The guy ahead of the screed with the rake is totally important to allowing a proper screed. Not enough credit given these guys. He ensures the screed enough mud without holes or mounds. Good job!
Disregard the negative comments buddy. This video demonstrates just how different concrete guys in Australia are compared to everyone else around the world. I’m very jealous that you have the time to pace yourselves because here in America, two guys on a magnesium 2x4 race each other to the end. Each pull is a step back and a typical day in Detroit Michigan includes striking anywhere from 5000 to 20,000 square feet off by hand. Anything more is typically done with a laser screed. Stay safe brother.
I do super flat floors for a living ,... 15 years for arguably top 3 best fibre floor company in Australia .. and I can say this guy is a flat screeder. Good work mate
It’s nice to have two ruff leveller’s I worked for many forms who don’t like paying wages so I had to ruff level screed hand cast colour float trowel up then stamp the concrete I was on £100 pound a day You have a good team fella well finished 👍
Great job screeding. Quality work. We would have done it with two guys and a 16' ft rod, but as long as you can give the customer quality, doesn't matter how you get there. Rake guy did great as well. Nothing worse, than having to rake concrete with your screed. Keep up the good work.

Bro this is awesome video it is long but when paying attention and looking carefully at how you move a screed especially when pulling a sludge and levelling it off, it is a repetitive basic movement. It is easy to follow. I have no experience at all in this trade but I am DIY guy and I like this video. Bro please are you able to make a short video explaining the part of a screed rail and which edge and direction that makes the concrete smooth. Just please explain more in detail. Thanks Bro
Half the work of concrete screeding is in what I call "quantity". It starts with the guy on the chute/pump, then the guy on the vibrator, then the guy on the rake, then the guy on the screed. If the guy on the chute/pump puts the correct quantity in, the whole screed bay is easy. The vibrator man can control it a bit with the vibrator and tells the pumpy more or less. Then the guy on the rake has to move the crete if there's too much or not enough, then the screeder after the rake. It's a team game concreting, that's why is a lot harder if you are a DIYer or doing it on your own. Either no one knows what they're meant to be doing, or you have to do everything yourself.
Concrete ninja just got my screed tool deliver, here in California every body used regular 2x4 wood and aluminum just a few people, but I really like that one you guys used, and today got mine delivered from home depot, can't wait to use but no concrete job right know.

Hey good screeding bro. More credit to your raker but! Helps when it’s not so high that it’s flowing over your screed and getting all over your hands! Good raking bro!
You gotta have a good rake guy when usuing that screed board, it’s so light , that it’s really hard to screed a 5” slump or so. Personally I like a heavier board. That’s a perfect footer screed though. Great job too! Looks really good.
David Boitnott -SGA1 I agree with heavier board. Personally I grew up using a redwood straightedge. And the 8’ I have now I made over 18 yrs ago and still going strong. Wood cuts nicer to me on tighter slumps or cold joints
That screed is pretty cool but we use a 14 ft hand screed for our Mark's and then a 12 ft power screed and it smooths it off to the same look and 1 man runs it. But it's still awesome the way you did it.

The guy ahead of the screed with the rake is totally important to allowing a proper screed. Not enough credit given these guys. He ensures the screed enough mud without holes or mounds. Good job!
Thats the most skilled and hardest thing to learn . But mostly ive seen people assume the guy finishing behind as the main man
Also I’ve seen a lot of companies use very inexperienced workers for that part making the guy or guys screeding with double the work
A guy who knows how to work the chute helps too...
That's why you don't piss off your graders. And you buy them a beer after work.
If they don't like you they can make your job very difficult.
Funny you say that. That’s one of the first thing I learned when I went into concrete. We don’t get any credit what’s so ever.

Thanks bro thanks for watching and we all do it differently that’s for sure . 👌👍
The 1st thing and most important is a good crew where everybody knows their job.
For real? A crew who knows what their doing is important?
Or just know how to do it yourself and teach everyone you hire. 🤷♂️ not hard at all
@@Pablo_19_26 Well, that's how you get a good crew. It takes time, because one just doesn't magically know how to do it himself.
Just home from job now very very tired the guy on the rake behind was not a guy for raking and I'm paying for it now 🙄
Such a great person who love a nice finishing.. The screeder makes it pretty good and perfect results.
