A couple things need to be pointed out. First Jordan learned his trash talking from Bird. Second, Bird would tell his opponent what he was going to do before he did it which I don't think Jordan ever did. Bird was a better trash talker than Jordan.

The difference is Bird would tell his opponent EXACTLY what he was going to do before he would score. He would say what the play was going to be or where he was going to be when he did the shot. I don't think Jordan was ever that specific.

What do you mean Bird HAD to tell his opponent what he was going to do? He didn't have to tell them anything. If anything not telling his opponent what he was going to do would give him an advantage.
