Hence Targeting the og voice actor of charlie brown. Charlie went into it, but Cartman Knows that Charlie brown literally killed himself. totally in character for cartman to get his ass beat by a girl- But lucy did it with such vicious grace, i love her Charlie's delivery was also really elegant somehow. all these versus are super satisfying to listen to, and the animation is extremely pleasing.
I just realised how much charlie brown and butters have in common: - Both are too kind and gullible - Have too little hair - Bullied by their friends all the time - Always sad or depressed because of people mistreating them
Something I noticed is that in Charlie’s verse, cartman was drawn in his style, but in Lucy’s he stayed in his own style. I guess Lucy really didn’t want him having any association with her
It’s also a reference to Jews being stereotyped as having horns and thus being demons, since Eric Cartman is being anti-Semitic. Another comment already said this but I felt the need to further emphasize it here.
Wait you know what i just realized? In the end of Cartman's second verse he says about going to his local psychiatrist. And guess who comes back? Lucy who is basically their psychatrist for 5 cents.
I love how Charlie responds with such devastating pure truth to Eric's petty "ur mom" jokes, then just leaves when he digs himself in the nonsense suicide talk he made up entirely on his own, to give the place to Lucy who completely annihilates him at his own game, all is so much in character
@Outerflick I don't think so, it's just a big reference to South Park. In one episode Cartman is constantly threatening on killing himself for his toxic relationship, to the point that he makes an entire rap song around how people don't want him to kill himself, even when in reality nobody gives a shit since they know he's lying. This video just put a lot of emphasis here because: 1) It's a rap battle and that scene is the only time where Cartman raps and 2) To showcase two of Cartman's core character traits, projecting his misery on others and coming up with his own version of reality instead of paying attention to other people.
@@RoboRebellionStudiosthe south park style animation is spot on! and the peanuts animation has the same cadence and energy as the animated specials! only thing i’d criticize is the line art on the peanuts characters could use a little more work (especially the side profiles)

2:51 "WHY DONT YOU PICK ON SOMEONE YOUR OWN SIZE, YOU OBJECT⁉️ ID SAY YOURE TOO ROUND TO BE A BLOCKHEAD‼️" I have seen NO comments about this, you guys are sleeping on this part.
This battle is still a masterpiece. I’ll admit I haven’t fallen in love with anything else you’ve done in Season 3, but this battle is about as close to perfect as a battle can feasibly get. Amazing work.
Kinda neat detail I noticed; throughout the rap the South Park characters in the background all seemed mostly disinterested, while by contrast the Peanuts characters seem much more generally supportive and happy to be there. Stuff like Sally giving Charlie a mic, a few Peanuts characters cheering Charlie Brown on and Lucy showing up to diss Cartman (albeit berating Charlie for not finishing off the battle with a punchline) creates an interesting contrast to how Cartman's only interaction with his own show's cast in this was negative/hostile (something Lucy even call him out on).
0:25 Sally gives Charlie a mic 1:15 Kids cheering for Charlie 1:58 South Park kids are sad, Peanuts kids are cheering. Also some Canadian dude in the back. 2:05 When Cartman says “everyone in your family thinks you’re a fucking disgrace” you can see Charlie’s sister. 2:48 Lucy disses Cartman 2:59 she must be pretty strong if she can lift his fatass up
Honestly, after Lucy said her line, she repeated what Cartman said about Brown being terrible, but she said there's no hope at ALL. I'd say she helped Cartman win.
2:24 - 2:35 is a reference to Peter Robbins, the original voice actor for Charlie Brown, the lines “damn it, I know it’s so hard but man you gotta hold on” and “you may have nothing to live for, but dude you gotta let it go, no Charlie don’t do it, don’t do it NOOOOO” references that Peter got a sickness and probably couldn’t take it and k*** himself
“But I’m here to tell you taking your life is not the answer” Charlie’s VA Peter Robbin’s took his own life, that’s a step too far Hartman, DAMN Eddie, good to have you back
Charlie's bars were so good; "None of the networks care about us- by the way, stream our new specials on Paramount +" "You even stole the Simpsons slow and gradual decline" Are you kidding me? He murked that kid lmao
@@ziggazaggar I mean clearly she won but I am happy she at least gave Charlie the opportunity to finish Cartman off. But that would have been out of character.
2:51 the way Lucy said 'why don't you pick on some one your own size?' I say one, she was making an obvious jab at cartman's weight. And two, she was sticking up for Charlie, cause despite the fact that she's pretty much his bully, she's still kinda his friend (the second idea was just because I thought it'd be cute for Lucy to actually care about Charlie in her own way 😅)
A beloved child character vs A despicable child character Both come from shows that tackle relatable topics. Peanuts more towards child issues while SP toward adult issues
And you said Miu Iruma was "the most dreadful girl"...your impression of Lucy van Pelt was way too spot on! 🤩 You definitely won this whole battle with just one verse...I mean, you even dissed Charlie Brown without a single rhyme! 🤣
You killed it! In a sea of Charlie being decent, Cartman being okay. You're was spot on. You literally had my favorite verse upon re-listening. Just wish we could know what the final punchline was!
Lucy joining in to roast Cartman is just perfect. Considering she’d always bully and insult Charlie so many times before. But it feels refreshing to see Lucy stand up for him even if she’s still gonna insult Charlie Brown continuously. Not to mention the nostalgia and references that were put into this! Definitely getting a sub. Keep doing what you’re doing! 🔥🔥
It’s kind of nice how many references you was included in this and how the characters was exactly how you expected them to act, especially with Lucy and Charlie Brown. Lucy trying to give Charlie Brown a chance to shine and him ending up failing and Lucy berating him for it.
It's even better than that--they basically adapted the football gag into duet form, with Lucy setting Charlie up only to have him fail thanks to her pulling the rug out from under him.
@@guywholikesorialot1246I personally believe it would have been a reference to Thanksgiving Dinner. It makes sense as a bar and a reference to Charlie Brown and the Peanuts.
@@saltygibus5746 While I can definitely see it, it felt more like the Christmas special combination with like the football scene and why Charlie brown why. Charlie Brown taking lead while everyone listen to him but doesn’t seem to care too much but Eric who is insulting him more than anyone else have insulted him. He finally gives up realizing that he doesn’t have to put up with this. Lucy just like Linus doesn’t want to see his friend get bullied and insulted and decided to take matter into her own hands, clearly getting angry as her hair get frazzled and messed up before finally calming down and let Charlie Brown attempt to shoot a diss only for him to miss and Lucy berating him for it.
@@HaganeNoGijutsushiits funny because I’m pretty sure they both have massive crushes on Charlie Brown in the comics (I might be misremembering when it comes to Marcie but Patty 100000% does)

I'm dead serious in saying ive listened to this like 20 times, its so catchy and amazing. Their voices are super accurate too! Great job on the VA's parts!
All of cartman’s roasts were just shallow jabs at Charlie’s insecurities, while throwing his friends under the truck. But Charlie? Went for jabs at the show. Honest points and accurate jabs. And when he realized cartman was just insulting him? He realized it was a waste of his time to keep arguing, so he left.
Lol that's why Cartman's rap was better, it was more in character and in theme with the battle. Charlie's were bias jabs at the actual show, not so accurate.
I do want to point out something: at 2:24, you can see a little bit of electricity around Cartman when he says "dammit"; this is a reference to the movie "Bigger, Longer, and Uncut" where he had like a chip or something put in his head that would shock him whenever he cursed. Absolutely fantastic detail, even if it's really subtle.
3:09 is a reference to the Scott Tenerman episode. I’ve not seen South Park but I’ve seen clips. It’s where Scott sells pubes to Eric and Eric gets revenge by killing Scott’s parents, turning them into Chili and then gives it to Scott to taste test. I didn’t know they were related I never saw South Park.
I absolutely love that Charlie didn't even bother to give that second verse, didn't even need to say anything to get Cartman's goat he just implied this wasn't worth his time
I love how the aspect ratio and artistyle changes during Charlie's first verse at 1:10 it really gives a subtle nod to difference in time period and history these characters have.
Something interesting about the Peanuts characters rapping... The way Charlie Brown and Lucy rapped was perfect for each of them, and made me think of two or three more... Charlie: as it was done: slightly analytic, low-key, a fair bit cynical, poking holes on the show as a whole. Lucy: again, as it was done: pure, undiluted malice and savagery. She spends no time bragging or analyzing, she just goes at the opponent. Lucy was always mean in her criticisms, after all, and never saw any need to "defend" herself in any argument. Now, for other hypothetical ones: Peppermint Patty: would spend a bit talking herself up, in opposition to Cartman's inadequacies (especially due to her being very sports-focused and physical) and would be cheerful nearly all the time (a la Maui in Maui vs. Kratos). Linus: deeper analysis than Charlie Brown, even more low-key, but supremely good at exploiting insecurities. Schroeder: absolutely perfect flow, plenty of good allusions to high culture, generally average in the other aspects. Absolutely would incorporate Beethoven in the music, for great effect.
This was so much fun to create! Thank you so much for the opportunity. Seven months in the making lead to this and i couldn't be happier to see everyone's reactions! I love y'all!! Tell me what y'all think and your favorite parts! (: - ryTchie

This is so well written! It fits the characters so well too, Erik Cartman is just bullying Charlie and tryna make him feel bad while Charlie Brown is bringing up valid points and good criticism. Love your videos!!!
I decided to make a playlist of based on the videos I liked and adding them to my favorite videos of 2024. This is without a doubt, the best of this year. I came back to this video several times. It is that good. The beat is so very different but original, Cartman’s delivery is very on point ESPECIALLY when he goes into preacher mode and kills Charlie Brown, Lucy’s flow is just on a whole new level. Like no cap, must’ve listen to this well over 50 times. Best video this year hands down. Edit* I also wanna give credit to the VA who did Charlie Brown. Their delivery was outstanding as well. The only things I would’ve changed is the way Charlie Brown said “None of the networks care about us.” The delivery didn’t match the animation. Other than that everything else was perfect What Charlie Brown said. Cartman no complaints. Perfect, wouldn’t change a thing. Delivery, animation, everything. Lucy however… was almost perfect. The only thing I didn’t like was the ending were Lucy grills Charlie Brown. Everything she said was totally on character. It just wasn’t rapping so that is a minor complaint. And it hit a personal note with bullying but still great delivery. Everything else about her was perfect. The only other complaint is Charlie Brown didn’t say aaugh like they say in peanuts. Even with these minor complaints, it’s still the best video this year.
When Kyle raises his middle finger in Lucy's verse, he looked angry before he flipped the bird and then consistently looks in Lucy's direction rather than Cartman's. I like to think that perhaps Kyle, although very subtly and reluctantly, decided to back his frenemy instead of Lucy. Alternatively, he could just be pissed at all parties involved.
Nah it's hard to tell sometimes with the sp artstyle but the moment she says that kyle's eyes subtely shift to look at cartman when he flips him off. I think at the end of it he's just done with any nonsense in South Park so yeah he'd probably just be annoyed with everyone.

Something I noticed is that in Charlie’s verse, cartman was drawn in his style, but in Lucy’s he stayed in his own style. I guess Lucy really didn’t want him having any association with her
I mean Charlie was in South Park style for cartman’s first verse and then not again in the second verse

All of them were in character, Although I would have loved if it was a full on Peanuts vs South Park Total War.
@Outerflick oof...
@OuterflickNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Cartman in the Peanut form of animation looks so good to me ngl.
"You even stole The Simpsons sad and gradual decline" Did NOT need to go that hard
Now, for other hypothetical ones:
Peppermint Patty: would spend a bit talking herself up, in opposition to Cartman's inadequacies (especially due to her being very sports-focused and physical) and would be cheerful nearly all the time (a la Maui in Maui vs.
The "Kyle dousn't like you because pork isn't kosher" was genius
best flow: eric
best disses: charlie and lucy
winner: kyle

This is so well written! It fits the characters so well too, Erik Cartman is just bullying Charlie and tryna make him feel bad while Charlie Brown is bringing up valid points and good criticism. Love your videos!!!
Lucy’s “YOU REPULSIVE FREAK!” has got to be one of the best line deliveries I’ve ever heard.
"No wonder Kyle hates you, pork isn't kosher." That has to be the most insane line I've heard.

When Kyle raises his middle finger in Lucy's verse, he looked angry before he flipped the bird and then consistently looks in Lucy's direction rather than Cartman's. @@DENT9330 ..True, but that did seem to happen less during Lucy's verse, most notably during the scene I'm talking about.
