thanks for the info. i was used my fingernails & started along the top edge to get cover off really fast. no tools required - no scratches, dents or gouges.
I just opened one up for a friend. Your video was helpful. I used a tiny flathead screw driver and just inserted in a 90 degree angle and the cover starts popping really easily. There are tabs all around and the screw driver provides enough force to pop the tabs out of place. Video was helpful nonetheless. Thumbs up!!!

a little eyeglass screwdriver works perfectly & doesn't really make much of a mark once you get the corner up. You can probably go to a drug store & get one in the eyeglass repair kit for a couple bucks.... Thanks again Bill

Bill, thanks for the information but you should put at the beginning to remove the SD card. Guess what happens when you follow along removing the back as the video plays. Snaps the card end off!
Listen thank you for the video but a few years back I was using a putty knife and a "DULL" kitchen knife to work my way around an old apple mac mini. I've done this operation a few hundred times. do it with my eyes closed no joke. but that particular day the knife caught the ground springs and flung forward. leaving me with a nice laceration with needed 14 stitches to close. Since that day I use spudgers and very light very thing guitar pics. trust me @ 4 for a dollar it beats the bill for the ER. I have a very nice scar to remind me why knifes are not pry bars.
try plugging it in to charge, wait 5 mins, then after several attempts(if the battery keeps shows) turn the power off and on and it should START BACK UP without having to remove anything. I have this problem alot, just tried taking the cover off and succeeded but now with external cover damages, I realized I didnt even need to do this, just be PATIENT with the charging part, but if nothing shows on power up(battery for ex.) then try this and it does work!
It seems as far as what type of tool is used to pry it apart, a 6 piece electronic/mini screwdriver set works the best and has minimal damage to it as far as the backing goes.
Bill thank you for your video on how to take the back off. I cracked my digitizer, and need to replace it. I have watched videos of other types of tablets, having the digitizers removed and it looks pretty brutal, and the chance of destroying delicate electronics seems likely, so I am reluctant to DYI unless I see it done on a Nextbook 10.1, so I know exactly where all the delicate stuff is. My nextbook flexx 11 starts and everything works fine up until it's unplugged. It will still proceed to work and charge normally but as soon as it's put under very mild stress it will glitch out and shut down..
OK, do a little damage and have the notebook back......... Worth it. What other choice does a person have? Your going to get some grief, If and when I HAVE THE PROBLEM AGAIN, I'll pull the back off and cut a window over the plug and black tape a cover over it. I had the tablet set to never sleep or hibernate, AH, BUT I upgraded to Windows 10 (Another story) had it load up and never thought to check the sleep settings. Rebecca Kesterson plug the charger into the tablet and the wall outlet. Hold down the power button and the volume up button together. Keep holding the buttons down while the tablet powers up and then it shuts down. Once it shuts down, release the buttons. The tablet should start charging.

Rare Kitty97 If you get any separation in the case, insert your prying tool and move it one way or the other and try twisting it. The case is kind of stubborn the first time. Just be patient and careful. Best of luck!

pretty sad....faulty garbage that I had to use a screw driver to pry open where as technology nowadays you can easily get into, this company needs to be messaged that our safety is now jeorpadized by using knives to open their faulty product with no easy way to open, especially when you pay all this money for shitty technology. Ive tried this but the only thing that will pop lose are the corners everything else is just stuck and i cant pull it off without fear of breaking it
