddle here in the USA. I found a local barn that has a sidesaddle instructor and I am positively IN LOVE with it. She has a beautiful vintage sidesaddle that belonged to the wife of the owner of Tiffany's jewelry store so we lovingly coined it, the Tiffany Saddle. So many little nuances to keep mind of but I love every minute of it.
How do we cue the horse to make left lead canter on side saddle? I mean one got no leg on the right hand side of the horse, and the seat bones are not symmetrical to begin with.
hg xob Love this! The Calvary regiment in WWI had to learn side-saddle. Because it’s the most efficient way to roll out telegraph cable in a ditch: One side you have the big roll of cable on a spinner, and on the other side you have, well, your legs! -- The things we need to do before cellphone.... 🤣
27?!!! Good grief!! He should be retired poor chap! My TB is having a wonderful retirement which he started at 20. Enough is enough. Give them a break.
There must be some unwritten code to being placed in these classes akin to the mysteries of belonging to the Freemasons..........It's obviously rather more mundane and certainly not ones accent, though. How does a wobbling black sack of potatoes on an obviously much loved puffy fetlocked, U-necked, open mouthed yawing, head shaking, weak hocked donkey come second when there are perfectly decent well behaved and better horses and riders down the line. No offence but the pig-fat cob is better just for one. The winner keeps falling asleep on his feet! A little spliff between friends was it? Does the blood test come before or after winning? Fascinating. Obviously the donkeys reputation precedes it if the judge is asking about his present age. Been about a bit has he? Unfortunately that still doesn't change matters at all. He's still a much loved puffy fetlocked, u-necked.........Do explain. Surely the cut of ones abayas isn't the be all. Is it? Otherwise you might as well be prancing around the grounds without the horse, save the old boy having to bounce you up off that saddle each stride on those very tired old hocks.

He looks amazing especially for 27! I hope my 18 year old is still doing this well at 27!
What a delightful person he is. A real gentleman.
Lovely commentary by you. I have just acquired a side saddle myself.

Thoroughly enjoyed this video and your commentaries and information. Thank you! Gerald is gorgeous.
LOVE how you compared him to old slippers!! That is the perfect description for old lads like him :)
