salad fingers is a british animated web series created by david firth in 2004. it revolves around the eponymous salad fingers, a thin, green, mentally troubled man who inhabits a desolate world. as of september 2023, thirteen episodes have been published on youtube and newgrounds. since its debut, salad fingers has amassed a cult following and has been described as a viral phenomenon. salad fingers is the titular protagonist of the salad fingers series. he is a mentally disturbed individual who often hallucinates. despite this, he means well and is friendly to everyone he encounters, though at times he absent-mindedly causes unintentional harm to them. it is shown that he enjoys the sensation of rubbing his fingers on rusty objects, such as spoons and taps. he has a variety of finger puppets that he takes the personality of to talk to himself, including marjory stewart-baxter, hubert cumberdale and jeremy fisher.
marionette, also commonly known as the puppet, is an animatronic and the main antagonist of five nights at freddy's 2. he stays in the prize corner, and jeremy fitzgerald and fritz smith must wind up a music box or else he will attack the player. the marionette will stay at the prize corner, where the player, viewing through the eyes of two night guards, jeremy and fritz, must remotely wind up a music box in to keep the marionette calm. if the player does not wind up the music box, the marionette will slowly rise out of his box and come straight for the player, resulting in a game over. the take cake to the children minigame partially reveals his origins, as it shows a child being murdered outside of the establishment by william afton, followed by the marionette's jumpscare implying that child then possessed him. the give gifts give life minigame depicts the marionette giving the missing children's incident victims gifts and new life through the animatronic heads. as well as this, the fnaf 2 cutscenes reveal the marionette still had a presence even in the original restaurant that was first shown in fnaf 1. in the fourth of these cutscenes, it follows the player's head movements from inside freddy until the scene ends.

i think you were lying when you said these'd "match the series' current level of production value" because holy SHIT this might be the highest quality one i've seen from you. everything from all the different animation styles, the reworked voices and writing, the instrumental track, it's all so damn good. i felt that the only thing lacking in the original was the animation since salad fingers didn't have that much and marionette just felt like they could have a lot more, and this filled exactly what i wanted out of them! fantastic work
I love how this version pays even more homage to the original media visually, esp Salad Fingers (3:4 I see you). The performances flow so much better too, everyone did fantastic!
I think this was the first rap battle of yours I saw, and I remember being so blown away by the quality and care put into it, especially from a relatively small channel. The fact you've only gotten better is honestly super inspiring, and I'm glad more and more people are noticing ❤
The “Tomorrow is another day” surprised me for a second because after doing my research it’s a reference a lot of people don’t really recognize.
This was so awesome. The characters are potrayed and animated so good, especially salad fingers. The animation for salad fingers actually looks like something david firth would make, so credits to the person who animated it. Everyone did amazing.
I also love the little details, at the last part of the puppets duet you can hear “SAVE THEM” in the background later in, it’s a cool detail because in FNAF 2 there’s a random chance of getting a specific mini-game after dying and a music box says “SAVE THEM” over and over again while Afton’s seen killing a kid which soon becomes the puppet.

Actual response: This goes unbelievably hard. Even if it's reanimated, it feels like a brand new rap battle. The visuals, the transitions, the music, the references and the voice acting... They're all perfect. Must say I love how Salad Finger's backstory was portrayed throughout the entirety of the animation, especially Lefty's part. Also interesting how "spring" and "trap" flashed yellow with a cool bass. I think one of the most interesting things about these are how KurobaneAzia voice acts the beat's melody (no idea how what she does is really called) at some parts and how GamingPlush64 repeats the beginning's melody with his voice sounding somewhat like Foxy's "dum dum dum dum". Keep it up.
Oh wow! This was even better than I expected! The animation for Salad Fingers is so damn good, Marionette's updated lyrics and voice is so perfect! I love that the phone guy is coming from the radio now, REALLY adds to the lore and connects both worlds more, I love this so much. What a way to begin the Reanimated Series!

Damn this was was amazing. As someone who loves the first version this was absolutely stunning. The Atari style animation was the biggest highlight here but frankly everything in this battle was on point and it was nice to hear Azia and Gamingplush again as these characters, great work everyone!

What a return to something that me and my brother loved from the years, it was SO NICE to see nostalgia comeback to me, its nice to see old challengers coming back in remastered animation, my vote stays on The Puppet, but MY GOODNESS, whoever voiced her has a wonderful singing voice, even Salad Fingers voice actor did such a SPLENDID JOB, so much love to everyone that worked on this masterpiece of a remaster, keep up the wonderful work 💚

While I always thought that the original held up well, seeing the improvements made to both the video and audio sides of the battle made me really appreciate you reanimating this classic! The original version of this battle was the first video I've seen from this channel and to this day I really like it. Now this... I love this! Not just, that the animation is better than before, but even the small changes in the lyrics make it a bit better imo. Props to the voice cast and everyone else involved. I fucking adore the more sadistic and slower flow Salad Fingers has, disecting Marionettes character and game, while Marionette goes more fast paced and rushing flow, attacking him and his creator just generally, it's insanely fitting for the both methinks.
My honest opinion:
THE VISUALS WERE AMAZING OMG!!!! ESPECIALLY WHERE SALAD FINGER WAS RUNNING AWAY FROM PUPPET IN THE MINIGAME SEQUENCE!!!
Both had respectively peak visuals, but damn Marionette stole the show in term of those.
Tho... the audio is pretty good, the phone guy part was better, but overall the old audio was better.

Holy shit... the original was already great but this is... oh my god. The writing and disses is WAY better than I remember, voice acting is off the charts, like GamingPlush and Azia did so fucking amazing holy shit. I could listen to the beat by itself, animation and visuals are FUCKING AWESOME. Everyone involved with this project went INSANE, possibly the best battle on this channel. Props to everyone, especially GamingPlush! Reanimated is looking to be amazing!

i like how Salad Fingers is a lot more thoughtful and clever with his lines while the Puppet almost seems manic
I love the new animation. I also loved how the lyrics were changed. That was cool. Something I wanna see more is like the opponents interacting/intertwining in between, like how Marionette jumps at salad finger but he dodges and she hits the floor. The only thing is I think I liked how Gaming plush did Salad Fingers voice in the original one. Sounded closer to his official voice. This one was a bit to deep. I also love how Marionette was much more vicious in her pronouncing, also her flow was much better. Azia always does a great job.
You think her flow is better? I think it’s very robotic in her beginning but it definitely does get better. I like the original audio better but absolutely adore the visuals on this one.

This remake is a HUGE improvement. Salad Fingers sounds more unprofessional and dumb(it's a good thing it means he is more in character). Remaking the animation with your to date skills is so cool :))))

First all of all, i was liking the og battle but not that much, due to the visual

They is not enough remaster in the english community, it's so rare to see another take of the same battle
So, first the thumbnail, it's amazing
Really the composition, the style, the color, maybe the best thumbnail of the channel for now, it's cool to see something different from the normal ava one, even if i like it
Secondly, the audio. DAMN, i saw people liking more the og one, but thats just due to nostalgy, the new one is SO MUCH better. Azia and Patrick did such an amazing job (especially Azia with the Bite of 87 line)

The 8 bit part is also amazing, i love when Patrick do 8-bit in battle, but the 3D mix with it god that's perfect

Their great ! But there is some line, we all know they sound like 2020 and like thats normal, thats dont disturb me that's much cauz overall there is some great punch (i very like the first one of the second verse of Salad 👍)

I really love how the first one says "grill," referencing how afton got burned, but also saying salad fingers is going to roast her. I also like how fast it goes by in the original version.
However i do prefer the use of the term "springing her trap" as opposed to "spring her trap" because it sounds more like hes preventing her from talking
