Fortnite AMD performance mode fix and explanation!

- This is a quick fix for those of you on AMD cards with lower than expected performance while using the PERFORMANCE MODE REDNERING mode in Fortnite. This is a struggle for many competitive players and I hope this video helps you out. Keep in mind I record using OBS and it has a significant toll on my fps so my fps in this recording should be around 30 frames lower than without recording.
Easy method of fix starts at 9:18
Hey, i believe i found an acual fix, no dx12, you can actually run the game in performance mode. This has worked for me with my rx6400, i usually had about 60-90 fps in performance mode, but once i enabled "show metrics overlay" to see my gpu util, i was suprised to see 165 fps locked, it was dropping, but thats just my shit pc that drops in dx12 too. Anyways, it gave me a huge fps increase, about +90frames. Yes i also know what show metrics overlay does and it shouldnt really have anything to do with performance, but it fucking works for some reason. Try it and let me know if it also worked for you. I
@@nemanjapejakovic3036 I will def try it ASAP
@@nemanjapejakovic3036 keep in mind however, that what matters the most is consistent gpu usage and boost clocks.
I just tried it and no, it did not fix the CPU bottleneck in performance mode
@@nemanjapejakovic3036 can you please specify how you turned on the metric overlay and where to find that option in adrenaline?
Thanks a lot. Was wondering why fortnite was running so bad with a brand new rx 6750xt on low settings performance mode. Switched to dx12, and average fps increased by 80, with less stutters. Also, on performance mode, my gpu clock and gpu mem clock were being limited to 500 and 900. This also got fixed when switching to dx12.
12:02 “And personally I enjoy the little jiggle” nah my dirty mind 💀
💀
Thanks for this I was skeptical but now I can actually play the game with wayyyyyy less stutters wayyyy more consistent frames etc. before I’d jump n have around 60 frames now I can get 160 solid. And actually play though the match without 60 frames
It’s bad tho because my cpu gets hella hot on dx12 I get like 75c to 80c
I think amd is never gonna fix it, it has been here for so long and they still didnt do anything. The only "fix" is, if epic do dx12 performance mode, the ssme thing like with dx11 api, just dx12 with all the effects details removed. I switched to dx12 too, cuz its more stable and i think even for nvidia when you have powerful gpu like 4070, just something around that, its better to have dx12. The only thing i hate, it looks too "good" even when i turned everything off, cuz i was always playing on performance mode.
i have a rx590 and ryzen 3600 and i have this issue which is weird since i remember when peformance mode first came out it worked just fine
The problem is all DX11 games run like shit on new AMD GPUs. The developers just don't care for us, because yet again Nvidia has 90% of market share or something
this might be right coz i had the same issue with gta v. i obviously wanted the most fps on gta so i used the lowest graphics settings possible but all it gave me was less fps and large fps spikes which i found crazy because i have an rx 6750 xt with amd ryzen 5 5600x. however
when i made the graphics ‘better’ my fps was much more stable and there was little to none fps spikes. probably because my gpu was being used alot more.
As far as I know, Gta V's engine has a problem when the game tries to run over 180fps.
What fps are you getting with 6750xt and 5600x on fortnite, was thinking about buying this combo
Um you do realize the show grass setting is for save the world right? View distance on near affects not only seeing items from somewhat far away, but it changes the outfit, builds, and grass to look like performance mode for some reason.
That was before…before it didn’t scale with foliage. Now it does, thus why it changes grass and builds
I have a 6900 xt with a Ryzen 9 32gigs of ram. I play on performance mode with major fps drops always. I switched to direct x 12 with a huge difference with input. It never drops fps in directx12.
Just switched from dx12 to performance mode and the game looks clearer and feels way smoother no issues here

i got RX 6700 XT and ryzen 5 7600x on performance cant get stable 160 while on dx 12 i get 200-450 fps constantly what really triggers me is the input delay

Im using all performance mode for my rtx 4090 and im still bad 😢
I have a rx6600m and Ryzen 7 5800h on my laptop. The problem for me is that whenever i am on performance mode, the gpu only draws out like 20-30 watts whereas it draws 70-80w in direct x12 and that gets me a lot more fps

I have a 6900 xt and 5950x, and i dont get stutters like ur saying, so idk whats up with ur stuff. I run dx12 mainly, performance mode causes stutters here and there aswell as significantly lower fps in more complex areas
Sameeee a bit weaker set up compared to yours but even a rx6800xt shouldnt be performing this bad on fortnite.
