So its really simple. Disassemble the entire car, put two layers of insulation on non-flat surfaces, and then put the car back together. What can go wrong? :P
according to the instruction sound deadening materials can be applied on clean painted surface of metal. Mine RAV4 2018 has some oem hardened paste applied which seems to not cover all area but application is still difficult to remove. How do you advice to approach when dealing with this hard material? Cover it or remove it ?
Thanks for your question. If the standard sound insulation of bitumen is not damaged, then stick Noico on top of it, having thoroughly cleaned and degreased the surface of the standard sound insulation.
It would take a lot of time and effort to soundproofing for the whole car. However, it's worth it at the end. Highly recommend for anyone has plans to upgrade their car audio system. I have a concern about one thing. Is the power lift gate on Rav4 strong enough to lift the back door after adding multiple layers of sound treatments? I had that problem on my Corolla, the trunk couldn't open all the way up by itself after installing sound deadening due to the added weight, I had to push it up by my hand.
I agree that this would be too much weight for most lift gate systems. This video is a little misleading. Sound deadening does not block much sound, it dampens vibration, therefore more is not more. You could achieve almost exactly the same by only covering 60% of the panel once. This would be much lighter, and not noticably louder.
Hello! There is a Calculation section on our official website: noico.info where you can find number of sqft for each car models. If you want to apply the entire car as much as possible, approximately you need 3 boxes of Noico 80mil sound deadener and 3 boxes of Noico Red FOAM material.
Sorry but we don't have any specific shop to recommend you in LA area but there should be plenty that could get that installed for you. Be sure to cover the floor and give it a proper run with a roller. Floor is the most important part from soundproofing standpoint.
Wow, that's an awful lot of work, I wouldn't have the confidence to attempt it. I love my RAV4 but it could be quieter, it's a shame they don't give the car better sound insulation at the factory. However I'm not sure this would cure wind noise which is what I find most annoying. I guess the doors and or windows don't seal as tightly as they could. Actually it's rather ironic, they build a car that has a very quiet engine then spoil it by not giving it enough (or any?) sound insulation. Inspiring video though for those that want to have a go, well done.
Thanks a lot for your comment! Yes, the factory usually saves on noise insulation, otherwise the car would have cost much more))). For wind noise you can try replacing the rubber tape on the doors.
I think I'm going to try this in small parts. Doors, ceiling, and if it wasn't a pain to do those two, I'll attempt removing all the seats and everything. Maybe even do that in a batch too. Take a couple seats at a time and drive around with just the driver's seat in tact for awhlie lol
i have 2016 rav4 limited. the noise i heard at annoy me is little air or wind. feel like the back window is open while driving in free way. so which area should do the deadening? how much is it? or how much the full deadening?
Noico sound deadening material reduces road, engine noise, rattles and vibrations of the metal of the vehicle. Sound deadening the doors can reduce some of the external noise and improve the acoustics and the quality of the sound system of your vehicle. On the other hand noise caused by wind depends on the aerodynamics of the body of the car and it is not caused by vibrations. As an additional option, you can check the door seam rubber sealant as they might have gotten dry and need to be changed.
Unfortunately, it's impossible to pass the full range of the noises inside a car (from 20 to 25.000 Hz) through a compressed video and the speakers of a computer or a phone. For this reason, it's almost impossible to assess the real noise reduction through audio or video record.
This is an outstanding, I’ve been looking and checking online to see if there anyway I can reduced wind noise while driving. I have 2020 RAV4 and I would like to get this done, do you have shops in the Midwest or the Minneapolis area? Also , kindly what is total cost will be get my entire car done. Respectfully
Kindly note that all our products are intended to reduce road, engine noise, rattles and vibrations of a vehicle. Their main designation is vibration control. Wind noise cannot be eliminated by using our products as that only depends on the ergonomics of the body of the vehicle. Also please note that all our products are available on Amazon, unfortunately we don't have any offline stores however you can order the products online and either install them yourself or use the help of an audio installer in your area. We are sorry for this inconvenience. For your Rav 4 you would need an estimated total of 136 sqft of sound deadening materials to do the whole car.
Thank you for your interest in our products and for contacting us,🙏 Unfortunately, we don't have a network of installers, However there should be no issue to find the installation service among your local audio shops/body shops in your area.
Hi, RollYourRock Soundproofing of interior turns out to be more effective. The major source of road noise is a floor. Covering the firewall will cut down the engine noise. Doors treatment will also contribute to road noise elimination. Soundproofing of roof will get you sorted in terms of heat insulation and rain/hail noise.
We are sorry but we don't offer an installation service, just the material. You should look for car audio or customising shops in your area. Most of our customer do it DIY.
We're happy to know that you foundour video helpful! Feel free to contact us in case you have any questions during installation. We will be glad to help you!
