He was allowed to talk like that on TV because adults back then were adults, not permanently offended children posing as adults.
Yeah and from what I got the costumers at the shop where comedians and often wrote the insults that would be said to them.
@@sepermakerchoe7333 Sounds like everyone on that show was having a blast. Everyone, that is, except Amanda Bearse, who is a feminist.
@@CristiNeagu Amanda is also lesbian. Surprised she stayed as long as she did.
@@taoist32 Ed O'Neil said he was close to "pulling rank" and having her kicked out, but he decided not to.
Amen Cristi!
Don't let this distract you from the fact that in 1966, Al Bundy scored four touchdowns in a single game while playing for the Polk High School Panthers in the 1966 city championship game versus Andrew Johnson High School, including the game-winning touchdown in the final seconds against his old nemesis, Bubba "Spare Tire" Dixon.
woooooaaaAAAAH BUNDY!!!
Absolutely!
... and he had lots of offers from junior colleges and could've been somebody, until one day he met the "red death".
The Al Vs Bubba slow motion scenes is one of the funniest in the series.
I was surprised to learn that Al Bundy really played for the Pittsburgh Steelers in real life; for a bit.
Married with Children might be the most underrated show I bought the box set at the pawn shop for twenty bucks and couldn't turn it off
It's not underrated. It was one of Fox's longest running and highest rated shows next to The Simpsons.
It's underrated compared to garbage that got more viewers or praise like Seinfeld and Friends
Underrated and underappreciated for the warning ⚠️ about Oprah...
I got the box set as well. One of the best purchases I ever made.
My box set of Married and That 70s Show are my 2 most used entertainment purchases I will never regret.
Everybody shits on Al Bundy in the TV show, Al just has the best come backs.
From a time when people could take a joke.
So true and miss those days :)
Amen. If folks can't laugh at themselves nothing would be funny.
👍👍Hay Leo!
You have to watch the show!
It's on pluto on demand! 👍✌️
except for the OG Karen that complained about one episode
...those were the days...
I've told this to many people before, I'm obese and his fat jokes are my favorite. People need to lighten up and laugh at themselves.
Same. I'm not massive. I'm 5'10 215 pounds. And his fat jokes are what I grew up on. I was always considered at least a little overweight but I was watching Married With Children at age 10 and I turned out fine. Even though my mom tried to dislike the show but she saw the guys got it just as bad so we ended up watching every night at ten. Ended up going through the whole series. My mother died five years ago but the shows we watched as I grew up bring happiness to me whenever I see them. I think that childhood is the happiest time of our lives (at least when you have love). I'd give anything to feel that excitement you get as a child and teenager again
It's because they're inventive. Even the descriptors of how the fat women came into the store change
but you are not a woman so it doesn't count
Amen brother

It was a magical time in the 80’s...people didn’t get offended so easily...Enjoy!
Although premiering in the 80s it spent most of its life cycle in the 90s.

@@GenerationalDisappointment I was just trying to be a smartass... I thought I did alright. It's too hot here to know
@@GenerationalDisappointment it's a joke.
The lady actress who plays Marcy (lady neighbor with short hair he's always calling a chicken) is the one who wrote the jokes between her and Al. She also helped write a good chunk of the others jokes as well. They had a blast on set in the writers room! The rest of the ladies being brunts of the jokes were also comediennes and actresses in on the jokes, having helped write them. It was the 90s, they didn't care lol
That was the case for a while. Right up until Amanda Bearse discovered feminism, started taking all the jokes personally, and started asking for Ed O'Neill to be kicked off the show. Then she made her character into a lesbian.
The 90's were peak American culture. It's been on a downward slide since.
Dont be offended. Most of these big ladies were comedians and in on the jokes. Marcy was a writer and wrote many of her insults from Al...herself!
They were making fun of Karens before we were.
They could pay me to insult me on TV, we've all been insulted for free lol
See back then everybody had good sense of humor, until somebody on the internet mention sjw, now magically everybody sense of humor is out the window
@@jamalbryant8099 Things weren't that different. We just hear about all the nonsense everyday now with screens constantly in our faces and 24/7 news channels. People used to mind their own business cause it was an actual hassle to make a big deal out of things
@@MrPhooey442 yeah, but come on, the 70s 80s 90's and the early 2000s tv shows were the best they can say anything they want, the pre sjw, i mean can you name any tv shows today are better than fresh Prince, Martin, married with children, gimme a break, silver spoons, Buffy and Angel , Sanford and son, Crosby show? Nooo, because they can say anything they want, that what make it good shows, now Hollywood is downgrading that formula into a strict prison for tv shows
It's NOT that people didn't get offended back then, that's a common misconception, this show was heavily protested and was considered rather vulgar by mainstream standards of the time. Of course this was all pre-internet, long before a meme about a show or actor could go viral within days. The thing is, this was on Fox, which was a brand new network at the time, in desperate need of shows to fill it's time slots and still be competitive with the other major networks. So they just didn't give a shit and refused to cave in to outside pressure to cancel the show. They kind of took pride in being a more "edgy" TV network. (This was the same network that launched The Simpson's) From that it ended up building a solid following and turned into a TV classic. All because Fox took a stand and said "no" to early cancel culture.
There was not a culture of offense. There was not a culture of the oppression Olympics. We were there. It's not a misconception. At least in NY state, insults were a way of saying hi and having a good time with everybody you knew. So was punching.
@@LadyIarConnacht there was indeed a culture of offense, I was there too. Perhaps you forgot the PMRC and the trials that took place? In regards to this show in particular maybe you should do a google search on Terry Rakolta.
I grew up watching this show.. It's so sad no one has a sense of humor about themselves anymore. Everyone gets butthurt about every little thing. See how much you laughed? It was savage adult humor, and I miss it. Thanks for doing this one! Remember you are loved..

People were just as offended they just didn't speak up. It's odd to me people who glorify hurting others because they "can't take a joke". While I find it funny because Im a shitty person I at least recognize how wrong you are.
@@Baka_Oppai I don't know where the hell you grew up at, but that is not the way I grew up in the 80s and 90s. The only thing that hurt us was losing a fight badly. That time period was full of jokes and insults, especially the 'your momma' jokes. We all laughed about those and all other jokes if they were funny. It was also the times of the 'you're so...(white, black, skinny, fat, dumb, etc) jokes, and everyone laughed at those as well. We didn't get so butthurt and say someone was bullying us with insults. The only bullies back then were the ones beating the crap out of others.

No, there were plenty of tight-assed Christian moms trying to get this show canceled. At the same time, they were crusading against heavy metal, dungeons & dragons, and anything else they deemed unworthy of a clean, white society. This was before right-wingers adopted the victim role; back then, they went immediately for the cancel.
@@JadeDude1973 And none of them were really taken seriously/supported by the mainstream media and establishment. No-one cared about those crazies back then and they only made the series more popular. These days everyone bows to this snowflake mob.

Fuck yeah!
Insult humor is a lost comedic art. Other great shows were; Mama's Family, All In The Family, Good Times, and The Jefferson's.
I loved Mama's Family. Used to watch reruns of it when I was a kid and I had to stay home from school.
That 70s Show 👀
i miss all of those shows. hey, don't forget sanford and son .
it's been so long since I watched (I was a kid), but did Gimme a Break fit in with the others?

This was when people had a sense of humor, and were not whining cry babies.
You would love the show.
You took the words out of my fingers.
Elvisto Chong oh come on, they still show this on cable on repeats , and shows like mike tyson mysteries or family guy are way more savage ( saying but they're cartoons means what? )
@@docgonzales reruns doesn't matter cause they mainly come on late television on regular cable channels. You won't see a show like this on a prime time channel during a major time slot. Family Guy was an adult swim show first and it is on Fox now but they had to move it to Sunday nights lol

Here's the thing about the show: this show is created during a time where people would not sensitive to every little thing and unlike people today everyone was not offended by every little thing back then. What makes Al Bundy so great is the fact that he speaks what people are thinking but are too afraid to say. Having never watched this compilation before with you Mr. V, every time you laughed, I laughed my ass off.
This was the 90s. We didnt play that “offended” card back then lol. Ppl had better sense of humor and humility. Ppl could laugh at the dumb shit associated w their race and cultures. The era of television when the Twitter alphabet crowd didn’t exist. 👍
works for both sides
You should definitely watch the entire series. To me, it's the best TV show ever. You can pick up the box set of all eleven seasons from places like Best Buy or Amazon for pretty cheap. I grew up with this show and have watched the entire series several times. You'll love it.
I some day hope to be a hybrid of Al Bundy, Red Foreman, and Ron Swanson, the ultimate MAN.
Perfection!!!! Ron Swanson is my absolute favorite. 🤣🤣
A combination of Al and Red is male perfection
That's just too perfect not to applaud. 👏
Hahaha you just described my dad
Oh damn! 🤣
This show is a national treasure
10 years of savagery that i feel lucky to have enjoyed growing up, nowadays Twitter blue check marks would get it canceled after one episode and the world would miss out on an absolute classic.
Did you know Al "touchdown" Bundy scored 4td in one game at Polk High? Legend. 😂🤣😂
When you didn't have to be PC. People didn't cry about everything.
In " Married With Children ", when you think a joke is over... you' re wrong. :)
How did he talk like that? It’s called the 90s. The last decade before everyone went soft 😂
The problem right now is with them trying to take away freedom of speech and everything else this would never be allowed on TV. Great show though. 🤣🤣🤣
You are slowly becoming my favorite reactor. I hope you're making bank on here.
Edit... fox was a brand new network, it needed something the rest of television didn't offer. fox was built on this and the Simpsons...
Mr. Video, I can only imagine what you thought we were thinking, when this show was so popular. There was freedom of speech..not like now, when all comedians are banned for hurting someones feelings. All I thought about was how hysterical it was. Even my kids, back then thought Al was fantastic, and they still watch it and laugh. I love your reactions, there far better than anyone else's on UA-cam. Your laugh makes me breakout laughing. Thank you for your joyful self. Keep them coming.
Married...With Children was, and still is, one of my most favorite shows.
My favorite line of all time was uttered by Kelly Bundy: " That was the squaw that stroked the camel's sack"...
Al Bundy for President. At least he knows where he is.
1-2-3-4 you're going to fall through the floor always cracks me up
I actually spent time as a shoe salesman back in 90's, Al Bundy jokes every day. Great times🥳
One childhood lesson we have stopped teaching our kids is "sticks and stones" and we wonder why they are soft adults
Throw a bit of Rodney Dangerfield in to that mix
Yep
Shit, we used to literally, hit each other with sticks and stones growing up back in the 80's and 90's. We'd just shake it off and get back in the fight.
Kids now a days get triggered by a picture, or a "mean" tweet and need ptsd counselling🤦
When people weren't so butt hurt
Al Bundy: The Man That CREATED The One-Liner And Taught Us Our Best Insults!
I have all the episodes. A true American hero. Cant eat cant sleep cant bury the wife in the back yard.
I grew up watching this show.
Married with children is suprisingly one of the first sitcoms to have gay relationships in it and have the characters not make a big deal out of it. IKR Al freaking Bundy was one of the first tv characters instantly ok with gay and lesbian relationships.
The actors playing Al and Marcy actually had a feud going in real life
i think i heard them talk about that, and it wasnt like that they hated each other. it was more like mocking between some teenagers. they made fun over each other then laughed about it and made a joke for the show out of it. they were like highschool kids making fun but not grown adults that hate each other to the bone!
The feud only started later on in the show
Young people need to watch these older shows. The 80s and 90s were so great. Yes you could say a lot more on TV back then.
Another thing I think about these jokes, is that they are not showing what was said before he said what he says. I think a lot of it has to do with bad customers first, then treating him like he did.
This is classic Al. Cold as hell. This was the good old days when people didn’t butt hurt over everything
I remember always laughing so hard at his brutal jokes.... LOVE IT !!!!
Times sure have changed. Not for the better.
One of my all time fav shows
A large % was his own material, and its hard to pin exactly which ones were improv but from what I read there were a fair few that he said off the cuff. True Shakespeare of the time 😂😂
Grew up watching Married With Children. So good.
Back when people where not easily offended snowflakes. This was one of my favorite shows growing up.

You got to love a series that was funny without everybody getting their panties in a twist. It was a comedy not to be taken seriously
Al Bundy the OG Godfather of Trolling! Al was a savage!
Had a massive crush on Christina Applegate because of this.
All of us growing up then did
Can't ever get enough of this show. I even have set of ring tones on my phone. "Shut up Peg" "Kids thank your father," "Thanks Dad" Psycho dad theme and the love and marriage theme song.
If he seemed Al Bundy was Savage uses watch All in the Family
If you like all in the family watch till death us do part. It’s the British show it was based on
I am 53 and this is still my favorite show of all time. Trust me, I say that with absolutely no thought of anything remotely resembling an apology.
I think the first season or two aired before fox was even a legit network, it was known for the grit
It and The Simpsons were what got people to watch Fox in the first place. Cops as well.
Season 3 was when the grit got noticed though. Thanks to the "controversy."
The 80’s & 90’s were an amazing time. People weren’t offended by EVERYTHING and could actually take a joke.
How could he talk that way? Because that was back when America still had a little freedom. A little...
This was one of the shows the whole family looked forward to when I was a kid. Many people look at what he says now and are shocked, These are Al's best insults, he received what he gave on this show. Marcy, Peg, everyone busted Al's balls too. They have/should have their own reel as well. It was a different time, thicker skin. There were still World War ! vets watching tv then as well as WW2, Korea, Vietnam vets as well.
Guy is basicly still playing Al Bundy in CC's Modern Family
Jay Pritchett also almost became a pro footballer through high school
Also: Where's Breaking Bad man!! We need our fix!!!!
One episode of Modern Family showed Jay (Ed) looking at a picture on his office wall, and saying "You did it, you son of a b****!"

If you can find the show, it's well worth the time. Keep in mind, it was a different era. Al Bundy is my hero, and Kelly Bundy is my girl.
The actor who plays Al was in a movie called Dutch that's pretty great
"In his television career Michael Moye (born August 11, 1954) has written for shows such as The Jeffersons, Diff'rent Strokes, Good Times, and 227 and also produced It's Your Move and The Jeffersons. His best known work is likely with Married with Children, created alongside Ron Leavitt for the fledgling FOX TV network.
The co-creator and early writer of MWC with Ron Leavitt, Michael essentially left television altogether when he left the series in 1992."
I think the majority of this country still loves this humor and stuff. It's just the media, tech corporations, and Hollywood trying to deceive us into thinking that a lot of people are too sensitive to it.
Try watching a few episodes of the show and you will see that this Al's main defence against a world that continues to kick him when he's down.
Oh man it was a great show
Actually it is interesting to note that during the during the third season the show was on the verge of being cancelled due to low ratings but then some mom, of course we would call her a Karen now, saw it because her kids were watching and got so offended that she made a big deal about it the media started talking about it. So more and more people started to tune in to see what the big deal was causing the ratings to spike big time. So instead of only 3 seasons we got 11. Probably could have got a couple more seasons but I think most of the cast wanted to move on. The show was one of the shows to help launch FOX, certainly its earliest success.
Al, yeah he usually gave them the most hell, but they kept coming back for more.
The actress Amanda is the director n almost every show kudos ms Amanda kudos
